All the three were keenly looking upon traces of lucas, minah went in to check for the cctv footages if his whereabouts were captured.
Ken was busy on his phone calling someone for assistance and ravi was asking the security guard for the visitors registry. Hongbin was with suzy in her room, sitting beside a fast asleep girl who was not aware of anything happening around.
He had mixed thoughts running inside his head. The person he cherished for a while now turned a huge betrayer at his back, the only one he loves now has her life in danger, he was not capable enough to catch hold of the criminal right back then, so much of resent and guilt filled him blending with anger and worry. Now his only concern was to find lucas and save Taehyung, this time its even worse, with kim not being healthy enough to fight his way back.
‘How could they leave them in such grave danger, someone should have been here, atleast i shouldn't have gone when he called’ he repented.
He blamed himself for being a reason of this situation.
All while he didnt notice another pair of eyes fixed on them, minah was looking at his love his feelings for suzy. She was feeling pathetic for his fate, the people whom he loved the most were all moving away from him and he remains consistant.
'tch god is mean' she thought as she leaned by the door sill and watched them for a few minutes not realising that her heart was dragging her to the man there. She began sympathising and felt her heart grow soft for hongbin. She shook her head and walked out when she knew what she was thinking.
Reluctant to leave her alone hongbin grasped suzy’s hand softly and leaned on the handle of the bed, just then ravi came barging into the room.
“hongbin-ah, we found Taehyung's phone location, but not sure if that is the true one"
Hongbin raised his eyebrows, immediately freed his grip from suzy and dragged ravi out of the room.
“what” hongbin asked “you found him??”
Ravi nodded and continued “but we still dont know if its his address that the system is tracking, he is smart, he could have manipulated”
Hongbin nodded “for now just find me more details about this location you’ve traced”
Ravi nodded and left without another word swiftly.
Hongbin’s phone rang and as he was about to answer, a tall man with four body guards stood in front of him.
Hongbin silenced his phone and attended to them “yes, whom do you want”
The tall man, apparently looked like the leader, replied “sir we are the defence force section 6, we are here on Mr. Park's order”
Hongbin looked confused
“sorry?”
Then a voice over ruled these and walked casually towards them, it was ken
“i called them here” he said
Hongbin asked
“how” after a pause
“and why”
“what do you mean why, we need assistance to search for Taehyung and that jerk. I asked for a favor from Mr park to send over the orders” ken replied sternly and nodded a hello at the crew.
“then get to work” he ordered them while giving confused hongbin a boasting look.
Hongbin was simply speechless to reply nor act out, he was in a way happy to see them work hard to help him even if they aren't meant to. At least now he can go around freely without the worry of leaving suzy alone.
He then realised the call he silenced before on his phone so he checked it. It recognized the number as unknown but for some reason he felt suspicious.
So he called the number back again, it rang for a long time but was not answered. He thought for a min and immediately rushed to minah, who was sitting inside Taehyung's room staring at the laptop.
“Ms.minah would you help me if you dont mind” he asked (gentleman vibes)
“of course Mr. Lee, what is it” she replied warmly firing at the chance to get closer to him.
“can you trace this number for me” he said and pointed her the phone displaying the number on it.
she spontaneously responded a yes and took over the phone.
Hongbin gave a sweet smile filling with his dimples and walked away.
After a long search they couldn't find anything about Taehyung. Ken was instructing all the cops to surround the house, he strengthened the security near suzy’s room in special concern.
While just then hongbin received a call from ravi, “oh hongbin-ah i found it, it gives the name of a man who died years ago and his house has been locked for yrs now” he ended.
Hongbin sighed and felt frustrated at how helpless they are getting as they get closer.
He was determined to find out the truth about taehyung and lucas and set out by himself. Before he could leave he dropped a word to ken to keep an eye on suzy and left.
He visited the school where lucas and taehyung studied together, he had noticed it in the photo and looked up about it in the internet.
It was a very small school in daegu. It was a middle school that catered to not many students. In those times it was one of the most popular schools among the others.
While he was driving on his way to Daegu he rang to section 7, the person on the other side received immediately.
“hyung!! How are you. Its been a while since you called me” he exclaimed.
“oh hyuk-ah, yeah im doing okay here. I wanted a fav… ” hongbin began but he was snapped by hyuk’s voice.
“hyung! How is your operation going, wah its been more than 4months now. Did you catch him? Where is he? Is he kept captive here?” hyuk kept going on in excitement.
“yah! Yah! Listen to me. Will you let me finish” hongbin asked.
“oh” hyuk realised “sorry hyung. Go on. You were saying”
“yeah i need some background check on some place as soon as possible” hongbin asked for a favor.
“oh hyung i was there in my childhood” hyuk said “its my hometown before i moved to seoul” he recalled when hongbin said the name of the school.
“yeah, which is why im asking you this favor, i know you come from there” hongbin said “but this is really urgent and confidential”
“okay hyung dont worry, im working off duty today for you and ill get back to you in another hour” hyuk reassured hongbin and hung the call.
Hongbin drove his car in full speed until he reached the limits of the city.
He swiftly pressed on his brakes when he arrived at the entrance of the school.
Deagu middle school It read in huge letters on the entrance .
He walked inside the building, the walls had cracked up and the room doors were dried old. He looked for the headmaster’s room.
With no one around in the school it resembled an old mansion that wasnt cared about for years.
He followed a board that read principal and was lead to a room on the right corridor.
He knocked on it and entered. A lady who was around 50’s was sitting relaxed in the chair having her soup on the table.
Hongbin bowed at her “hello ma’am, im lee hongbin from section 7. Im a police detective from seoul”
Her sight trailed to him slowly as he came forward and showed her his face. She smiled at him warmly and gestured him to sit.
“may i know why you have come” she asked with her broken voice.
“i needed some information regarding a student from your school” he asked.
He showed her the photo in which Taehyung and lucas were together.
She saw it with utmost attention and thought very deeply for a few mins. “its been 18 yrs now ma’am, can you please help” Hongbin looked at her desperately hoping for some clue.
After a long pause she said “i dont recall much about these kids” hongbin sighed at her response but she continued “but then there's one thing i still remember, these two were from a renowned family”
"family??" he raised his eyebrows
"yes they were brothers"
