Harry found it extremely amusing scaring me every two minutes just to cause me to scream and everyone to laugh at me. However, we had so much fun, especially at the end of the movie when Harry and Niall were arguing who's gonna eat the last slice of pizza. At first, I thought Harry was about to snap at him, but that thought was soon pushed away when they started laughing and teasing each other.
I was glad they finally started seeing each other's good sides. I didn't want them to dislike each other. I knew they would be great friends, and I was right. Harry just needs to stop being so annoyed with every little thing Niall does or says, and now that he did, they're finally coming closer.
Now here I was, in my bedroom, doing my make up for tonight. I always went to work with just a little mascara and eyeliner, but now the restaurant I'm working at got more fame for the past month I've been missing, and Jack-my boss-wants us to be more prim.
I was wearing deep blue denim jeans and a white shirt that will be matched with a red tie I'm gonna wear at the restaurant. My hair was gathered up in a high, tight ponytail. I had put eyeliner over my eyes and mascara, light pink lipcstick and black earings. I wore my black short boots and my black coat, since outside it was freezing.
Harry opened the door and stepped im, wearing a black and white beanie. He smiled at me through the mirror and I turned around to look at him. Then's when I noticed the backbag he was carrying over his shoulder.
My heart stopped. Where was he going? Was he leaving?
I furrowed my brows and glanced up at him, my eyes slightly widening. "Hey, what's this?"
"A backbag?" he said in a way as if I was stupid.
"Thank you a lot for the information, Harry," I rolled my eyes. "Where are you going?" I asked, scared of the answer.
"To the gym. I thought that maybe while you're at work I should go and work out a little, since I'm gonna get so bored here all alone." He said simply.
"Oh," I said. A huge wave of relief washed through me, calming me down. "Nice, but I want you to do something first."
"What now?" he asked bored, crossing his arms.
"Compel my boss to not fire me from work?" I said, raising my shoulders and smiling sweetly up at him.
He rolled his green eyes and huffed. "Why should I? It's not like you need to work for that jackass while I'm here. You don't need money." he said, giving me a serious look.
"I don't care, I like my job and it brings back so many memories." I said, crossing my arms as well. "And I want to live normally again, remember? And job is something normal."
"But it's a waste of time." he said, looking away.
"Oh c'mon," I groaned, walking across the room and standing in front of him. "I know you want to spend every minute with me." I teased.
He smirked and looked down at me, quickly dropping the backbag off his shoulder and down to the floor. His arms snaked around my waist, pulling me closer to him. I smiled, placing my hands on his shoulders.
"Yes, and I don't like it when some fuckers take you away from me."
My heart raced, knowing that Harry wants me to be with him the whole time. I could hear the hint of jealousy in his voice as he said those words, and it only made me feel better. I leaned in and kissed his cheek, fighting the urge to kiss him right on the lips. He thinks we're best friends and nothing more, and as much as I want to tell him that I want us to go this further, I couldn't. Because then I would be expecting too much from him, and he will probably not be able to handle with it.
"I want to spend every hour with you too, Harry." I murmured. "But I really want to go to the work tonight. What about me coming over the gym when I finish?" I suggested.
"Hell no," he argued. "You're not gonna walk all alone at night in the streets."
I rolled my eyes. "Niall can take me with his car." I said.
"No. When you're done I'll be already waiting for you outside the restaurant." He said firmly.
I sighed. "Fine."
"Now c'mon, you're gonna be late. Not that I care but, you know." he said with as he gave me a bored look.
I nodded and stepped backwards to leave Harry some space. He bent down and grabbed the backbag from the floor before throwing it around his shoulder. We both walked out of the room and downstairs, me a little too excited while Harry was a little moody.
"Stop frowning," I said, gaining a surprised look.
"Are you telling me what to do, Rebecca?" he asked, eyes narrowing.
"Don't do this to your handsome face." I said.
He laughed, his arm wrapping around my shoulders. "So, when I frown I'm ugly?" he asked as he both walked towards his car.
"You're always ugly." I teased.
He acted he was offended by pressing one hand on his chest. "That hurt, Williams." he shot, trying to stop the smile.
"Maybe that's what I wanted." I smirked.
He came to a halt and grabbed my shoulders, turning me completely to him. I was soon thrown against his shoulder and he was running around his car, laughing loudly at my screams and begs to put me down on the ground.
"Harry-stop!" I shouted laughing, pressing my fists against his back.
"Okay, okay, babe." he laughed as he stopped and placed me down on the ground carefully.
I sighed and digged my hands in my coat, trying to warm myself up. He grinned as he stared down at me and I furrowed my brows, my lips still curved into a smile.
"What?" I asked.
"You're just...so cute with those red cheeks." he said, poking my cheek.
I chuckled and slapped playfully his hand away before quickly jumping into his Mercedes. My cheeks were red because it was really cold outside and Harry, being Harry, was wearing a thin white full-sleeved button up shirt and black jeans. His beanie made him look adorable.
He jumped into the car and turned on the heat for me before turning around and throwing the backbag on the back seat. He started the car and pulled it on the road, humming a tune that brought joy to my heart.
"What time should I come to pick you up?" he asked, eyes focused on the road.
"At 12:35." I replied simply, looking away from him.
"Wait what?" he seemed frustrated. "You're working for 5 hours?"
"Yeah, so?"
"So?" he scoffed. "5 hours for like, 50$ the week?"
"No, Harry it's nothing like that. It's not that I need money to live, I have plenty of money in the bank. But I just want to do it, alright? I want to have the simple, normal life all people have." I explained, sighing at the end.
"What do you mean you have plenty of money in the bank?" Harry asked confused.
I trust Harry enough to tell him about everything that relates to bank, accounts, bills, money and stuff. So answering him this question wasn't hard.
"My parents, before they died, they...kinda left everything on me. They were rich but not billionaires. That's why I don't have lack of important things." I replied nonchanalantly.
"Hmm. So, you're just working for a fucker just to trick yourself?" he asked in a way as if it was the stupidest idea ever.
"It's not that, I just want to live normally. Not act like I'm the best girl in town with a lot of money their dead parents left to." I almost snapped at him.
"Rebecca, people would kill to be in your position." he said firmly, pointing at me.
"Well people are not me. And I don't want to act like I'm someone that I'm not okay?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I'm not blaming you for doing what you like. But you're just wasting time, why don't you just go somewhere and do something you love and not just like?" he asked, placing his hand on the steering wheel again.
I frowned. I didn't know what else I wanted to do. Seriously, I never really thought about the other things I want to do. But with Harry next to me, he always reminds me that there's more in life. And I seriously feel dumb for not having more life goals in my head.
"Haven't thought of it.." I murmured, looking down.
"S'okay, you're still 18." he said casually.
"What about you? Any life goals you want to reach?" I asked, looking at him.
"No. Nothing more than just make those bastards pay for what they do daily to those boys." His grip tightened on the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white and muscles tensing on his arms.
I didn't say anything. I looked out of the window, a little frustrated over the fact that Harry still didn't change his mind. I understand his anger, and those boys really don't deserve to be treated this way, but he needs to move on. Like I did. I moved on and I'm now trying to make a new start, why can't Harry do it too?
"We're here." I said when we were going closer to the corner.
Harry pulled the car to the side and I quickly gave him a smile and we both got out of the car and startwd walking towards the restaurant.
It felt so weird being back in the same place. So many things changed since the last time I worked here, and it really made me feel kinda nervous. Pushing away all the negative thoughts, I lead Harry to the Jack's office.
I knocked the door and heard him say "come in" from the other side. I nodded once at Harry that stood behind me before stepping into the office.
Jack was sitting on his chair, leaning against the desk, a frown creasing his face as he worked with some papers. I smiled awkwardly, not sure of how he'll react when he sees me.
His dark blond hair were a little messy and his green eyes were focused on the papers in front of him. The black suit he wore fit him perfectly, showing his muscular body.
"Jack?" I said quietly, feeling Harry's gaze on me.
His eyes snapped up with shock, his mouth falling agape when we locked eyes. I gave him a big smile as I folded my hands in front of me. He stood up and walked over the desk, smiling at me.
"Rebecca, it's so nice to see you again, where have you been?" he said, patting my shoulder.
"You see, that's why I came here today." I said, glancing once at Harry that was standing next to me.
"What do you mean, love?" Jack asked. Harry took a deep breath and clenched his jaw as he now glared at Jack.
"I want you to take me back to work. I don't want to miss the job." I said, feeling nervous of his answer.
Jack pressed his lips in a tight line. "Oh I'm sorry love, but I already hired someone else when you didn't appear the fourth day." he shrugged, digging his hands in his pockets.
"B-but I'm here now." I said, feeling my stomach twisting into knots.
"It doesn't matter. You didn't appear for a whole month, I couldn't wait for you. I had to hire someone else." he said, his smile fading.
"But I-,"
"It doesn't matter Rebecca." Jack cut me off. "You lost your job." he said, acting really like an asshole.
Tears wanted to appear but I swallowed them down even though I was really sad about it. I wanted this job, it's not something too important but this job reminds me a lot of things that happened. Niall and I had some of the best moments in our lives in this restaurant and I knew that if Jack fired me, Niall would quit and I didn't want him to do that for me.
Harry locked eyes with me and his expression turned to angry immidiately. Jack was suddenly pushed against the wall ny Harry holding tightly the collar of his shirt, faces inches away as Harry glared at him. My eyes widened and I covered my mouth with my hands, clearly shocked by Harry's reaction.
"Whoa, whoa, what the-,"
"Listen up you dickhead!" Harry shouted in his face. "You're gonna hire Rebecca again and you won't ever fire her again until she decides to quit, you got it?!" he hissed, pushing him against the wall one more time, Jack's head hitting the wall.
"Who are you?" Jack asked, giving him a bewildered look.
"The one that's gonna crash your skull against the wall if you don't do what I said!" Harry scowled, his fist connecting with Jack's jaw.
"Harry!" I hissed.
Jack's head turned to the side and I saw a thin line of blood running from the corner of his lips. Jack looked lost but still gathered. He then nodded as Harry kept his cold glare towards him, finally compeled.
"Good." Harry pulled away. "Now go wash your fucking face before I kill you right here." Harry threatened, giving me chills.
Jack nodded and left the office. I gave Harry a weird look. He looked so kind and cute with that beanie yet he was so violent and hothead. Shaking my head, I let a deep sigh and wrapped my arms around his waist, trying to calm him down.
"You didn't have to punch him." I mumbled, looking up at him.
He ran both hands down his face before placing them on my waist. "Why are you working for this bastard anyway?" he was still angry, nostrils flaring and chest vibrating as he breathed heavily.
"I told you." I sighed.
"If you ever want me to beat the shit out of him tell me." he growled, not looking down at me.
"Why are you so angry?" I asked, raising my brow.
"Because he literally turned you down." he spit. He cleared his throat then, his cheeks reddening a little. "And he called you 'love'. Twice."
I could't help but laugh. Jealous Harry really seemed funny to me.
"Jack's been calling me like that for a long time." I giggled.
"Not anymore." he smirked, finally looking down at me.
"What do you mean? What did you do?" I asked. My eyes widened when he grinned and I understood what he wants to say. "You compelt him to not call me like that?"
"Yep." he bit his lower lip, proudly smiling.
"What-why?" I asked shocked.
"Because I don't want him to. Now I gotta go, see you in 5 hours." he leaned in to kiss my temple before quickly leaving the office.
I was agape. Jealous Harry was so confusing sometimes. Shaking my head, I left Jack's office and went to the kitchen, surprising everyone in there with my appearance. Warm smiles and greets were thrown to my direction and I gladly replied sweetly back to them. They were all so nice people, one of the reasons I didn't want to leave this job, too.
"This restaurant was Hell without you." Jason told me, smiling at me as he cleaned the counter.
Oh, you have no idea in what Hell I've been through.
"I can imagine." I mumbled before grabbing the tie from one of the hangers on the wall.
"Where's-,"
"I'm here!" Niall said out loud as he stepped in, quickly taking off his coat.
"Niall." Monica finished chuckling as she started boiling water.
"Hello, how's everyone?" Niall asked, grinning.
Everyone replied gently, saying they're fine and ready to work. I didn't answer since we've been together with Niall for most of the day today.
"Rebecca, hey, I thought Jack wouldn't take you back to work." Niall's attention was quickly drifted to me.
He was wearing a white button down shirt with black jeans and his blond hair perfectly styled and pushed back. He looked really nice tonight.
"Yeah, but he did, so." I said shrugging as I tied my tie.
"How?" he whispered, confusion laced in his voice.
Harry punched him and compelt him to, that's how.
"He just did." I said casually, trying to hold back a laugh.
"Well, you're lucky then." he winked before stealing a fry from the bowl that was placed on Monica's counter.
"Niall!" Monica yelled, glaring at him as she slammed the counter with her palm.
"What? Didn't do anything bad." Niall shrugged innocently, causing me to giggle.
"Alright, alright." Vicky rushed in, holding her hands in the air. "We already have some hungry costumers out there so, come on guys, get ready!" she said with a bright smile.
Everyone immidiately started doing their own work. They were all in such a good mood and that's what I missed. Not only this job, but the people too. They all always treated me well and we never really fought. Niall had some fights with Monica and Ryan sometimes for eating some of the plates that were destined for the costumers, but we all actually liked each other and that's what made me love this job.
Smiling brightly at Vicky, I grabbed a pensil and a pad before stepping out of the kitchen and heading to the first table to get the orders. I was so excited that I actually talked too sweetly to the costumers, but they were all replying nicely.
That's what I liked about this job. That it really made me feel good and made it normal.
