Sounds coming from the TV were mere background noise as you mindlessly stared at the screen, not paying attention to anything being displayed on it. It was nearing 1 AM and you were nowhere near tired. In all honesty, you're actually rather bored. You'd been sitting with Yunho on his bed watching television for what felt like forever, though it had only been a couple hours.
A long sigh pushed past your lips as you rolled over, laying your head on Yunho's lap. Noticing your actions, he lets out a light chuckle, his fingers moving to run through your hair, relaxing you immediately. You gaze up at him and admire his features, from his bright and always sparkly brown eyes to his pouty and kissable lips. You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth as you studied him, wondering how you'd gotten so lucky.
"Baby?" Yunho glanced down at you. "Are you alright? Your heart is beating really fast."
"Ah." Heat rose to your cheeks. "Sorry. I was just admiring you, that's all."
"Oh." It was his turn to get flustered.
"You know," You started, reaching up to place your hand on Yunho's cheek. "We've been dating for almost six months."
"Six months tomorrow. Not that I'm counting." He tried to fight back a smile.
"It feels like just yesterday we started dating."
"It does."
"Remember when you told me you were a vampire? You thought I would hate you."
"I was worried you would run away." He let out a chuckle, feeling silly for ever thinking you wouldn't accept him.
"But I didn't." You smiled.
"No you didn't and I'm so grateful for that. I don't know what I would have done if you had left me."
"Well obviously you would have found someone else."
"No. I wouldn't have." He shook his head. " adamantly. "You see, when a vampire finds someone who they're meant to be with they have this... feeling. Like they know for sure that's who they're meant to be with."
"Like a soulmate?" You inquired.
"Yeah. Exactly like a soulmate."
"So does that mean I'm your soulmate?"
"Yes." He smiled brightly, his eyes crinkling.
The thought of you and Yunho being destined for each other made your heart flip.
"Is there any other fun facts about soulmates I should know about?" You asked, curious to l learn more. "For example, do they have a special connection or something?"
"Yes..." He trailed off, furrowing his eyebrows. "But that's something I haven't really gotten around to yet."
You sat up, moving to sit in his lap.
"What do you mean?" You questioned.
He breathed out heavily in preparation before continuing. "A vampire has to mark their soulmate so other vampires will know. Marking also makes their connection stronger. Like, for example, if I were to mark you we'd be more connected to each other and I would be able to find you easier if you ever needed help. We would sort of be linked in a way. Not to mention it'll help you stay protected from other vampires. They don't usually go for humans who are marked."
Wow.
This new information was both surprising and intriguing. Creating a bond through a bite? It's fascinating.
"Why haven't you done it yet?" You spoke your thoughts aloud.
If there were all these positive benefits to being marked, then why had he not already done it?
Yunho seemed to get a bit shy at your question, his cheeks tinting pink. "Because I wanted to wait until the right time. I want it to be special."
Your expression softened.
"Aw." You gushed, giving his cheeks a light squeeze. "So cute."
He caught you by surprise as he grabbed your wrists, pushing you forward until you landed on your back, his actions catching you off guard. His face moved closer to yours as he hovered over you, his large frame looming over your smaller one.
This took an unexpected turn.
"Am I cute now?" His eyes flashed red.
"Hey, you know how that makes me feel." You scold him.
"Why do you think I did it?" He smirked playfully.
A dark blush crept onto your cheeks in response.
He wasted no time latching his lips to yours, kissing you feverishly right away. His hands let go of your wrists to plant themselves on your waist, squeezing your hips. Your eyelids instinctively fluttered shut as soon as his lips made contact with yours, getting lost in the kiss. Your hands moved up, catching the back of his neck to pull him closer, your fingers tangling in his dark hair, tugging at the inky strands.
He sighed deeply into the kiss, tilting his head just enough to slot your mouths closer together, intensifying the kiss. His lips began trailing down your jawline and neck causing your heart to jump, but not from fear. He trailed his nose along the sensitive skin of your neck, sending a light shiver down your spine.
"You smell really good, baby." He hummed against your skin, your eyelids fluttering in response.
"I thought you just fed a few days ago." You responded breathlessly, hardly able to focus.
"I did, but you're so irresistible." He sighed. "It's almost impossible to not have a little taste."
"Go ahead, Yunho. But be gentle."
"Always." He smirked, pressing a gentle kiss to your neck in preparation. It was something he always did in order to not only make you feel more comfortable, but prepare you for what was to come.
Your eyes closed on their own, feeling the familiar light sting of his fangs as they pierced your skin. The pain dissipated quickly, leaving you with a feeling of dazed comfort. Your fingers ran through Yunho's hair as he fed, letting out satisfied sighs as he did so.
He pulled away once he was satisfied, licking the excess blood off his lips, allowing himself one, last taste. Yunho was always careful and made sure not to take too much from you. That's one of the reasons why you don't mind him feeding from you. He was always gentle and caring, plus, you can never say no to him.
"Are you okay?" He asked, gently stroking your cheek.
"Mhm." You nod, mind still in a fog. He always had that effect on you.
"Thank you. That was a nice treat." He winked.
You covered your face, trying to hide the blush creeping onto your cheeks. Yunho wrapped his arms around your waist, rolling you over to where you were lying on top of him. You gazed into his eyes, watching as his red irises faded back to their original deep brown.
"We should do something tomorrow. Something special for our anniversary."
"Like what?" You inquired.
"How about Namsan Tower?" He suggested.
"Namsan Tower?" You echoed. "Really?"
"Yeah. It'll be really romantic."
"I bet the view from there is beautiful."
"Especially at night." Yunho added. "Can you imagine all the city lights?"
A small smile spreads across your lips as you picture yourself standing at the top Namsan Tower looking at the shimmering city lights with Yunho.
It'll be like a scene straight out of a kdrama.
"So, you wanna go?" He asked, pulling you from your daydream.
"Of course I do." You answered, resting your head on his broad chest. "What time should we leave?"
"How about 6:00? We can stop and get some street food on the way. I know how much you like that."
"Mmm." You hummed. "That sounds perfect."
"I can be at your place at 6:00. Does that work?"
"Mhm." You nodded, a yawn slipping past your lips.
"Are you sleepy?" He asked running his fingers through your hair, his actions only making you more drowsy.
You hummed in response, nodding.
"You should just spend the night. You seem sleepy."
"Okay." You murmured.
Yunho got you up out of bed and tossed you one of his shirts to wear along with some sweatpants. Giving him a grateful smile, you went into the bathroom and changed. Luckily, you keep a toiletry bag at Yunho's place for times like these when you decide to stay the night last minute. The pouch was equipped with a travel toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, spare razor, anything you might need for an overnight stay.
When you finished cleaning up, you walked back into Yunho's bedroom to see that he was already in the bed waiting for you.
"Come here, baby." He pulled the covers back, beckoning you to the soft mattress.
You crawled into bed next to him, immediately getting pulled into his chest. You snuggled closer to him right away, pulling the covers up higher. Being wrapped in his comforting embrace was slowly bringing the drowsiness back, your eyelids getting droopy.
"Sleep well, angel." Yunho whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your shoulder.

You let out a gentle sigh as you rolled over in bed, starting to stretch your stiff arms only to be withheld by someone's embrace. With drowsy eyes, you glanced over to find Yunho fast asleep, his arms still wrapped around your frame. An unconscious smile graced your features as you admired his adorable sleeping figure. As if he sensed you had woken up, his his eyes opened, a small smile making its way onto his lips.
"Good morning." He greeted, his voice low and gruff.
His deep morning voice never failed to send a warm rush across your cheeks.
"Morning." You greeted drowsily, ruffling his hair. "What time is it?"
"Almost 1 PM."
"Oh man." You chuckled. "I should say good afternoon then."
He let out a faint chortle. "Good afternoon."
"That's later than I intended to sleep."
"It's okay. That just means you got to stay with me a little longer."
"You're the clingiest vampire I've ever met."
"I'm the only vampire you've ever met." He corrected.
"Yeah, alright, you have a point. Anyway, I should probably head home." You mentioned as you pushed yourself up into a sitting position.
"What? Why?" He pouted.
"I gotta get a shower and stuff. I want to look good for our special anniversary date tonight."
He stared at you for a long moment, contemplating wether or not he should talk you into staying just a bit longer, but was quick to drop it. "Fine. I'll text you when I leave to pick you up okay?"
"Sounds good." You nod, gathering your things and slipping your shoes on. "I'll return your clothes when I see you tonight."
"Works for me, but you should know I'm in no hurry to get them back." He grins, rolling over onto his stomach.
"You know I'll return them anyway."
"I know." He chuckled. "Can I get a goodbye kiss before you go?"
You leaned down and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"See you tonight, Yunho."
After returning home, you made yourself something quick to eat to hold you over until you met up with Yunho. You then got in the shower and did your skincare routine afterwards. To pass the time, you searched your wardrobe for something to wear later that evening, pulling out a few articles of clothing to choose from later.
Keeping yourself busy worked wonders because 6:00 rolled around much quicker than you expected. Standing in front of your full length mirror, you gave a once-over to your reflection, making sure you looked alright. Yunho's clothes had been washed and were now neatly folded and ready to be returned. He texted you just a few minutes ago, letting you know he was on his way and that he should be there any minute.
As if on cue, there was a knock at the door, signaling his arrival. You stood up from the couch and gathered your things before answering the door.
"Hi, lovely." He grinned, leaning against the doorframe.
"Hey handsome. Here's your clothes."
"Oh you washed them and everything. Thanks." He smiled softly. "You ready to go?"
You glanced around, making sure you didn't forget anything before answering. "I think so."
"Alright let's go then." Yunho took your hand in his larger one and led you to the car.
After a short drive to the city, you arrived at Namsan Tower. Yunho parked the vehicle and the both of you got out and started walking down the street to peruse the vendors.
"Ah. It all smells so good." You hummed.
It had been a while since you last ate and the smell of all of the food around you made your mouth water.
"What are you in the mood for?" Yunho asked.
"Honestly, anything."
He hummed thoughtfully as his eyes scanned the area, taking note of what each vendor sold. "Spicy rice cakes, dumplings, ramen, gimbap, scallion pancakes, or maybe a corn dog." He listed off, seeing if any of them grabbed your attention.
"You can't go wrong with ramen, but I'd also like something that we can eat quickly. I want to make it in time to see the sunset from the tower."
"Then let's get something like dumplings or scallion pancakes."
"Alright." You nodded.
After deciding on a quick and easy meal to eat, the both of you sat down in a tent to enjoy your purchases.
"This was a good choice." You gestured to the food in front of you.
"I agree." Yunho nodded.
"What does food taste like to you?" You questioned.
You knew Yunho could eat regular food, but you never thought to ask what it tasted like.
"Like regular food."
"So, you can still enjoy it?"
"Sort of. It tastes the way I remember it, and it's good, but it doesn't really satisfy me like it used to."
By the time the two of you finished eating, it was nearing 7:00 and the sun was beginning to set, so you headed to Namsan Tower.
"This is the perfect time." You commented as you stepped into the elevator. "By the time we get up there the sunset will be so pretty."
"I timed it just right, didn't I?" Yunho grinned.
"You did."
The both of you stepped out of the elevator and walked out on the top floor balcony that overlooked the city of Seoul. The sky was made up of many vibrant shades of orange, purple, and pink; each hue blending in perfectly with the other.
"Wow." You whispered in awe as you made your way to the railing to get a better view.
"It's beautiful isn't it?"
"This has got to be one of the most stunning sunsets I've ever seen." You marveled. "It looks so much better from up here."
Yunho's hand found yours, his long fingers intertwining with your own as both of you focused on the breathtaking view before you, taking in its beauty. As the sun neared the horizon, the colors in became more vibrant.
You let go of Yunho's hand for a moment to fish your phone out of your pocket, snapping a few photos of the evening.
Over the next few minutes, the sky got darker and city lights became brighter until they were the only thing illuminating the view below.
"Y/n?" Yunho called softly, grabbing your attention.
You turned towards him, letting him know that all of your focus was on him.
"I know it's only been six months and that might not be a very long time, they've been the best six months of my life. You are so special to me and I couldn't ask for anyone else to be with. When I'm with you, everything feels right." He professed. "It doesn't matter if we're going on adventures or just spending time at home. I cherish every moment with you."
You were a little caught off guard by his heartfelt confession. It was your anniversary, so you expected him to say something sweet, but you never expected anything quite like that.
"Yunho." You gushed, tugging him into a tight hug.
He pulled back to look at you for a moment, his free hand coming up to cup your cheek gingerly. His gaze lingered on your face for a few seconds before he leaned in and pressed a long and loving kiss to your lips.
Neither of you were focused on the people around you as you held each other, your lips locked. To you and Yunho, the both of you were the only ones on that balcony.
After parting ways, you rested your head on his chest and turned your eyes to the night view, watching the headlights from the cars as they moved down the street below.
You stayed for a few more minutes before deciding to head home for the night.
When you and Yunho stepped into the elevator you had a strange feeling that someone was watching you. You were quick to brush off the weird premonition as the elevator doors closed, the mechanism taking you down to the ground floor. Upon arriving at the lobby, the two of you stepped out if the elevator and left the building headed back to Yunho's car.
You linked your arm with his and started walking a bit closer to him as the both of you headed down the street. The vendors had closed up shop for the night, leaving the surrounding area looking vacant.
That weird feeling began creeping up on you once again, but this time you decided to speak up.
"Yunho." You whispered, keeping your voice low.
"Mhm?" He hummed.
"Something's not right."
"I know. Your heart has been racing since we got into the elevator." He commented, his demeanor calm despite the eeriness of the situation. "I've got a bad feeling too. Let's just get to the car."
You nod and the both of you start to walk a little faster, Yunho's vehicle coming into view.
Truthfully, Yunho had been feeling like someone was watching the both of you since you'd sat down to eat earlier that evening, but it was your special date night so he chose not to say anything. He could tell whoever it was that was watching you was bad news.
Everything will be alright. Yunho mentally assured himself.
His car wasn't too far ahead, maybe you guys would make it there safely.
Just then, a dark figure stepped out in the street, stopping both of you in your tracks.
"That's a nice smelling girl you have." The stranger commented, staring at you with menacing, bright red eyes.
It was what Yunho feared. Another vampire had been following you.
"Hey, back off." Yunho spoke threateningly. "She's mine."
"Really? I don't see that you've marked her." The man grinned wickedly. "So, the way I see it is she's free for the taking."
"I said back off." Yunho's eyes flashed red as he pushed you behind him in a protective manner.
"I'm not scared of you, kid." The vampire hissed.
"You should be." Yunho growled angrily, lunging at him.
The vampire easily dodged the attack and immediately went for Yunho, knocking him to the pavement. He let out a grunt, rolling himself on his back as he recovered from the impact.
You watched worriedly from a distance as the two fought. Your brain screamed at you to do something, anything, but you knew you couldn't. You didn't stand a chance against a vampire. Intervening in this fight would be self-slaughter.
At some point, Yunho managed to get the upper hand and pin the vampire to the pavement with his knee. Yunho's hands were wrapped tightly around the man's neck, eyes blazing red with anger, fangs bared. He was seething with rage, which you had never seen.
"You lay one finger on her and I'll kill you." Yunho growled, his voice deep and animalistic.
You unconsciously took a step back in shock. This was a side of Yunho you hadn't seen before.
"G-get off me!" The vampire coughed.
"Tell me you'll go find someone else."
The vampire struggled under Yunho's death grip, his hands trying to pry his fingers away.
"Yeah, right." He choked out. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Say you'll find someone else!" Yunho snarled, his fingers tightening around the vampire's neck, ready to snap his head off.
"Okay, okay, okay!"
Yunho let go of the offender immediately and stood up, watching as he coughed, rubbing his neck.
"Leave." Yunho demanded in an eerily calm manner.
The vampire disappeared from sight almost instantly, not wanting to stick around and see what happened if he didn't listen.
Meanwhile, you were backed against a car parked on the street, your heart racing wildly from the intense fight you'd just witnessed. That was the scariest thing you had ever experienced and seeing Yunho being so protective was both hot and horrifying.
Yunho's stern expression dropped from his face immediately as he turned and ran over, embracing your trembling body.
"Y/n." He breathed. "Are you okay? Are you alright?"
"I'm fine. Just shaken up." You responded. "Is he gone?"
You saw him run off and he seemed really scared, but you needed to know he was truly gone.
"Yeah. He's not coming back. C'mon, let's get you home."
You nodded in agreement, allowing Yunho to gently assist in leading you to his car.
Even though you were inside the vehicle, you didn't quite feel safe.
"Can you lock the doors?" You asked quietly.
"Of course, love."
The ride home was quiet, not much was said besides Yunho asking every so often if you were okay.
Once back at your place, he walked you inside and escorted you to your room.
"You should go change into something comfortable." He suggested in a gentle tone.
You nodded wordlessly and stepped into your bedroom. A minute or so passes and you open the door, now wearing your pajamas. Yunho stands against the wall across from your room.
"Are you alright, angel?" He asked.
"Yeah. Can you stay the night?"
"Sure." He smiled softly.
"Thank you."
"I've got those clothes you returned to me sitting in my car. I'll go get them."
He was only gone for a few seconds before he was standing in front of you again, the stack of clothes in his hand.
"It's times like this when I'm thankful for that vampire speed of yours." You chuckled lightly. "You can change in the bathroom."
He gave a small nod and took off.
You heaved a long sigh and made your way over to the bed, pulling back the covers. Though you're still a little shaken from the events that took place earlier, you were also ready to relax for the night.
Yunho returned to the bedroom, setting his discarded clothes on your dresser. He carefully took a seat on the opposite side of the bed, sliding under the covers and moving closer to you.
"Sorry tonight wasn't perfect." He sighed.
"It was perfect."
"You almost got attacked."
"But I didn't. What I did do is spend time with my wonderful boyfriend."
"Yeah, you did." He blushed, letting out a few light giggles.
"You know, it was kind of hot seeing you fight for me like that." You admitted, your cheeks becoming warm at your own confession.
One of Yunho's brows raised in amusement. "Oh, really?"
You nodded bashfully. "I've never seen you like that. You're usually so bright and cheerful."
He smirked. "So you like dark Yunho, huh?"
"Dark Yunho." You snorted.
"Well?"
"A little."
He chuckled, pressing a kiss to your temple.
A comfortable silence fell over the room for a few moments. The lack of noise brought a few thoughts to your mind, one being the attack and how it could have been prevented.
"Yunho?" Your voice cut through the quietness.
"Yes?"
"Can you mark me now?"
His eyes widened a little. He hadn't expected you to say that, especially so suddenly.
"This isn't how I imagined it happening."
"It doesn't have to be rose petals and candles, Yunho. It'll be special right here, right now."
He took in a deep breath, his eyes lingering on yours for a few moments before answering.
"You're right." He agreed, gently guiding you to turn towards him.
Your heart jumped with anticipation.
"This feels a little sudden." He mentioned.
"It is, but spontaneity can be a good thing."
At your words, he brushed your hair back and exposed your neck, his fingers tracing over your skin.
"This will feel similar to when I feed from you, but a little different." He informed you.
"Okay." You responded, leaning closer to him.
Your breath hitched when his lips ghosted over your sensitive skin, your eyelids fluttering in response. He pressed a few soft kisses around the area he prepared to bite.
"I love you so much." He whispered against your neck before burying his fangs into your skin.
A light hiss leaves you as you clutch onto his shoulders to distract yourself from the initial sting of his bite. His hands start to run over your back in a soothing manner, letting you know everything is alright. You could feel him taking a little bit of blood as the quiet sounds of him gulping it down reached your ears. His arms wrapped tighter around your waist, pulling your body flush against his as he fed.
The stinging feeling in your neck subsided and was replaced with a strong feeling that blossomed in your chest, one you couldn't really describe. Your heart swelled with adoration as a wave of emotions hit you all at once. Love, attraction, fondness, warmth. A sudden gasp escapes you at the sudden rush and you feel your bond growing stronger.
Your hands unconsciously grip at Yunho's shirt, your fingers curling tightly around the fabric, unable to handle all these intense emotions. Then just like that, he pulled away. His eyes are hooded and have changed to their vampiric crimson color. He seemed to be just as dazed as you. He let out a heavy breath from his blood-stained lips.
"Are you alright?" He questioned breathlessly as his eyes searched your face for any sign of pain.
"I'm... overwhelmed." You huffed out.
He licked the blood off his lips, his eyes slowly dimming back to their gentle brown hue. "Me too."
Yunho lied down in bed, pulling you with him.
"I've never felt such strong emotions in my life." You mentioned.
"I know. That's how I feel about you all the time."
"Really?"
"Mhm." He glanced down at your neck, a proud look on his face as his fingertips lightly brush over the tender skin. "That mark won't go away for a couple weeks."
"What happens when it goes away?" You inquired.
"It'll still be there. Humans can't see it, but vampires can. They'll know who you belong to and will be less likely to attack."
"Good." You breathe a sigh of relief and turn off the bedside lamp before scooting as close to Yunho as you can, making yourself comfortable.
His arms are quick to wrap around your smaller frame, caging you in.
"Thank you, Y/n."
"No, thank you, Yunho."
He gave you a soft kiss on the lips before lying back on the pillow.
"I love you." You murmured, your eyelids slowly sliding shut as drowsiness took over.
"I love you too."
