Halloween Special

(Note: This does not take place during the regular story; this is just a little story of its own)

I woke up to notice that a notification was on my phone.

~(˘▾˘~)Halloween Today (~˘▾˘)~

I let out a sigh as I realized what's today.

'Well, at least I'm in a new area, so now I can watch little kids go around in their costumes.'

What a creep.

'Well, that's what I've done for years. At least I now don't have to go into a cafe to watch people go about in costumes.'

Still a creep.

I put on my glasses and make my way into the bathroom to clean up and get dressed. Before I left, I threw in my contacts, then my glasses, and made my way to the kitchen to make a bottle of lemon water. That should last me all day, right? I'm not going to eat. This will be sufficient enough. I then walked over to the window and looked out at the sky.

'Wow, the morning sky looks so beautiful.'

I then pulled out my phone and took a picture. After that I went back to my room and played video games. When about four hours passed, I felt that my phone buzzed in my pocket. I paused my game and looked at my phone. I saw I had gotten a text from Mina.

(Funny story about the name Mina. So, for my online lab I'm taking Gothic Literature and I had to read the story Dracula. In the story there is a character who's name is Mina and every time it came up, the image of Mina from BNHA popped in my head. I Pictured her doing whatever the character in Dracula was doing. It started to get annoying but it was kinda funny at the same time. *Ahem* Sorry for the interruption.)

Mina: Hey Y/N we were wondering if you'd like to join us for a Halloween party at the dorm tonight since Halloween is on a Saturday this year. 🎃👻

I then reply.

Me: Yeah, sure; I'll attend. What time is it?

Mina: It starts at five. ✋

Me: Great thanks! Oh, do I have to dress up?

Mina: Uhh yeah! Duh! Of course you have to dress up! 🧛‍♀️

Me: Okay...see you then.

Mina: Can't wait!!! 🥳

I can never understand how she's always excited about something even when she's texting. I then started to think what I should dress up as. I looked around my room to see if I could salvage anything. I then remembered that I had a white sheet that was torn at the corner which was why I didn't use it anymore; it would never stay in place and always popped up. I decided to go with the cliché ghost. I cut out the elastic from the corners and two eye holes. I then tried it on and looked at myself in the mirror.

'Hmm...it feels like it's missing something...but what?'

I realized that I should get a pair of those novelty glasses with a big nose and mustache. I quickly threw on a pair of jeans and took some money which I put in my hoodie pocket along with the keys, then made my way to the door to put on my shoes. While I was putting on my shoes, Yamada stopped on his way to the kitchen to ask me something.

"Were you going, Y/N?"

He startled me, causing me to stand up quickly, "Oh, I'm off to the store to see if I can find something."

"What are you looking for?" He asked.

My face started to get hot and probably red, "Well, it may sound stupid but...I'm looking for a pair of novelty glasses." I then bent over to continue tying my shoe.

He raised an eyebrow, "Why on earth would you want one of those?"

"Well, you see, Mina texted me saying that they were throwing a Halloween party at the dorm and they invited me to join them. She said that I have to dress up so for my costume I need...well I don't need but I would like to add them to my costume. I'm going as the cliché ghost...which is just a white sheet. Oh, also, do any of you's own a sewing machine or a needle and thread by the least?" I tried to explain.

He laughed then said with a smile, "Yeah, I have a sewing machine in my closet; you can use it. What color of thread do you need?"

"White."

He put a hand on his hip, closed his eyes and looked up as he tried to recall if he had that color. He then opened his eyes and shook his head as he looked at me, "Sorry, I don't have white thread."

I was already standing at this point. I then put my hand on the door knob and said just before I opened the door, "Alright, I'll pick up some while I'm out." I then opened the door and said over my shoulder with a wave, "Well then, see ya later."

"Yeah, see ya."

The door closed behind me and I was on my way. I walked down the sidewalk of the complex, then to the sidewalk of the street. I walked past hundreds of Halloween displays. I liked to see them cause Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the spooks, the costumes, and the coolness that is in the air. I wish it was like this all year round. Anyway, when I made it to the first store that I wanted to look at, I found some thread that was on sale, but not the glasses. I then decided to look in a store which had Halloween costumes and other merchandise as such. The second store that I looked in didn't have what I was looking for, but the third time's the charm. The third store that I walked into had what I was looking for and it was pretty cheap too.

While I was in line, waiting to purchase the novelty glasses, someone came up behind me and startled me by saying my name out of nowhere.

"Oh, hi Y/N."

I turned around to see Uraraka with her usual bright smile.

"Oh hey Uraraka. What are you doing here?" I asked

She replied, "Just getting some odds and ends for both my costume and the party tonight. Hey, did anyone invite you to the party?"

I nodded my head as I answered, "Yep, Mina texted me earlier. Now here I am, getting something for my costume that I'm making."

We both then took a step towards the register since the person who was being helped left finally. I was now next in line.

"That's cool, making your own costume. Are you sure that you'll have enough time?" she asked as she tilted her head to the side.

I waved my hand, "Oh, of course I will. All I have to do is glue this stupid thing on then I'm done."

"That's good that it's that simple. What are you going as? I'm going as a witch."

With a mischievous smile I said, "You'll see when I arrive."

We then took another step. I was now at the counter and put the glasses on the counter. We still continued to talk though.

Uraraka then said with a smile, "I can't wait to see what it is now!"

"Yeah?" I handed the money to the store clerk.

She added, "I'm sure that it's going to be something extravagant since you're making it. You're so creative that I think it will be way better than everyone else's. I think that's because I saw your doodles before and those are really good."

A little shy smile crept to my face as I said sheepishly, "Thank you" She nodded her head with a smile. I then gathered up the bag and said before I left, "Well then, see ya later."

She then waved with a smile, "Bye, see you then."

I started my trek back to the apartment. The sidewalks seemed more busy now that it had started to get a little later in the day. It took longer to get back home rather than going to the stores. When I unlocked the door and walked in, I was greeted by Aizawa asking where I was.

"Where did you go?" he asked as he popped his head from around the corner which made me think that he was probably in the kitchen.

I held up the bag which had the glasses and the thread that I bought, "I had to pick up some things."

"Like what?"

I took off my shoes and put a foot on the first step of the staircase, "You'll see when I get done." I then took another step but then went back one to quickly ask, "Did Yamada bring out the sewing machine?"

He then looked over his shoulder, "So is that way it's sitting on the table?"

I then said under my breath as I started towards my room, "I'll take that as a yes."

When I got to my room I picked up the holey sheet which was draped over the back of the sofa and brought it down to the sewing machine. When I made it to the table, I sat down and put the spool of thread through the machine so then I'd be able to sew up the sheet. I figured that I should sew up the one unintentional hole which was in the corner of my costume, and the corners where I took the elastic out from. Though it's a quickly thrown together costume, I still want it to look nice. Just as I was going to sew up the tare on the corner, I heard the front door open and close.

Yamada walked in from the entryway and asked, "Do you know how to run one of those?"

I lay the sheet on my lap, "Of course I do. I used to mend my family's clothes from a young age."

He then said as he walked over to the couch and sat down. "It's a good skill to learn." Yamada joined Aizawa on the sofa.

"Yep...it is." I said while I picked up the sheet from my lap and started to sew up the hole.

After about thirty or so minutes, I had finished the job. Now all I had to do was glue the glasses onto the sheet.

As I walked to the stairs to go up to my room I said, "Thank you for letting me use your sewing machine."

He said, not taking his eyes off of the TV, "No problem; anytime."

When I got to my room I put on the costume and to see if it would look good together. It did; so I took off the bows of the glasses and used hot glue to fasten it to the sheet. After I glued the glasses on, I looked in the mirror.

'Wow, this turned out better than what I thought it to be.'

Why have a sheet over your face? Now you can't scare people, though isn't that what Halloween is supposed to be? To scare off evil spirits? Now you're just going to invite them with your face covered.

'Fuck off, let me enjoy my favorite holiday.'

Never!

While I was still in costume I walked down to the living room and stood by the chair which had its back to the dining room.

"So, what do you guys think of my costume?"

Yamada snorted then laughed hysterically while Aizawa laughed a little too. Once Yamada calmed down he said as he wiped a tear from his eye, "Man, I love it! For something you just threw together on short notice, it looks great!"

Aizawa asked confused, "Wait, you made that?"

"Yeah."

"How long did it take?" Yamada asked.

I looked to the clock then said, "I guess about an hour and a half, not even that? It took longer to get the glasses and thread rather than make it."

Aizawa then asked, "Why did you make a costume?"

Yamada answered for me, "She got invited to a Halloween party by your class. Right, Y/N?"

I nodded my head, "Yeah"

"Where is it at?" Aizawa asked, sounding as if he was a parent.

"The dorms." I replied.

"Alright, just don't make a huge mess. Also, if Bakugo starts something with Midoriya, try to break it up please. If it gets out of hand, call me."

"Yes, sir." I said sort of quietly.

Yamada then burst out laughing again, "Gees, I cannot take you seriously in that thing."

Aizawa then sighed and said just as I started to leave for my room, "Alright Zashi, calm down."

Just as I made it to the loft I overheard them talking.

"I can't help but feel like a proud parent that she's growing up and going to a party with her classmates. I mean, I haven't been around her for quite too long but I just have the feeling for some reason." Yamada whispered quite loudly.

I covered my mouth trying not to laugh.

Aizawa let out a sigh, "I agree. Though we haven't been around her much since she's always in her room or either we're on patrol duty; I too feel like we have raised her."

At this point, instead of laughing, I wanted to cry because I felt like I have better parent figures now than what my real ones were. Not to mention that I practically have three now.

While I was waiting to get ready for the party, I decided that I should play some guitar; but I wasn't sure what one I wanted to play. I closed my eyes, spun around and pointed to what I was going to play. When I opened my eyes I saw that I was pointing to the ukulele. I then took it out of its case and tuned it before I played it. I then sang songs while I played a few songs. When it was 4:45 I started to get ready. I threw on my black hoodie and black jeans then walked down to the entryway with my costume draped over my arm.

"Leaving already?" Aizawa asked as he was walking into his bedroom.

"Yep." I said as I put on my black flats.

He yawned before he said, "Don't stay out too late." Then walked into his room and closed the door.

Yamada quickly popped around the corner, "Are you sure that you're not dressing as Sho? Cause that's what it looks like."

I sarcastically said as I stood up right, "Yeah, change of plan; I decided to go as Aizawa. Easier than being a ghost."

He chuckled with a smile as he said, "Have fun then!"

I threw the sheet over me as I said, "Yeah...I'll try". I then teleported to the 1-A dorm.

When I arrived to the dorm, I noticed that I was outside of the front doors. I slowly entered, unsure since I have never been to the dorms.

"Is that you Y/N?" Mina asked as she leaned towards me.

"Yep."

"Alright! Now we can officially start this thing!" She turned around to holler to everyone else, "Hey guys, Y/N's here!" She then turned towards me, "Here, follow me."

As I entered the commons I fell in love with the decorations. They had rubber bats hanging from the ceiling, cut outs of many classic monsters, there were various games to play and even a few light bulbs were switched out with red ones.

Mina then left me as she said, "Do whatever you'd like, just don't set fire to the stuff." She then whispered to me, "We already had to tell Bakugo that. We had to send Uraraka on a mission earlier today to get some replacement stuff."

"I see."

"Well then, have fun!" She then walked off.

I was now alone. Though this is my class, I wasn't sure what to do. I'm not too good in crowds. When I was standing there Bakugo came up to me.

"Great, now we have two ghosts." He said angrily but then added, sounding

as if he approved of it, "But yours is still looks better than Deku's." He then continued with his normal angered tone, "It looks shitty though. What did you do? Make it today?"

I replied in an innocent tone, "Yes, yes I did."

He then looked off to the side and said before storming off, "Oh."

After he left I was alone once again.

'Maybe I shouldn't have come. What if I'm disrupting everyone's fun. I-I should leave'

I turned around to go to the door but Tsu now came up to me.

"Where ya going? Ribbit."

I turned around to face her, "N-nowhere."

"Follow me, ribbit. Midoriya was asking where you were."

"Okay." I then followed her to Midoriya. He was standing in a group with Todoroki to his right, Uraraka to his left and Iida to Uraraka's left.

Midoriya looked to me and said in a big smile along with a cheerful tone, "There you are! I'm glad that you are able to attend. Also, where did you get your costume? I like your's better than mine nearly!"

I was flattered, "T-thank you. I actually made it myself earlier today."

Uraraka then added, "Oh yeah, that's right; I bumped into you earlier today in the check out line." She tilted her head to one side, "I'm happy that you chose to surprise us with it. I love it! And for being home made, it's sure put together well."

I repeated, "Thank you."

After that pretty much everyone in the commons surrounded me and started to compliment me on the costume. I don't see why though. It wasn't even that good looking the more that I thought of it. All it was was just an old sheet and a pair of novelty glasses. After a few seconds I started to freak out a little since there were so many people surrounding me. Thank god that everyone dispersed after a minute cause I don't know how much longer I was able to stand there in the midst of an anxiety attack.

After everyone separated from surrounding me, Mina called to everyone," Alright guys, let's start the games! We'll start with Aoyama."

I guess that nearly everyone had thought of and set up a game. When Aoyama got what he needed ready, he explained the rules. It turned out that we played a little game of laser tag. Since I have never played it before I kinda didn't do good in the beginning but as it went on I got more and more people out. In the end I was third to the last person to get out. It was a showdown between Iida (of all people) and Bakugo (go figure). When Iida joined Midoriya, everyone else and I, he explained that he did his movement strategically which caused him to win.

When we were through with playing everyone's games who did one, we had to tally up all of the rounds that we won, then who had the most points won a prize. Mineta tried to pull the wool over our eyes by saying that he had the most points; he had said a number bigger than how many games than what we actually played. We played a total of fifteen games and out of that I had won a whopping five. The rest of the points went to Bakugo (6pts), Ojiro (1pts), Iida (1pts), Midoriya (1pts) and Todoroki (1pts). The prize was whatever the winner wanted- within reason. Since Bakugo was the winner he chose that no one would bother or talk to him the next day.

After we completed the games and tallying up the points, we just sat around talking for a while. After thirty or so minutes I decided that I should head back. After I said my goodbyes to everyone and everyone said their goodbyes to me, I teleported back home. When I arrived on the rug in front of the door to take off my shoes, I noticed that the living room light was still on along with the TV. I slid off my shoes at the same time that I pulled off the costume and draped it over my left arm. I then walked to the living room to see if anyone was there, otherwise I'd shut off the light and TV. As I walked closer to the sofa I noticed that Aizawa was laying on top of Yamada as they were both sleeping. I silently draped the costume over the back of a chair then shut off the TV and dimmed the light a little so that it would be easier for them to sleep. I also noticed that Yamada still had his glasses on. I went back and forth with myself, debating if I should take them off or not.

'Should I take them off? What if he or Aizawa moves and bumps his glasses, it could bend them.'

It's none of your business.

'True, but I could prevent his glasses from possibly getting broke.'

True, but it's still none of your business.

In the end I decided to take off his glasses and carefully lay them on the coffee table. I also gathered up a blanket and covered them since it was a little cold outside and they too looked a little cold. After contending with them, I went to bed after taking a quick shower. Just before I climbed into bed I crept out to see if I woke them up while I was getting ready for bed; I didn't. They were still sound asleep. After that I got comfy in my bed and drifted off to sleep as I was welcomed by the warmth of the soft blankets.
