Your gaze stayed fixed on the long mirror resting against your bedroom wall as you inspected your appearance, trying to figure out if you liked the outfit you chose or not. Your plans for the day consisted of a fun afternoon out at the amusement park, so it's not like you had to dress nice. However this was a date so you wanted to dress practically but also look good for him.
After staring at your reflection for a few more seconds, you came to the conclusion that what you had on was perfectly fine and decided to start on your makeup. Taking at seat at the small makeup vanity in your bedroom, you grabbed a headband and slipped it on to keep your hair away from your face and started applying primer when your phone buzzed, putting your makeup routine to a halt.

You proceeded with your makeup routine until you heard a knock at the front door. Standing up from your chair, you went to answer it, your heart pounding with excitement. Mingi stood on your doorstep smiling brightly, clad in an oversized t-shirt and a pair of shorts, his long legs on display. It wasn't often you got to see him in shorts, so you made sure to savor it.
"Hi cutie." He greeted, stepping inside to wrap his arms around you.
"Hi." You greeted as he leaned down to press a soft kiss to your forehead.
Your arms tightened around his slender waist while resting your head against his chest. In response, Mingi held you more snugly to him, perching his chin on the top of your head as one of his hands rubbed up and down your back. His hugs were the best and never failed to leave you feeling comforted. It wasn't often you got to spend time with him face to face, so moments like these where you could hold him were ones you relished.
After standing in the doorway for a few moments clinging to each other, you pulled away and allowed him to fully step inside while you closed the door.
"You look pretty." He told you, his eyes moving up and down your figure.
"I'm literally only halfway through my makeup routine."
"Still pretty." He grinned. "You don't even need makeup. I like you just the way you are."
"That's cheesy."
"But true."
Cheesy or not, it still made your heart flutter.
Mingi followed you to your room and watched as you finished applying your makeup. You offered him a seat on the bed so he'd be more comfortable, but he insisted on standing so he could observe you.
His big, brown eyes seemed to sparkle as he watched you carefully apply each product, in awe of how flawless you made everything look. At one point he even complimented your makeup skills and said that you should be his makeup artist.
"I don't think I'm that good at it." You snorted.
"Sure you are."
"How was practice?" You questioned, changing the subject.
"Hard." He pouted. "But it wasn't too bad. We only practiced for two hours today even though we were doing a new routine. We just learned it last week and of course Yunho picked up the choreography right away. I don't know how he does it."
"I can't believe you had dance practice and still made plans to go to the amusement park."
"If I wanna see you or you wanna see me, I'll make it happen whether I have practice or not."
"This guy." You chuckled to yourself. "You ought to be resting."
"And miss out on a fun day at the amusement park with you? Not a chance."
After you finished getting ready, you grabbed the small bag you packed for the day and headed to the amusement park. The ride down there was fun, as usual. Part of it consisted of the both of you belting out song lyrics, the other half was Mingi sharing funny stories from practice that day. Some of those stories, while hilarious, made you wonder how those boys get any work done.
When you arrived at the theme park, you practically dragged Mingi out of the car and towards the line of people waiting to buy tickets.
"I'm so excited I can hardly wait." You squeaked, bouncing up and down.
"Me too." Mingi agreed, grabbing your hands as he started jumping up and down with you.
The two of you probably looked like idiots but you could care less. It had been a while since you last went to an amusement park so your overexcited and childlike behavior was warranted.
Mingi was kind enough to pay for both your admission fees when you got to the ticket booth. After paying, you each got a stamp on the back of your hands and walked through the front gates.
"Which ride should we go on first?" He asked while rubbing his hands together in anticipation, his eyes roaming excitedly around the park.
"How about the pirate ship? I like that one. Plus it's the closest ride so it would make a great starting point."
Mingi nodded eagerly and pulled you over to stand in line. To your luck, you made it onto the ride within a couple minutes, taking a seat on the far left side of the ride.
"I hear this is the best spot if you really wanna get the thrills." You mentioned as the safety bar came down over your laps.
Mingi was practically squirming with excitement as he watched the last few people board the ride. A few seconds after everyone was settled in, the ride started to move. The giant pirate ship lurched forward, then back, the movements repeating. With each pass it began to go higher and faster as it gained momentum.
"Waahh!" Mingi exclaimed joyfully as he raised his arms in the air.
Gleeful laughter bubbled in your throat at his behavior and you started yelling with him.
"Woohoo!" You cheered as the ride began to move forward, causing your hair to fly up wildly.
After a minute or so the ride started to slow down until it came to a complete stop and everyone was allowed to step off the ride. You and Mingi got out trying to fix each other's messy hair.
"I was thinking we could go on the carousel next." Mingi said. "It'll be a good buffer ride after the pirate ship."
"Good idea. Let's go."
With a destination in mind, the both of you headed across the amusement park to the carousel and you were just in time too, as the ride was slowing down and there was only a handful of people waiting to get on next.
You stepped up onto the platform and started walking around, perusing the selection of animals. You settled on a couple horses that were situated next to each other; yours was white with a turquoise seat and Mingi's was black with a red seat. Your horse had stopped while it was up higher, so it was a little bit of a struggle to hop on. Thankfully, Mingi was there to help out, grabbing your waist as he heaved you onto the plastic horse.
Once you were both situated, the carnival music started to play through the speakers at the center and the ride began to move.
You admired the park and other nearby rides as the carousel spun. The soft wind from the steady speed of the ride blew through your hair, soothing you. It was much calmer compared to the thrilling pirate ship you'd just gotten off of.
You glanced over to look at Mingi only to see him with his phone out, pointing it directly at you.
"Hey!" You shouted, covering your face causing Mingi to burst out in a fit of giggles.
"Sorry, you just looked so cute in your own little world."
You pressed your lips together, holding back a small smile.
"Okay. I'll let you off this time."
The ride on the carousel was a short but enjoyable one that gave you a few moments to relax. Afterwards, you and Mingi rode a few more rides before deciding it was time to eat something.
"I'm starving." You commented, rubbing your stomach.
"Me too. What are you in the mood for?"
"I don't know. There's a lot of good food here and I'm so hungry I could eat anything."
"They've got cheeseburgers, corn dogs, nachos, pizza." Mingi went on, listing any theme park foods that came to mind.
"How about pizza? That sounds really good and you can't go wrong with a classic."
"Pizza it is. We should hurry and get in line though. We'll be waiting for a while."
And you were. The food lines at the amusement park were always super long and anyone standing was guaranteed to be waiting for at least half an hour.
"Finally." You sighed, sitting down at a table near the snack stand. "How long were we waiting for?"
"Like twenty-five minutes."
"It felt like longer." You huffed, taking a sip of your soft drink.
"I'm just happy to finally have food."
"Me too." You grinned, picking up the massive slice of pizza in front of you, savoring the first bite.
When the both of you had made it to the front of the line, you decided last minute to order another favorite theme park food of yours, which you were excited to dig into. Of course, Mingi asked to have a bite and you couldn't possibly say no, especially since he paid for the food.
After you ate a delicious meal, you and Mingi walked around the park for a few minutes to let your stomachs settle before deciding which rides you wanted to hit before the sun went down.
"How about the boat chute?" You suggested.
"Oh that's smart." Mingi nodded. "It's hot so the boat chute is a good call."
The wait to get on the boat chute was roughly fifteen minutes which wasn't too terrible compared to the wait for some of the other rides you'd been on earlier that day.
Once seated in one of the metal boats, you and Mingi started riding through the dark tunnel that seemed to stretch for miles. The further in you got, the darker it became.
"Baby?" Mingi asked softly.
"Mhm?" You hummed, turning towards him even though you couldn't see.
After only a second, you felt Mingi's lips on yours, soft and delicate. His hand slid behind your neck to keep your mouth pressed against his as his lips moved tantalizingly slow against your own. Your eyelids slid closed as you reciprocated the actions. One of your hands moved up to his brown hair, carding your fingers through it in a loving manner while the other cupped his cheek, making sure to keep his lips connected with your own. You scooted closer to him, your knees bumping against his as his free hand wrapped around your thigh, the feeling sending a flurry of butterflies to your stomach.
There was something exhilarating about making out in a dark tunnel with Mingi, perhaps because it was in public, but no one could see you. However, because the tunnel was narrow and stretched so far everything in there echoed, including the sounds of you and Mingi kissing, which you hadn't noticed until that moment. This caused you to separate from him, Mingi letting out a small whine when you pulled away.
"It echoes in here." You whispered.
He let out a small gasp in realization, then a shy giggle.
"Oh."
The feeling of his lips on yours returned, causing you to squeak.
"Mingi." You whisper shouted.
"Sorry. I couldn't help it."
You could see the end of the tunnel approaching, the light from the outside shining in, slowly getting brighter as the boat moved closer. When you made it out of the tunnel, the boat started going up the rollercoaster tracks, clicking all the way to the top. The boat turned a corner and you could see the approaching drop ahead.
"Here we go." You murmured to Mingi, clinging onto the handlebar in front of you as he followed.
Slowly, the boat approached the semi-steep drop and you went flying down the tracks, the front of the boat hitting the water, causing it to go splashing everywhere. Your right arm got splattered with water while Mingi appeared to have gotten water on his hair and part of his shoulder.
"Oh no." You laughed, ruffling his partially wet hair.
"It'll be fine." He shook out his dampened locks. "It feels good."

The day was coming to a close and the sun was just about to set. You had an eventful afternoon full of fun and delicious food. Though at this point, you and Mingi were getting tired and were ready to head home for the evening.
You sighed contently, walking hand in hand with Mingi as the two of you made your way back through the park towards the front entrance.
"I'm exhausted."
"Me too." He agreed.
"I think I'm ready to go home."
"Why don't we ride the Ferris wheel before we leave?" Mingi suggested. "That's an easygoing ride."
"That's a good idea. I think that'll be a good way to cap off the evening."
Your hands stayed connected as you moved through to the the large wheel right in the center of the park. There were only a handful of people in line, so you were able to get on the ride and get seated in a matter of minutes. Once situated, the attendant made sure the bar was secure before going to set the ride in motion.
Slowly, your cart started inching up higher and higher, the view getting better as you neared the top. You kept your gaze focused on the scene before you, watching as the people below got smaller. Mingi was leaned over, peering down at everyone as well.
When your pod finally reached the peak of the ride, you stared out at the amusement park in astonishment. The eye-catching cotton candy pink and vibrant orange sky hanging above the park nearly made your jaw drop in awe. The colorful hues blended together beautifully like a painting as the sun sank lower in the sky.
You turned to look at Mingi, the sunset giving him a golden glow that illuminated his facial features in the most gorgeous way. Your heart raced with adoration, feeling his fingers rest just underneath your chin, beckoning you towards him. You gazed at him for a few drawn out moments, instinctively leaning in to give him a kiss.
Mingi, who had been itching to have his lips on yours again, welcomed your gesture and reciprocated the kiss right away. You pulled away a few seconds later only for him to lean forward and attach his lips to yours eagerly, not ready for the kiss to end.
You had initially intended to give him a quick smooch, but you most certainly weren't complaining about him diving in to reattach his plush lips lips to your own.
You allowed yourself to indulge and enjoy the moment, cupping Mingi's cheek as you melted in response to the feeling of his mouth slotted with your own, full lips dragging across yours with each kiss and making you dizzy as he practically devoured you.
You both parted ways, gazing at each other with half-lidded eyes and lazy smiles for a few moments before you rested your head on Mingi's shoulder, staring out at the view once more before your pod started making its way back down.
As you made your descent you thought back on all the memories you made that day, thankful that, despite your boyfriend's busy schedule, he was more than willing to make time for you.
