Q: How do you feel about Alex?
Pidge: She's my best friend. I love her and I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world.

About Lotor and Keef (but not for them exactly):
Q: What is Lotor's past with Keef???
Erika: I'll explain while I'm not going into details down in "BONUSES AYYYYY" (great title, I know), but the simple answer is: they're childhood friends. They went to the same elementary and the same middle school for a year, until Lotor moved to another town and Keith was put in foster care.
Q: Lotor and I would really like to know what exactly happened so that Keith's mom ended up like that... does it have something to do with Lotor or Zarkon??
Erika: Keith's biological mom wasn't inherently homophobic. She was unsure of what she would do if she had a gay child, but she thought it would never happen. She knew gay people are people too, but she grew up in a strict religious family, as did her husband. As she spent more time with her husband, she grew more homophobic, and god, she just hoped her child wasn't gay. She thought her husband would blame it on her, and accuse her of sleeping with another man because he couldn't have a gay son. It was her worst nightmare.
Erika: Then buh-buda-buh-buh-buhhhh she found Keith kissing a boy! Her fight or flight instincts kick in and she chooses to sacrifice her child to save herself from having her husband find out she knew he was gay, and she kept it a secret from him.
Erika: She gets an F- for parenting -∞/10 would not recommend
Erika: While there is some history between Lotor's and Keith's parents, it doesn't have to do with Keith's mother's homophobia. And another fact, Lotor's mom isn't actually homophobic! She heard what happened with Keith's parents and instantly grew overprotective of him, trying to shield him away from exposure to Keith and word getting out about her son's sexuality because... Zarkon is a huge homophobe. He found out and decided to keep Lotor away from Keith because he thought Keith was the reason his son was queer. (In this Lotor is actually pan!)
For Erika, who is still referring to herself in the 3rd person:

Erika: While I often know what people are thinking, I am not 100% telepathic, sadly. I just go with what I want to see because no one else will write it for me.
Q: How did you get the idea for this story????
Erika: Honestly, I have no idea.

Alex: You also like gang aus, royal aus, and modern aus, but decided to actually publish the latter. Plus, y'know, that sharing a bed trope.
Erika: Hell yeah.

Erika: Anyway, I just knew I wanted to make a modern Klance AU with some of my favorite tropes and other ships. The fandom is getting really t o x i c so I wanted to try and combat that by making something fluffy that people would hopefully enjoy! :D
Pidge: Well, I enjoyed it.

Erika: Ah yes, adding in original characters without having them take away the focus from the canon characters, and thus stopping people from yelling at me while still adding in new characters is great.
Erika: Honestly, I'm the type of author that just goes with flow. I go where the story points, adding in bits I think are funny or sweet or would be guaranteed to make someone cry.
Erika: Another thing is that writing for a fandom allows me to grow a little closer with other members so thanks for all your comments and votes and for sticking with me! 💕

Erika: You can't really expect me to pick a favorite. I love them all in different ways because I am multi shipping trash. I will ship just about anything (as long as they are within an a-okay age range). While Keith and Lance are the main focus of the story, I also like Pidge and Alex because... ;) y'know, best friends to lovers is the shatt.

Erika: Anyway. Shiro and Matt are also the best friends to lovers type in this story and oh boy is their relationship full of sass and sarcasm. I love my children.
Erika: Hunk and Shay are the fluffiest couple I know. Literal sunshine. I didn't put any of their fluff, but I may have lost some teeth from the sweetness if I did.
Q: Will Pidge and Alex be canon??
Erika: Good question!

Erika: Alright so here's the dealio. There's a lot of ships in this book, right? Klance, Aczor, Keitor (lowkey), Hunay, Shatt, Pidge x Alex (someone come up with a ship name please - reminder her full name is Alexandrina (so long why did I do that))
Erika: Originally, I wanted to do a prequel with how Aczor got together, with a look into Keith's history with Lotor and the galra gang. I also wanted to do a sequel with Pidge and Alex, with a little bit more of where Klance went, and how Alex and Pidge got so close (besides the basics)
Erika: Reality is, I just don't have the time. I have tens of drafts of stories that'll never be finished. I have so many fandoms I want to contribute to, but I just can't do them all.

Erika to herself again: Swearing, Triggers, and Why I Wrote This Book
Erika: I know I was already asked why I wrote this book, but I also want to explain my whole deal with swearing.
Pidge: She's a teeny bab.
Erika: I'm taller than you... and Keith, I think.
Pidge: Irrelevant.
Erika: In my opinion, people curse too much, and they don't realize how much it hurts others. One of my friends does an awful amount of cursing, but he, like, Idk tones it down around me to the point where it's not even cursing? And it makes me feel happy that people are willing to try and change for me.
Pidge: She busted out a fat uwu.
Keith: Oowoo.
Erika: If that ain't the truth, son. I love you, precious uwu children.
Erika: Anyway, some people aren't immune to words and I want them to feel safe. This leads into triggers. I want to call attention to an important fact. Triggers aren't a joke. Those I see who comment things along the lines of "t r i g g e r e d" get blocked because mental health isn't a joke. I have friends who deal with triggers and seeing people reduce them to a meme is downright insulting.
Erika, gesturing to Keith: Which brings me to this boy.
Keith: Oowoo?
Erika: I'm afraid this is not the situation for uwu, my child.
Erika: Keith has triggers that aren't all specifically addressed, but they are definitely there.
[Alex leads Keith away]
Erika: The word gay can be a trigger to him in certain situations, which is why he said "it" in the Bonus Chapter where he shows Lance his scars. If he feels unstable, he can't bring himself to say his sexuality. His parents names can be triggers to him, as well as the insults.
Erika: When Trevor starts to say f@gg*t in the Bonus Chapter, Keith snaps. The word is triggering, but his first priority is Lance. He was in the middle of being pissed, and he punches Trevor before having a chance to process the word. He leads Lance away for both of their sakes, due to the amount of stress they were just put under.
Erika: Lance doesn't have triggers to quite the same degree, but people telling him off about his sexuality can be triggering.
Erika: Keith and Lance are both a little broken, but they are working through it together with support from their friends and family.
Erika: Which brings me to all you cool queer kids out there.
Erika: If any of you guys ever need support, I will be here for you. This world can be absolutely awful at times, but there will be a rainbow after the storm.
