I was wrong. Anything could be better than this. I'd rather work in the infirmary of the army, but not this. I stared at myself in the mirror and I couldn't help but find the outfit slightly appealing. I liked the American flag theme it had, but I wasn't such a huge fan of how it fit on me. It was a bit tight around chest area. As I admired my suit, I saw a girl walk into my room.

"You got two minutes," she told me. I nod my head. I grabbed my fake gun and mask, and walked out the room. I saw Steve talking to the manager, and he seemed compelled by everything. I walked over to them, and overheard their conversation.

"I don't think I can do this." Steve said.

"Nothing to it. Sell a few bonds, bonds buy bullets, bullets kill Nazi's, bing bang boom, you're an American hero," the manager told Steve. I scoffed slightly.

"Technically the soldiers kill the Nazis." I corrected him. He gave me a slight annoyed look.

"It's just...I don't think we're getting there." Steve further explained.

"The senator's got a lot of pull up on the hill. You play ball with us, you'll be leading your own platoon in no time," the manager said.

"I was perfectly fine before this," I mumbled under my breath. Steve looked at me and slightly smiled.

"That costume suits you," he said as he pointed to my outfit.

"Ha, ha, very funny. Such a gentleman," I said as I playfully pushed him. He chuckled lightly. He then put on his mask and I did the same.

"Go," the manager said as he pushed Steve and I onto the stage. Steve and I stumbled onto the stage and I brightly smiled, as I stood by Steve's side. The showgirls started to sing the song that was made. When they came to a pause, Steve began reading from the script tapped on the inside of his shield.

"Not all of us can storm a beach, or drive a tank," Steve read. I looked at his shield, and read my part.

"But there's still a way all of us can fight." I read. The showgirls continued singing their short line. "Series E. Defense bonds," I read out loud. I was so monotone and you could tell I wasn't enjoying this very much.

"Each one you buy is a bullet in your best guy's gun," Steve read. The girls continued singing again, and dancing. After a while, Steve and I read a few more lines, and we were finished with the show. We walked to the doors, and met up with a few fans of us. They called Steve 'Captain America', and called me 'American Dream'. They gave me that name because I could be an inspiration for more women to join the forces and because of that, I'm the American Dream.

I watched as Steve took a picture with a baby and her mother. I couldn't help but think about myself, and how I wanted to be able to have kids of my own. I've always wanted to know what it was like to have someone to care about, someone who looked up to me, the same as I looked up to my father. Sadly, being in the army doesn't help at all. Nearly all the men I've met were scared of me, all because I was a woman who could easily beat them in a fight or something. My thoughts were interrupted, when I heard someone call my name.

"American Dream! American Dream!" Someone called out. I turned, to see a few girls rushing up to me. "Can I get a picture?" A little girl asked. I smiled, and nodded my head.

"Of course you can, sweetie," I told her. She smiled, and we walked to a camera and made a nice pose. Once we were finished, I set the girls on there way, and when I turned to check on Steve, I saw him talking with a pretty blonde haired woman. I noticed how she rested her hand on his arm, the way a woman would to a man they found intriguing. Steve just smiled, and seemed to enjoy her presence. I couldn't help but feel a slight bit of jealousy, as I looked at the two of them. I didn't know why, but I didn't like seeing him with another woman.

A/N: Please don't leave comments talking about what name you think /my/ character should have as her superhero alias. It's my story, not to mention her name is inspired by the actual American Dream character in the comments.
