The grown man jumps before a feeling of fright travels through the man. You walk in and throw your phone at him. He catches it and looks at you, confused.
"Read the messages!"
Chadwick looks at the messages and he swallows hard. It's his girlfriend. Threatening you.
"Ash..."
"Don't "Ash" me!" You growl. "Talk to your girlfriend before I have to because if I talk to her: I'm going to hurt her feelings."
You snatch your phone back and walk away.

Chadwick comes back to the house he shares with you and makes his way to your room. He knocks.
"Ashlee?"
The door opens and you look at him.
"What?"
Chadwick produces the bouquet of white tulips and blue jacket hyacinth that are wrapped in a perfect white bow. He also has a box of your favourite treats from Godiva: Chocolate covered strawberries.
"Forgive me? I talked to my girl and I promise she won't do it again."
You accept the flowers and strawberries.
"Thank you Chadwick."
"Hug?"
You laugh and hug your housemate.

Chadwick introduces you to Michael and you two hit it off. Chadwick is kind of jealous.
Michael showers you with attention and gifts. Even though filming for Black Panther is over, Chadwick sees Michael almost everyday.
Chadwick walks in and sees you and Michael, on the couch and watching some show. Michael has his head on your chest and you're rubbing circles in his head as you two watch the show.
Chadwick doesn't know why, but he feels his heart sink.
"Hey Chad!" Michael calls, making you look up.
"Hey, Chadwick!"
Chadwick smiles and waves before going to his room. He closes the door and sits down. He hadn't told you but his girlfriend dumped him, thinking he was sleeping with you. It hurt but Chadwick would not lie: he was falling out of love with his now ex.
He feels something wet touch his hand and he realises he is crying. He wipes the tears away before going to shower.

It is a little pass midnight when you hear something that sounds like crying. It's soft and you tiptoe over to Chadwick's room and listens.
You hear a sniffle before a soft cry follows. You enter the room and walk over to Chadwick.
"Chad?"
He jumps and sits up, rubbing his face.
"Hey, Ash..."
"You okay?"
Chadwick nods, back to you. You aren't buying it.
"Look at me please."
Chadwick bites his lip before obeying, turning to look at you. His eyes are red from crying and you gently pull him into your warm embrace. He buries his face in your chest, hugging you as you hug him back, running your fingers in his hair, rocking him gently.
"Did she dump you?"
Chadwick nods.
"She wasn't shit anyway."
He laughs and you smile, kissing his forehead.
"You want to watch a movie?"
"Sure. Which one?"
You grin.
"Black Panther."
Chadwick gives a goofy grin as you put the DVD in and you two sit in bed, watching the movie and reciting lines.

Chadwick comes to realise something:
He's absolutely in love with you.
He loves everything about you: your beautiful, rich brown skin, your bright brown eyes, your thick yet toned shape, and your amazing personality. He loves the way you do his hair, giving him his signature fade and then twisting his hair.
You and Chadwick already had a good friendship but it became stronger. You two would spend Sundays doing hair, face masks, and cooking. Chadwick begins going to the gym with you and even shopping with you.
"Girl, you getting thick!" Your friend, Chelsea, said. "You have that healthy relationship glow! Who's the nigga?"
You laugh at your friend's bluntness.
"Just me and Chadwick being friends."
"The Black Panther is giving you deh strength of de blachk Pantha?!" Chelsea says, mimicking the accent as she asks causing you to giggle.
"No! He's just a friend!"
"Who's making you thick and glow. How I get a friend like this? Think he can set me up with Michael or Winston? I prefer Winston."
"Winston has a girlfriend."
"I can be a home wrecker. I don't care."
You roll your eyes and laugh as Chelsea shrugs.
"I mean...am I wrong?"
"Not at all."
You laugh as Chelsea shrugs.
"Come on, we are going to be late for brunch and I need me a mimosa after this long ass week."

Chadwick sees you and your friends and he blinks. You practically glow in the sunlight and he stares.
"Go talk to her man. You know you want to," Michael says.
"Aren't you...?"
"We make better friends. Go get her."
"Her friend...she single?" Winston asked.
"Aren't you taken?" Daniel asks.
"Not if her friend is single. I'm single."
They laugh as Chadwick gets up and walks over to you.
"Hey Ashlee."
You look up and smile, standing to hug Chadwick.
"Hey Chad!"
"Who...?"
"Chelsea, Chadwick Boseman, my roommate. Chadwick, my dear friend Chelsea Williams."
"Hello."
You two shake hands.
"You look good Ashlee."
Chelsea smiles before taking a sip of her mimosa and smirked. You hit her.
"Oh, um Chelsea?"
"Yes Mr. Boseman?"
"Chadwick is fine and Winston wants to talk to you."
Chelsea blinks.
"6'5", Chief M'Baku, thick piece of chocolate Winston Duke?"
Chadwick blinks and you laugh.
"Yes."
"Let me give you two some space as I go be a home wrecker."
Chelsea walks over to Winston and smiles, making the tall man grin.
"Those two..."
"They're perfect for each other," Chadwick says and you laugh.
"Really?"
"Yes."
You chuckle.
"Speaking of, we would be perfect together."
You blink as he smiles at you, a shy smile.
"Oh."
"Sorry if I—"
"No! I just...Chelsea said we would look good together and I thought she was kidding but wow."
Chadwick smiles before wrapping an arm around your waist.
"I think we go pretty well together."
You smile as you look at him. He gently kisses you and you kiss back. You two hear cheers and turn to see Michael, Winston, Chelsea, and Daniel cheering.
"Get it gurl!"
"Hush!" You say and Chelsea sticks her tongue out.
Chadwick grins as you two walk over to his friends and your friend to enjoy the rest of brunch.

It's date night and it's at you and Chadwick's place this time.
Chelsea and Winston began dating making Ashlee wonder how you two Trinis (although Winston is from Tobago) survive. It is clearly a lot of jokes and love because even you start becoming thick.
"Look at you!" You exclaim at seeing Chelsea.
Winston and Chadwick hug as Winston holds up the bag of food and liquor.
"Winston has you looking thick and glowing!"
"He claps these cheeks just right."
Chadwick chokes on the air and Winston gives a hearty laugh. Michael comes over with boyfriend, Dante. You and Ashlee introduced the two and they just clicked.
"So it's date night and game night!" Dante said.
"Yes!"
Chadwick smiles as he kisses your temple. You smile, rubbing his face before kissing him.
"Love you babe," he murmurs.
"I love you too."
"Come get your butt kicked king and Queen of Wakanda!" Winston says.
"I will beat you again!" Chadwick says and you laugh as the two men begin to trash talk each other.
Chelsea links arms with you and grins.
"Men: they never grow up do they?"
You laugh as you two join the others.
