M'Baku is extremely shy around Iniko aka you. You are one of the best seamstress in the country and being a Jabari woman, the Jabari tribe takes full advantage of your skills. You don't mind though and enjoy making furs, armours, and other clothing for your tribe.
"Iniko! The chief is here!" Eshe, your little sister, yells.
"Send him in!"
M'Baku enters the work room and sees you sitting at a low table, hair down and soft music playing. You mix modern and traditional, something that normally M'Baku is against.
"Come sit, Chief."
He sits next to you and watches as you stitch the fur to the arm guard in your hand. He takes in your appearance. You are in a black tube top, matching high waist pants, and a silver choker around your neck.
"What can I do for you?"
"I have that ball..."
"The annual ball. Yes, I heard. Do you need a fur?"
"A fur and a date."
You chuckle.
"You can ask Jamila, she has a huge crush on you."
"I don't think she would understand she is just a date."
You smile.
"True. Do you want the fur to match your suit? Or a lighter colour."
"Lighter. Iniko?"
"Yes Chief?"
"Will you be my date?"
You blink in shock before cursing as you cut your finger. M'Baku quickly grabs a piece of scrap cloth and wraps your finger.
"On the shelf! First aid!"
M'Baku obeys and returns. He watches as you take care of the injury before your finger is good as new.
"Now, say that again?"
M'Baku blushes.
"Will you be my date?"
You looked at him before looking at the arm guard on the table.
"Of course. What colour are you wearing?"
M'Baku smiles.
"Black suit. My fur can match your dress."
You smile as you two sit, talking.

M'Baku waits patiently for you in the hall. He hates this suit but wears it anyway. You have his fur, telling him you'll surprise him when you see him. He turns, sighing as one of his men grin before pointing.
He turns and gasps at seeing you. You're in a grey gown with a navy blue, grey, and black fur shawl around your arms. Your dreads are pulled back, revealing the shaved sides, and are in a ponytail. You have on gold jewellery: choker, teardrop earrings, upper arm band, and one on your wrist. You hold a fur in your hand.
"Iniko..."
You smile.
"Come. Let me pin the fur."
He obeys, standing still as you pin the fur to his suit. It matches your fur and he smiles at you. He pulls a box out his pocket.
"Oh, So men wont bother you."
You chuckle as he puts the black band on your finger. It's a matching band to his own Chief ring.
"Chieftess for the night?"
"Yes."
You smile. M'Baku offers his arm and you take it.
"Ready?"
"Yes."
"Announcing Chief M'Baku And Chieftess Iniko!"
You raise an eyebrow but smile as you two enter. The room is quiet and in awe as you and M'Baku walk forward. You two walk over to T'Challa who stares.
"Wow...M'Baku you didn't say you're married."
"He didn't now?" You said with a smile.
"No he did not!" Shuri said, joining.
"Iniko Jafari."
M'Baku blushes as you use his last name.
"Shuri, princess of wakanda. Your fur it's beautiful!"
"Thank you! I created it myself."
"Really?"
"Yes. All the Jabari men and women here in furs: they are created by me."
M'Baku grabs two drinks and hands you one. You smile, kissing his hand as he strokes your face.
"Well, I must mingle," T'Challa says and you chuckle at the face.
"Need help?"
"Yes."
You leave M'Baku and go with him, laughing. M'Baku is dragged into a conversation with a member of the border tribe.

"I am so glad this is finished."
M'Baku smiles as you drop into the seat by the window. You yawn and he walks over, kissing your forehead.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome."
"Shower or bath?"
"Bath."
M'Baku walks to the bathroom as you get up and wipe your face clean of the light makeup.
"Iniko!"
"Coming!"
You enter the bathroom and see M'Baku has removed his suit jacket and shirt. He smiles at you and you turn as he unzips your dress. You get into the bath and M'Baku removes your jewellery.
"I will shower."
You grunt and he chuckles as he goes to shower.

You moan as your eyes open. M'Baku is in sweats and topless as he looks at you.
"You fell asleep."
You grunt as M'Baku washes you off and oils your skin. He sees you have white ink tattoos on the side of your thigh and travels up to the middle of your side. You slip on the oversized hoodie and then the underwear.
"Come little Chief."
You hug his neck as he picks you up, taking you to the bed. You still wear the ring and M'Baku wasn't going to ask you for it.
Curling up in bed, you snore softly as M'Baku pulls the blanket up. He places one last kiss on your forehead before going to sleep himself.
You are in black high waist pants and a matching tube top. You have on your gold arm band and choker. M'Baku sees you talking to Shuri in the hallway and he drools at your butt. It's nice and round and big: how he likes it.
"M'Baku!"
He walks over and hugs you, one hand rubbing your butt as he rest his head on your head.
"When do we leave?" You ask.
"Tonight. Why?"
"Gotta get the Queen, Shuri's, and King's measurements for furs."
"Oh."
"Just finished Shuri. I'll you later?"
"Of course."
You point to your cheek and he kisses it. He smiles as you walk off.
"You really like her."
M'Baku looks at Shuri.
"Yes I do."
"You should tell her. She likes you too."
M'Baku thinks before walking away, planning.

You two return to the tribe and you make your way home. M'Baku Thanks his servant for the basket and he follows after you. He enters the house and walks to your work room.
You are putting your fur up.
"Hey."
"Hey! What's up?"
"Wanted to give this to you."
You smile at the basket and open it, clapping at the gifts inside. He smiles as you hug him, kissing his cheek.
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome. It's the least I can do."
You smile and put the basket down.
"You want dinner?"
"What you making?"
"Fried fish with rice and steamed vegetables."
He drools slightly as he follows you to the kitchen. You laugh as he sits, watching you with a smile.

M'Baku makes a confused face ( 🤨) before you enter. You are in traditional Jabari wear with a fur around you. He smiles.
"Iniko."
"M'Baku."
You walk forward and he holds your waist and you look up at him.
"Leave us please," you say with a soft smile.
"Of course. I will tell the others."
The servant leaves and M'Baku looks at you.
"You never took the ring back."
He blushes as you rub his arms. He looks at you and you smile.
"You know, if you really wanted me to be Mrs. Jafari you only had to ask."
"I thought you didn't like me," he confesses.
"I always liked you but you were always busy and Jamila was viewed as the one you would marry. After all, she is the daughter of one of your elders."
"I do not love her. At least not the way I love you."
You smile as he rubs his thumb on your cheek.
"Marry me?"
"Is this you officially asking?"
"Yes. Marry me and make me the happiest Chief in the world Iniko."
"Of course," you murmur as you pull him close and kiss him.

Several months later
"M'BAKU JAFARI!"
Everyone in the council jumps as the doors open and you walk in. M'Baku stands and T'Challa is about to speak by Ramonda shakes her head. The meeting is over and you are standing there.
"My love what—"
"You were rude to the River tribe elder?"
M'Baku really regrets the council ever meeting you.
"Love..." he whines.
"Apologise."
He pouts. You raise an eyebrow before an evil smirk spreads on your face. His eyes widen.
"Hey T'Challa."
"Yes?"
"M'Baku here has a pant—"
"My apologies elder. I will try to be more respectful."
He smiles and you smile.
"That wasn't so hard was it?"
"Evil woman."
You laugh as M'Baku snatches you up in a hug and kisses you.
"Baby be nice."
He grunts and you chuckle.
"How do you deal with the ape?" Okoye asks.
You whisper in her ear and she smirks. M'Baku snatches you away.
"No plotting women!"
You laugh as you wave to everyone and leave with him.

You smile as he lays his head on your chest and relaxes.

You two relax, falling asleep in each other's arms.
