The alarm clock rang. Yuna opened her eye and yawned extensively. Her arm felt numb, and when she tried to move it, it was stuck.
"Wata, move." She pressed against the body next to her, until she noticed the blond hair. "I remember." She listened to Yui's breath for a moment. Her sister was still asleep. Carefully she peeled free and crawled out of the futon. Should she wake Yui up?
Another alarm went off, and immediately the younger one awoke from her sleep. She noticed her sister beside her and turned around. "Morning, sister."
"Hey ... slept ... well?"
Yui looked down. "I'm sorry."
"It's all right. Don't worry." She smiled at the blonde. "What do you want to have for breakfast?"
"What do we have?"
"Cereals. And we have to look out for Wataru in the bathroom, since he always bathes in the morning."
"Oh." Slowly, the middle-school girl forced herself to a smile. "Okay."
Yui crawled out of her bed and together they rolled up their futons, which they stowed in the wall cabinet. The older girl grabbed her washing clothes and pointed to the pile next to it.
"Grab your stuff. I'll kick him out if he's bathing now," Yuna joked - probably.
"No, no. Then we can eat first and then use the bathroom."
"Nonsense. There are two of us. He should get out of our way." Yui chuckled, grabbed her stuff and together they stepped into the hallway, walking towards the stairs. "By the way, the toilet is over here." The blue-haired girl pointed to the door.
"I know. Ayumi showed it to me yesterday, when you ... with Wataru ... "
Yuna looked over and grinned embarrassed. "He, he."
"You're a sweet couple," the middle-school student confessed.
"Thank you."
They silently descended the stairs, where Tomi Nakamura was just putting on his shoes. The older one remembered that she had failed to tell her sister about him. By God, she would have little to do with him anyway. They occasionally met early in the morning, or late in the evening in the hall, exchanging formalities.
She only knew about him that he was working in the city, but his family lived outside in the country. Because the way to work was too long, he lived in the pension during the week. Maybe Ayumi or Wataru knew more about him, but she didn't care enough about the man to ask further questions.
"This is Nakamura-san," Yuna whispered to her sister.
"Good morning, Nakamura-san," the girls greeted him unison.
The man stood up and turned to them. "Good morning, girls. We have a new roommate?"
"Yes. Nakamura-san, this is my sister Yui. Yui-chan, this is Tomi Nakamura," the blue-haired introduced the two to each other.
The younger girl bowed deeply. "Very pleased, Nakamura-san."
The roommate also bowed. "Nice to meet you, Yui-chan. Have a nice day, girls."
"You too, Nakamura-san." The man left the pension through the front door.
"You didn't mention him," Yui said.
"Yes. We have very little to do with him. Come."
Yuna led her sister to the bathroom and knocked loudly. When no one answered, they entered the bathroom where nobody was. The girls put their washing utensils down, took their clothes off, and began to wash themselves.
Suddenly the door opened, and Yui screamed. "Oh damn shit!" Wataru shouted, and he immediately closed the door.
The older girl jumped up, stepped up to the door, and pushed it open again. "Can't you knock, you idiot?" She glanced angrily at him.
"Excuse me!" He stared at her first, then looked down.
Yuna noticed that he was staring at her breasts. Immediately her face turned red and she slammed the door shut. "BAKA!"
Embarrassed and awkward, Yui glared at her sister, who returned to her stool. "We need a bathing plan," the younger said.
The blue-haired snorted furiously. "I'll punch him afterwards."
"Don't get upset, sister."
"I've left our room door open, so this idiot can see we're awake." She scrubbed energetically on with her rag.
"Maybe he didn't notice it," Yui defended the young man.
Yuna narrowed her eye and moaned as she laid her hand on her belly. "Oh man ..."
"Are you all right?" The younger looked anxiously.
"I think, I'll get my period."
"Crap."
"Yeah. I hate that."
Yui smiled innocently. "In a few days, it's my turn." The blonde washed the soap off and then went into the hot tub after she had rolled back the cover.
The blue-haired washed herself, put on her panties, grabbed a bandage and put it in. "Fuck. What a crap."
"When does Ayumi have her days?" asked the girl in the tub.
Annoyed, Yuna squinted over to her. "I fucking couldn't care less, Yui."
"I was just thinking. Supposedly, women in residential communities should get their period synchronized."
The older one twisted her eye. "That's nonsense."
"Fine."
After the bath, the sisters returned to their room, slipped into their school uniforms and went to the kitchen. As they pushed open the door, the smell of fried fish struck them. Wataru stood next to the stove and had already put rice on the table.
"I'm very sorry. I hadn't thought of that," he said without looking at them.
Yui admired the breakfast. "Thank you, Wataru-san. That wouldn't have been necessary."
"Oh, hell yes." Yuna went over to him and grabbed him by the collar. She glanced at him furiously. "If I catch you again, I'll rip your balls off, got it?"
The blonde girl looked perplexed. She didn't know her sister like this. "Sister ..."
"It was an accident! I didn't know you were in the bathroom." Wataru tried to release Yuna's hands from his T-shirt collar, but the girl's grip was iron. "You're hurting me."
"Pussy." She released him and turned to Yui. "Sit down." A friendly smile accompanied the call. The middle-school girl felt a little queasy, so she obeyed and sat down quietly. Yuna scooped two servings of rice and placed one before Yui. Then she sat next to her sister. "Hurry up, you fool." The young man snorted, but didn't dare to say anything. He handed them a plate of fish, then left the kitchen.
"Thank you, Wataru-san," Yui yelled after him. The blue-haired chuckled. "You were really mean to him."
"He deserved it. Look, now we have a great breakfast and don't even have to prepare it ourselves. One more time, or two, and we have our own cook." She pulled the plate with the fish closer to her rice bowl.
Yui didn't think that the behavior of her sister was properly. "You're so mean. Poor Wataru."
"What? The idiot always gets on my nerves." Yuna clapped a large portion of fish on her rice and began to plaster her food. Hesitantly, the younger one looked at her food and then gave her sister a side view. The older one stopped eating. "What?"
"I don't think you should treat your boyfriend like that."
"What do you know about that?" The chopsticks and the bowl rattled on. Yui shrugged and slowly ate her breakfast with a dull feeling in her stomach.
Subsequently to their meal, the girls filled the remnants in their bento boxes for lunch at school. They could chat together as usual, as if Yuna's outbreak hadn't happened before. Yui wondered about this, but at the moment she didn't dare to confront her sister.
With their packed boxes they left the kitchen and met Wataru, who was about to lift his bike from the stand. He looked at the girls silently.
"Thank you for the meal, Wataru-san," Yui said again, bowing.
"No problem, Yui-chan." He looked at his girlfriend, who returned the look. Finally he turned his head away, sighing, and reached for the handlebar of his bicycle.
"Hey, dumbass." Wataru looked at her again. Smiling, she came to him and kissed him on the mouth. "Have a nice day."
His face brightened instantly. "You too, girls."
"Now take off, Baka."
"Yes."
The young musician smirked as the girls passed him, took his bike to the door, and then set off for work.
The schoolgirls left their bento boxes on the doorstep and then climbed the stairs to their room.
"I don't get you, sister," Yui admitted.
The older girl squinted at her. "Why?"
"The way you treat Wataru. Once you are sweet to him and then again the total monster. Don't you love him?"
"Of course I love him." Yuna had to shake her head.
"It just seems wrong to me."
"Yui, if you have a boyfriend, you can treat him the way you want, okay?" The blue-haired shrugged. "The idiot needs that."
They entered their room. "Exactly, that's what I mean. Why do you call him idiot?"
"Because he is one."
The blonde shook her head. Obviously, it was no use to conduct this conversation with her sister. Maybe Yui really didn't know all the facts. Still, she wondered that the young man decided to bear this treatment.
They brushed their teeth, grabbed their school bags, went to the entering room, and slipped into their shoes. Then they left the pension and went to school. They walked together to a crossroad where their paths separated.
"Good start, Yui," the high-school girl wished her sister.
"You too. Until this evening."
"Call me if there is anything."
The younger one grinned. "Don't worry, sister."
Yuna smiled miserably. "I can't help myself. You are the most important thing in my life."
"I love you too. See you later."
The blonde continued her way. The blue-haired looked after her and wondered if she should follow her to school. She had to think of Yoshiro, who had also shaded her at the time.
The longer, the more, she could understand his motives. This had nothing to do with over-protection. This was the attention given to a person who was loved above all in the world and one wanted to protect from disaster.
The thought ached and her heart became heavy for her. In addition, the convulsions came in her abdomen, so she used her power, that the first day of school wouldn't start totally shitty.
So much goodness she had to find for herself.
