Josh woke up to see Zoey still passed out cuddling his arm. He smiled and kissed her head. Josh watched her as he played with her hair. I can't believe it. He thought. She's all mine. Josh's smile grew bigger. He wanted to savor this. Zoey was so peaceful and cute. Josh reached over to grab her phone. He swiped to the left and brought up her camera. He took a picture and figured he'd send it to himself later. He had the idea to try and unlock her phone to send it now but he didn't wanna invade her privacy. Not being able to fall back asleep, Josh kept playing with her hair.
Zoey shifted and opened her eyes to see a puppy dog eyed man staring at her. He grinned big at her as he rubbed her shoulder. "Good morning beautiful." Josh said. "Morning." She smiled. "How did you sleep?" He asked. "Pretty good actually. What about you? How long have you been up?" She rubbed her eyes and yawned. "Bout an hour." He sat up. "An hour??? Why didn't you wake me?" Zoey sat up. "I didn't wanna wake you. You needed sleep and you were cute." He kissed her cheek. Zoey blushed. "Thank you but next time dont be afraid to wake me you dork." She kissed his shoulder. "Hey can you unlock your phone? I need to text my phone something important." Josh drummed on his knee. "Yeah sure." She unlocked her phone and handed it to Josh. "Everything ok?" She asked. "Oh yeah." He smiled. Zoey watched him open their text messages. "Oh my gosh." Josh opened his mouth. Zoey blushed and hid her face behind him. "Spooky with a green heart? How longs that been there?" He smirked. "Shut up and make your text." She poked his back. "Ok ok." He laughed. Zoey sat up and laid her head on his shoulder watching him. He opened her gallery and sent the picture. "Was that a picture of me? Sleeping?!" Zoey looked at him. "Yeah. You were so cute so I had too." He stuck his tongue out. "Oh my god Josh! I'm so hideous!" She pouted. "Hey! No you're not. You're beautiful." He kissed her.
"You hungry?" Zoey was laying on Josh's chest. "A little." Josh rubbed her back. "Meet me downstairs." She smiled. "Alright." He kissed her head. Zoey headed to the bathroom and Josh headed downstairs.
As Josh got to the bottom he noticed Lily on the couch. "Hey Lily!" He waved. Lily yelped and threw an umbrella at Josh. "What the hell?!" Josh tried blocking it. "Josh?!" She grabbed her chest. "Jesus fucking- you scared the shit out of me you asshole!" She sighed. "I coulda killed you!" She yelled. "With an umbrella?" He held his laughter. "Shut up. Yes and umbrella. Shove it up your ass or something." She cut him a look. "I'm so scared." He laughed. "I'm sorry Lily." He walked to the couch and opened his arms. "Fuck you." She pouted. "Come on." He pouted. "Fine." She sighed. She hugged Josh. "Tyler says hi by the way." Josh sat next to her. "Really?!" She got excited. "I mean." She coughed. "Really?" Lily said calmly. Josh snickered. "Yeah. Maybe you'll get to meet him and say hi in person." He smiled. "That'd be awesome." She tried remaining calm.
Zoey came down the stairs and saw them talking. She hid up the steps a bit and listened.
"So did you hear?" Josh asked. "Hear what?" Lily wondered. "I got a girlfriend." He smiled. Lily's eye twitched. "Really? Who?" She said in a high voice. "This amazing chick. I think you know her." He teased. "Oh really? Who?" She said holding back anger. "Zoey." He smiled. "Oh my god!" Lily sighed putting down a pen on the table. "Where'd you get that?" Josh asked. "Dont worry about it. I thought you meant some other chick. I was gonna have to kill you both." She laughed. "What?" He looked at her. "Because you woulda led Zoey on, but were good. I'm so happy." She clapped. "Thanks." He smiled ignoring the fact she was about to kill him. "Its about time. She's always talking about you. Josh this, Josh that. Does he like me, blah blah." She laughed. "She talks about how your smile is like a-" Zoey ran down the stairs. "Hey guys!" She laughed awkwardly and headed over to them. "Oh hey Zoey." She waved. "Hey babe." Josh smiled. Lily winked at her. Zoey just cut her a look. "What?" She asked. "I don't know what you're talking about." Zoey laughed. "Mhm. So I heard the good news." Lily smiled. "Imma go tell Jade I won." She got up. "Wait what?" Zoey stopped her. "Oh, we made a bet." She laughed. Josh and Zoey exchanged looks then looked at Lily. "What bet?" Josh asked. "Well Jade said that Zoey was gonna ask you out but I said that I knew Zoey enough that she'd just chicken out. So I bet that Josh would ask and well I won. She's owes me $20 and a kiss." Lily smirked. "Really?" Zoey looked at her. "Hey I'm sorry. But you know it's true." Lily hugged Zoey. "No it's..well..shut up." Zoey hugged her back.
Lily went upstairs to call Jade. "Whatcha hungry for?" Zoey leaned down on the couch. "Um I don't know." Josh laid back so Zoey was above him. "Eggs? Pancakes?" She asked. "Pancakes would be nice." He smiled. "Sure." She smiled. "Thanks cutie." He puckered his lips. "Always handsome." She leaned down and kissed him.
Zoey walked into the kitchen, which was connected to the living room, and started making the pancake batter. Josh got up and walked over next to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and laid his chin on her shoulder. "Need any help?" He asked. "Can you grab me the milk please?" She smiled mixing things. Josh walked over to the fridge and grabbed the milk. "Here ya go." He set it on the counter.
There was a knock at the door. Zoey sighed and set the milk down. "I got it." Josh kissed her head. Before he could grab the door knob Lily was running down the stairs. "I GOT IT! I GOT IT!" She ran over to the door as Josh backed up. Lily opened it to see a tan brown haired boy standing at the door. "Hi is Josh here?" He asked. "Y-yes. He is. Hi Tyler." Lily smiled big. "How did you know who I was?" He asked. "I'm a big fan." She smiled. "Oh thanks. That's really cool. Are you Lily?" Tyler pointed. "Yes I am." Her eyes widened. "Sick. What's up? Zoey talks about you a lot. Nice to finally meet you Lily." He smiled and held out his hand. "It's great to meet you too." Lily shook his hand trying not to pass out. "Hope she says good things." She laughed. "Course she does. Could you give this to Josh? It's his phone he left in such a hurry he forgot it." He handed her the phone. "Yeah of course. I just found out he was here not to long ago." She grabbed the phone. "What happened? Is everything ok?" Tyler looked worried. "Oh yeah. Everything's fine." She smiled. "Well give that to him please." Tyler smiled. "Will do." Lily smiled back. "Sweet." Tyler held out his hand. She grabbed it and they hugged. Jade walked up and saw Tyler. "O-m-g." She mouthed. "I know right!" Lily mouthed back. Tyler broke the hug and smiled. "See ya later." He waved. Tyler turned around and saw Jade. "Oh I'm sorry." He moved to the side and walked past her. Jade calmly sped walk over to Lily. "That was Tyler Joseph!" She whispered. "I know!" Lily hugged her. "Hey imma go hang with Jade!" Lily yelled. "Ok! Have fun! Hey Jade!" Zoey yelled. "Hello sweetie!" Jade yelled back. "Oh!" Lily went back inside and handed Josh his phone before leaving with Jade.
"Sweet." Josh unlocked his phone. He saved the picture of Zoey and then walked back over to her. Zoey was stirring the batter while the pan was heating. Josh came up from behind, he kissed her cheek and then took a picture. "What are you doing?" Zoey turned around. "Hang on." Josh was typing.
Zoey's phone vibrated. "Spooky Jim just tweeted. Gee I wonder what he said." She grabbed her phone. "You have my notifications on?" He smirked. "Duh. Your tweets get lost in my feed." She opened twitter. "Josh!" She gasped. He stood there and smiled. It was the picture of him kissing her cheek. The tweet read, "Breakfast with my girl ❤". Zoey looked at him."I wanna be mad because I look a mess but its so cute and you're so cute and you called me your girl." She covered her face. "Awee." Josh wrapped his arms around her and smiled. "You are my girl." He kissed her forehead. Zoey blushed and buried her face in Josh's chest. "You're my alien." She said muffled. "What?" He laughed and lifted her head from his chest. "You're my alien." She stuck her tongue out. "Always." He smiled.
They hugged and stayed like that for what seemed like forever. "Oh shit! The pancakes!" Zoey rushed to the bowl. She gave it one more good stir and started putting them on the pan. Josh sat on the counter while he watched. "They smell great Zoe." Josh drummed on his thighs. "So do you." She smiled and then regretted saying that. Really Zoey? She thought mentally face palming. "I do, do I? Thanks." He smirked. "How many do you want?" She glanced at him. Zoey did a double take. Josh looked good today, real good.
His chocolate puppy eyes and his dimples, how his messy hair was all curled up, and his arms, and he looked so good. Zoey was so busy staring Josh up and down she missed his answer and forgot about the pancakes.
"Zoey!!" Josh yelled and pointed. One of the pancakes started burning and smoking. "Oh fuck!" Zoey snapped out of it. She scooped it out and threw it away and then put the pan in the sink and turned on the water. She sighed and put her head on the counter. Josh rubbed her back and turned off the stove.
She turned off the water and went to move the pan over. Zoey touched it without the potholder and burned her hand slightly. "Ah! Shit." She grabbed her hand. "Zoey, are you ok?!" Josh held her hand. "Yeah I'll be fine." She gripped her wrist. "Put it under the water and hang on." Josh ran upstairs.
Zoey ran cold water on her hand waiting for Josh. She was surprised to see him come back with her first aid kit. "How'd you know where that was?" She asked. "I noticed it one time when you were going through your bedside drawer." Josh opened it and pulled out a bandaid. "Why was it in there instead the bathroom?" He asked pulling out some cream and gently grabbed her hand. "I, um, I had it nearby for when I.." She looked down. "I understand." He put some cream on the red mark. "Its small, so you should be ok." Josh unwrapped the bandaid and gently put it on. "Thanks Joshy." She smiled. "Always Zoey." He kissed her hand and smiled at her. "Sorry I ruined the pancakes. There's more batter so I can make mor-" Josh kissed her before she could finished.
He put his hands on her waist and pulled her close. "Dont be sorry." He put his forehead on her. "Are you-" "Yes baby." He smiled. Zoey kissed him and wrapped her arms around his neck. Josh held her tight. "Say it again." She said. "Hm?" "Call me baby. Its cute." She smiled. "I'm glad baby." He smiled and kissed her again.
Zoey finally broke the kiss when Josh's stomach growled. "I guess I should get on those pancakes." She snickered. "I was having fun but I am hungry." Josh kissed her. "Well then. Pancakes here we come." Zoey winked.
Zoey finished up and set some pancakes on a plate for Josh. She set it on the counter in front of him.
"Thanks." Josh smiled with mouthful of pancake. "You're welcome cutie." Zoey giggled. Zoey watched Josh as he continued eating. "Aren't you gonna eat something?" Josh took a sip of water. "I'm not hungry." She told him. "Zoey." Josh looked at her. "I'm not really." She smiled and insisted. "Alright." Josh continued eating. Zoey stomach grumbled. Her eyes widened. Josh looked at her and set his fork down. "Zoey." "I'm fine." She laughed awkwardly. Josh pushed his plate towards her. "No Josh that's your-" "Help me finish it. Please." He looked at her. She couldn't say no to those eyes. Zoey grabbed a fork and took a bite. "Thank you." He rubbed her hand.
Josh and Zoey sat on the couch after they finished. "Do you wanna do something?" Josh rubbed Zoey's shoulder. "Like what?" She looked at him. "Wanna go get coffee? I gotta stop by my place anyway." "Sure." She smiled. "Let me get dressed." Zoey headed upstairs while Josh waited for her. He figured he'll get dressed at his house and then they can go.
Zoey came down in a tank top and some skinnies with her hair in a bun. "Lookin good." Josh held out his hand. "Thanks." She winked and grabbed it. They held hands and walked out the door.
When they got to Josh's place they headed inside to see Tyler dancing around with Jenna. "Did we intrude?" Josh laughed. "No no." Tyler hugged Jenna as they laughed. "Zoey!" Jenna ran over and hugged her. "You look great today!" Jenna smiled. "So do you!" Zoey returned the smile. "Hey imma get ready." Josh headed upstairs.
"So did you say anything?" Jenna asked. "Yeah." Zoey smiled. "Well what happened?" Jenna got excited. "Hey babe? Do you wanna hit the mall too?" Josh called down. "Sure!" Zoey yelled. "Babe?!" Jenna's jaw dropped. "Mhm." She blushed. "Oh my gosh!!" Jenna hugged her tight. Tyler ran upstairs.
To Josh:
Josh was putting on his shirt when Tyler ran in. "Dude!" He looked at Josh. "What?!" Josh laughed. "You asked her out!" "Oh yeah. Sorry I got caught up in all it." Josh apologized. "I'm happy for you Josh." Tyler hugged him. "Thanks." Josh smiled. "Took you long enough." Tyler laughed. "Will she be accompanying us on tour?" He asked. "Not sure." Josh looked down. "The tour starts soon so you better find out. I'd be ok with it. She's a nice girl and I think it'd be good for you." He smiled. "Yeah." Josh smiled.
Josh and Tyler came down the stairs. The girls smiled as the boys walked over to them.
"Well you know what this means?" Jenna hugged Tyler and looked at Josh and Zoey. "What?" Josh put his arm around Zoey. "Double date!" She sang. Zoey smiled at the thought. "Totally." She grabbed Josh's hand. Josh looked down at her and kissed her head. "Well we gotta head out. I'll be back soon." He waved. "Alright. We'll be here." Tyler winked. Have fun Tyler mouthed. Josh nodded as they walked out hand and hand.
They arrived at the mall and Josh held Zoey's hand as the entered.
"Wanna wander around or get coffee first?" He asked. Zoey noticed how tight he held her hand. It wasn't painful tight but he had a good grip. It was like he was afraid of letting her go. Like he was gonna lose her. "We could get coffee first. I kinda feel like a zombie." She joked. "Coffee it is then." He smiled.
Josh and Zoey walked into the Starbucks in the mall. They got in line and Josh wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. He kissed her cheek. "What d'ya want?" He asked. "Um I'm not sure. This is my first time." She laughed awkwardly. Josh was kinda shocked. "Really?" He asked. "Yeah." She laughed. "Well what do you like in general?" He played with her hair. "Chocolate I guess." She turned around and faced him. "You could get a mocha frappé." He rubbed her arms. "Sounds good." She smiled.
They ordered their drinks and waited. "I'll pay you back I promise." Zoey frowned. She felt bad when people spent money on her. "What? No. Its my treat." He held her hand. "But" "Nope. It's fine." He kissed her forehead. Zoey hugged Josh tightly. He didn't want her to let go.
A lady called for "Spooky" and "Zoe" with their drinks. Josh grabbed them and they sat down by a wall.
"Enjoy." Josh smiled handing Zoey her drink. "Thank you." She winked. Josh watched her take a sip. "So? How's your first Starbucks?" He asked drinking his coffee. "Wow. Pretty good." She laughed.
Josh reached across the table and held her hand. "So I wanted to ask you something." Josh looked at her. Oh god he's gonna break up with me. I fucked something up. Zoey held her breath and nodded. Josh rubbed her hand with his thumb. "So as you know our tour is coming up.." He looked at her hand. It was really soft and a little cold. "What about it?" She felt relieved. Josh's hand was warm and it felt nice. "D'ya think you'd want to maybe, come, with me?" He looked at her. Zoey seemed shocked.
"Come with you??" Zoey asked to make sure she heard him right. "Yeah..unless its an issue." Josh looked down. "I'd love too." She smiled. That was music to his ears. "That's great." He held her hand tight but gently. "The first day is the end of May. We'll leave a couple days ahead." He smiled. "Where's the first show?" She asked taking another sip. "Ohio. We'll relax in our hometown for a couple days and then head out to Cincinnati." He put his phone on the table. "Ohio??" Her eyes widened. I'll have to meet his mom. Her anxiety started to rise.
"You ok?" Josh asked. "Yeah. Just never really been out of state." She laughed it off. "You'll get used to it. Don't worry, I'll be with you." He smiled assuring her everything would be ok. "Alright." She smiled at him.
Josh got up to grab some napkins and food. Zoey stayed behind to watch their drinks.
She opened instagram to see herself all over her feed. Being a fan Zoey followed a bunch of tøp accounts. And there she was. Everyone was talking about her. They were reposting Josh's picture. A couple others reposted a picture of them from the bowling place hugging.
She kept scrolling to see it everywhere. Her whole feed. Her anxiety went up and she closed it out of fear. She looked at her phone. Zoey brought up Instagram again to read the captions and comments on the pictures. She took a breath and began reading them.
"She's soooo pretty!"
"She's so lucky!"
"Who is she? She's so cute!"
"They're so adorable!"
"New mom and dad!!"
"Josh's new gf? She's beautiful."
"What's her socials?"
Zoey smiled. There was a couple rude comments calling her a gold digger but she ignored it all. She was overwhelmed with the compliments.
Josh came back over with some doughnuts. As he sat down he noticed her smiling at her screen. "What's making you smile so much?" He laughed. "Nothing!" She closed it out and darkened the screen. "Doughnuts?" She giggled. "Yep." He smiled. "Awesome." She grabbed one and got an idea.
When Josh wasn't looking Zoey opened the camera app and look a photo of Josh looking down on his phone. He grabbed his doughnut. "Hey smile dork." She smirked. Mid-bite Josh smiled while biting the doughnut. She took the picture and laughed. He was so cute and dorky.
Zoey took to her twitter. She posted both the pictures and then began eating her doughnut. Josh's phone vibrated.
He looked down. "Zoey Dawson posted two photos. Zoey Dawson mentioned you in a tweet." He smirked. "Really?" She laughed. "Hey you have my notifications on." He joked. Josh wiped his hands and opened the tweet. He smiled at the pictures. "You snuck a pic of me? This means war." He smirked. "Shhhh." She took a sip of her drink. Josh went back to reading the tweet.
"Isn't he just adorable? What a dork. But hes my dork. 👽💚#lucky #blessed
@ joshuadun." It read.
Josh grinned big and retweeted it. Zoey's phone went off and she laughed.
"You're so cute." He smiled staring at her eyes. "You're such a dor-" "but I'm your dork." He winked. "That you are." She smiled at him.
Suddenly Zoey's twitter was going off like crazy. She looked at her phone. Likes, retweets, replies, 45 new follows, 102 new follows, it went on. "Sorry." Josh laughed. "Why are you sorry?" She asked. "Cause that." "Eh its no biggie." She smiled. Zoey muted twitter for now until she was able to get home and change her settings.
Josh started tapping on the table. "Wanna wander around?" He asked. "Sure." She smiled. They got up and Zoey grabbed her drink. They held hands on the way out and headed down the escalator to check out GameStop.
When they got to the bottom Zoey's phone starting ringing.
"Can you hold my drink please?" She asked. "Yeah." Josh held her drink. "Hello?" She answered her phone. "IM GETTING MARRIED!!" Zoey nearly drooped her phone. "Whoa dont yell! What?" She looked at the caller ID, it was Lily. "I'm getting married!!!!" She squealed. "Oh my gosh!" Zoey gasped and smiled. "She proposed!" Lily sounded extremely ecstatic. "Congrats!!" Zoey smiled. "Got to go! I'm helping Jade move something! Ahhh!" Lily hung up.
"What was that about?" Josh asked handing her back her drink. "Lily's getting married." Zoey smiled.
