THE UNKNOWN STALKER PART 39...
The_seven_signs

Three days before the wedding-

I found myself lost in a whirlwind of emotions. It seemed unreal that just two months ago, I was a recent graduate eagerly preparing to join my father's business. And now, here I was, selecting a wedding dress. Life can be so capricious and unjust.

Lost in my thoughts, I mumbled to myself, only to be interrupted by my mother's voice. "Y/n, my dear, what are you muttering about?" She held a long, white dress in her hands, waiting for my approval.

"Oh, nothing, Mom," I replied, attempting to mask my inner turmoil. "Let me have a look at that dress." I pointed towards a beautifully crafted gown on a mannequin, and a helpful assistant promptly brought it over for me to try on.

After ten minutes, I gazed at my reflection in the mirror. "Oh my, Y/n, this dress looks absolutely stunning on you! It's like a fairytale come true. I think it was designed specifically for you. What do you think?"

I mustered a smile and replied, "Yes, Mom, after tirelessly searching for the so-called perfect wedding dress for nine hours, I believe this is the best one. It fits my body type beautifully, and the long veil complements it perfectly. Yes, I like this one. Let's get it."

"Very well, dear. Is there anything else you fancy here?" my mother inquired.

"To be honest, Mom, no. The jewelry I'm currently wearing was suggested by the designer and it pairs splendidly with this gown. I'm done here. Can we please head back home now? I'm exhausted and in dire need of a nap."

Chuckling, my mother agreed, "Of course, dear. Let's pack this order and have it delivered to the registered address tomorrow morning."

Back at the Lee mansion, my father excitedly called me over to admire the magnificent decorations in the wedding hall. As I prepared to ascend the stairs, I took a deep breath and stepped back, walking towards my father at the bar with a tired yet content smile on my face.

"Dad," I replied, taking a seat as he gestured for me to join him.

He showed me the iPad screen, and there, Uncle Junghun appeared on a video call, beaming with pride as he showcased the magnificently decorated wedding hall. Every detail was meticulously crafted, resembling a scene from a royal era. The best part was that everything was in mine and Taehyung's favorite colors, white and purple.

Nodding in approval, I glanced back at my dad, who seemed satisfied with my reaction. He advised me to go and get some rest, finally acknowledging the exhaustion that clung to my bones after a long and hectic day of selecting wedding essentials.

Just as I was about to drift off into a well-deserved sleep, my phone rudely interrupted, forcing me to groan in frustration. Seeing the caller ID, I had no choice but to answer.

"Hello, Taehyung?"

"Hello, Y/n. How are you?"

"How am I? Do you really think I'm doing well? I'm hungry, dehydrated, and above all, exhausted... but yeah, I'm 'good,'" I replied, my tone laced with a hint of sarcasm.

"Oh, oops. My bad for asking such a silly question. Anyways, I called to let you know that I'll be coming to pick you up tomorrow. My dad wants to talk to you about something important at sharp 10 o'clock. Please be ready."

"Alright, was that all?"

"Yeah, basically."

"Okay, then. I'll be ready by then. Now, I'm off to sleep. Bye-"

I abruptly ended the call, slumping back onto my pillow. Just as I was about to drift into a deep slumber,

the next day arrived.

At 10 a.m-

"Mom, I'm leaving now. Bye," I called out, leaving the mansion and stepping outside the gate. To my surprise, a white Porsche awaited me, accompanied by its owner, wearing a broad boxy smile. As usual, he opened the car door for me, and I climbed inside while he closed it swiftly.

He walked around to his side and got in, glancing at me with a mischievous smile. In a close proximity, he buckled my seatbelt, causing me to hold my breath and widen my eyes. Chuckling, he looked directly into my eyes and whispered, "Let go of that, Y/n, or else you'll choke."

Confused, I furrowed my brow and whispered back, "Hmm?"

With only a breath's distance between our lips, he closed the gap and softly murmured, "Your breath," before returning to his seat, a smirk adorning his face. I let out a sigh of relief, while he glanced at me from the side and chuckled, driving us away.

At the Kim Stonesend mansion-

I was warmly welcomed by Mr. Kim. "Come, come, my dear daughter-in-law. It's so lovely to see you. Please have a seat." Taehyung and I sat together on the grand, royal blue couch, and although I maintained a stiff smile, Taehyung noticed.

"Alright, so I called you here today to inform you about some rules and regulations of the Kim family. You may wonder why it's just two days before the marriage, but you see, I'll be heading off to China the day after your wedding and won't have time to explain everything. So, I thought of giving you a brief overview today. This mansion, as you know, belongs to Taehyung, and I don't usually come here. But today, I'm here to give you the gist."

One hour later...

"So, that's all you need to know. I hope you understand and will comply with them. I may take my leave now. Okay, Taehyung, have a good day. Both of you, bye," Mr. Kim concluded, bidding us farewell. As he left, I slouched on the couch, and Taehyung smiled at me.

"Too many rules, huh? I know, right? But you'll get used to them. Come on, I'll make you some brunch. I know my butterface must be starving," he said, teasingly. I grinned at him and followed him into the kitchen.

On the D-day...

"Wow, Y/n, you look incredibly beautiful. I mean... I have no words to describe your beauty!" Jisyoung exclaimed, her hands clasped together, her eyes shimmering with awe.

"Move aside, you dumbass. You don't even know how to appreciate her. She possesses an otherworldly beauty. Just look at her! She's the epitome of what Aphrodite would call mesmerizingly gorgeous. The elegance she exudes is brightening up this room, surpassing even the candles and lights. At this moment, she looks more delicate than a rose petal," Soojin chimed in, her eyes welling up with tears.

"Girls, please, that's a bit too much," I say, giggling, as I take one last look at myself in the mirror. I feel satisfied with how I look—the silhouette of the dress hugging my upper body and flowing down in a big, puffy manner at the bottom. The long sleeves with elegant embroidery add allure to the ensemble.

The long veil completes the perfect picture, along with a simple diamond necklace and earrings. With minimalist makeup, my natural beauty is enhanced, with just a touch of smoky eye makeup to bring out my eyes.

I pick up the bouquet of ranunculus flowers, turning around to see my friends and mom. Tears glisten in my mom's eyes as she takes two big steps towards me, enveloping me in a tight hug.

"Oh, sweetie, my Y/n. How and when did you grow up so fast, my precious doll? May all evil eyes stay away from you today and for the rest of your life," she says, still holding me in her arms. Then, she lets go and cups my face in her palms, kissing my forehead, her eyes filled with love.

"I wish you lifelong happiness, my daughter. And if you can, please forgive me, your dad, and your uncle for making such a big decision about your life years ago without even informing you. We were just confined, Y/n. Forgive us for taking away your freedom right after your graduation. But we can assure you that Taehyung is the best guy you could ever find for yourself. Once again, I'm sorry for everything," she says, her voice breaking. I hold her tightly, tears welling up in my own eyes.

"No, Mom, please don't be like this in front of me. I forgive you, Dad, and Uncle. It's okay. Whatever you all did, I'm sure you must have thought it was for my best interests. And if you see Taehyung as the best among the rest, let me tell you that I trust all of you. If I had tried to find someone on my own, you know I wouldn't have been able to, considering everything from my past. So, everything that happened was for the best, and I've accepted it as it is. Let's get going. I don't want to be labeled as the 'late bride' to her own wedding hall," I finish with a smile. My mom nods, releasing my hands, and gestures for me to take my leave.

I look at her, then at Soojin and Jisyoung, smiling as I hug them both one last time as the sweet and simple Lee Y/n before becoming Kim Y/n. Stepping out of the dressing room, I'm ready to embark on this new chapter of my life.

Standing in front of the grand brown door, just a few steps away from the destiny that awaits me in my onward life, I take a deep breath and look at my dad on the left. He looks at me with a joyous smile, offering me his arm. I slip my hand around his, gripping it firmly. The magnificent door ahead of me slowly opens, revealing everyone inside, their adoring gazes fixed upon me. The cameras click incessantly, capturing the moment. With a smile on my face, I begin to take my steps forward, looking to my left and right, slightly bowing to express my gratitude to everyone present.

My gaze locks with Taehyung on the stage. He looks at me, his signature boxy smile spreading across his face. But then, he turns away, closing his eyes and bringing a hand to his mouth. It turns out he was crying. Namjoon and Felix come to his side, embracing him and providing comfort. Yeonjun looks at my worried expression and mimics Taehyung's crying like a toddler, making a funny face. I can't help but chuckle and shake my head at Taehyung's emotional display.

He turns back around, sniffing, as Felix pats his shoulder and steps away. Taehyung looks at me, straightening his posture with a renewed smile forming on his lips. As I take steps towards the stairs, leaving my dad's arm, Taehyung offers me his hand, helping me ascend. I gladly accept it, walking beside him, until we reach the center of the stage. I look ahead, facing my friends, relatives, and the media, maintaining a warm smile. Glancing at Taehyung beside me, I find him already gazing down at me. He leans closer to my ear and whispers, "You look just as I dreamt of you in my dreams last night. Actually, you look even more ethereal than my dreams." Blushing at his comment, I cast my gaze downward, then bring it back up to meet his. "And you yourself look just like a prince, a prince who will soon be a king," I reply, as he smirks and nods in agreement.

As we stand opposite each other, with a mere 10 cm separating us, the priest steps forward and begins with the vows. "Kim Taehyung, do you take Lee Y/n to be your lawful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"I, Kim Taehyung, take you, Lee Y/n, to be my lawful wife," he declares, his eyes fixed on me. The priest nods before turning his attention to me, repeating the same question.

"Lee Y/n, do you take Kim Taehyung to be your lawful husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

I close my eyes, taking a deep breath, before finally uttering, "I do take Kim Taehyung to be my lawful husband." The priest nods once again, confirming our vows, and then announces, "You have declared your consent before the church, and now you are lawfully husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Taehyung looks at me, his eyes filled with affection, and steps closer, gently holding my hands. He leans in, kissing me with tenderness. After a few seconds, he pulls back, his gaze shifting to the crowd in front of us. We raise our intertwined hands, acknowledging the cheers and applause from everyone. Then, we turn to our families, who nod at us with beaming smiles. Taehyung and I exchange another glance before he lifts me up in the air, embracing me tightly for all to see.

Fifteen minutes later, Taehyung and I stand before a magnificent four-tiered cake, while Taehyung's dad pops open a bottle of champagne. He exclaims, "Yoohoo! Finally, the Kims and Lees are family, not just business partners. Today is a grand day for both families. I congratulate and cheer for this new journey of ours!" As he pours wine into everyone's glasses, we raise them, displaying them to the audience, and cheer before savoring the drink.

Next, Taehyung and I cut the cake amidst the cheers of our loved ones. We share a small bite of it, symbolizing our union, before offering it to our family and friends. My dad then takes the floor, expressing gratitude to everyone for their presence and blessings. He thanks the media for capturing this memorable day and announces that dinner is now served, inviting everyone to enjoy themselves. The room fills with applause as everyone goes about celebrating, and we are left to bask in the joy of our special day.

Three hours had passed,

And the hall had emptied, leaving only our family and close friends behind. Exhausted, I sank into a chair, and Hyunjin handed me a bottle of orange juice to replenish my energy. I thanked him and took a long sip, feeling refreshed. Taehyung sat to my right, while Yeonjun sat to my left, and Jisyoung and Felix attended to the remaining guests.

Suddenly, a wave of fatigue washed over me, making my eyelids heavy. I fought to keep them open, resisting the urge to surrender to sleep. But the struggle became increasingly difficult, and eventually, darkness enveloped me, rendering me motionless. I could still hear the worried voices around me, but I couldn't respond. Eventually, even those voices faded away...

Five hours later,

I slowly opened my eyes, finding myself in a completely different room. Startled, I sat up in bed, recognizing it as my husband's room—a morally gray space that contrasted with my pristine white room. I pushed the comforter aside and stood up, searching for Taehyung. The sound of water splashing came from the bathroom, and I sighed, sitting back on the bed, contemplating what had happened.

How did the wedding conclude? How did Taehyung bring me to his place—no, our place now? Lost in my thoughts, the bathroom door opened, revealing Taehyung wrapped in a towel, his upper body exposed and water droplets glistening on his chiseled abs. His wet, tousled hair framed his forehead. My eyes widened, and I gasped, quickly covering my eyes with my hands.

As Taehyung approached, he gently removed my hands from my face, guiding me to look up at him with his finger under my chin. My eyes remained closed, and he whispered, "Open your eyes, Y/n. You need to get used to this now, darling." My heart raced, and a sudden realization struck me:

"What have I gotten myself into? Aarrgghh!"
