Y/n's POV:
I made sure to get all my work done as quickly as I could today. I wanted to finish a little early so I could finish up the basement. Scarlett is picking Ava up from school today so I can focus on the last few touches. Then it'll all be done and ready for us to start using.
When I get home, I change out of my uniform and get everything out that I'm going to need. The main thing I need to get done is fitting the units in place that will hold the Lego sets. Thankfully, I bought special boxes for when we moved. It made it much easier to create the units as all the sections were the same size.
The units run along a whole wall, and I've got space for it to grow with any new sets we get. I've also got another wall I can add extra units to if we get a little too crazy! When they're in and securely fastened to the wall, I start bringing down all the boxes and lay them out on the floor.
I look at them for a while and order them in some logical sense. I end up grouping them into different types. For example, Marvel ones, Landmarks, City sets and dinosaurs. I slide each box in their specific order and they fit perfectly in the units, and I smile proudly to myself.
To make sure Ava can easily see what the sets are, I print off some stickers with the names and put them on the end of the box so she can see it easily. When they're all done, I place the Empire State building set, that Scarlett bought us, and place it in the building zone, ready for when it's completed.
Now the Lego section was done I just have to finish the music area. But before I have a chance, I hear the door close upstairs. I quickly run up the stairs as I want to keep Scarlett and Ava out until I'm done so they can see it finished.
When I reach the top of the stairs, I hear Ava telling Scarlett about an annoying boy at school and I can't help but laugh at Scarlett agreeing with everything she was saying. When I appear in the kitchen, I'm greeted by them both. Ava gives be a big hug, whilst Scarlett walks over and gives me a quick peck on the lips.
"A parcel came for you today." Scarlett comments and I look a little confused. She places the box on the kitchen counter and Ava sits up on the stool looking at it. "Can I open it Mummy?" She asks. "Sure bug, though I'm not sure what it is." I reply. I see her fiddling with the tape to get into the box whilst I'm wracking my brains over what it could be. The only thing I've ordered recently is....
"AVA NO!" I shout, rushing over to her as she rips off the tape. Scarlett looks at me in shock that I just shouted, and she glares at me. I give her a look back to try and make her realise what is happening. Then her own eyes grow wide. "Why can't I open it?" Ava asks quietly. "I'm sorry bug. I forgot I ordered you a surprise and I don't want to ruin it!" I quickly make up and her face lights up. "If it's for me, why can't I open it now?" She asks.
"We're waiting for another part of the surprise before we give it to you." Scarlett quickly jumps in, and Ava seems happy with that answer. "Oh ok. Can I see the basement yet?" She changes subject, but my heart is still beating rapidly in my chest at the close call. "It's almost done bug. Why don't you change and do your homework and then I'll bring you down." I suggest.
She nods and runs off upstairs. I lift up the flap of the parcel and I see the sex toys that Scarlett and I had ordered yesterday. "I thought they weren't due for a few more days." Scarlett questions when she looks over my shoulder and sees what's there. "Me too. Hence why I was allowing Ava to open it!" I answer back. "Yeah, that was a close call." Scarlett laughs.
"Hey it's not funny! That would have been such an awkward conversation to have with Ava. What if she had told people at school?" I moan but Scarlett is still laughing. "Well, that seems like a you problem. She is your daughter after all." She jokes. I gasp at her response. "And here I thought you wanted to be her Mama one day." I respond in fake shook. "Oh, I do. But as I'm not yet, I'm definitely using the card to get out of any awkward conversations until she's calling me Mama." Scarlett replies.
I can't help but laugh. "I guess I'm going to need a word with Ava." I mumble, jokingly turning to walk upstairs. Scarlett slaps my shoulder. "Don't you dare. She'll do it in her own time." Scarlett scolds. "Like I would! Besides, I reckon she is waiting for a ring to make it official." I drop with a wink. I see Scarlett's mouth fall open in shock and her body freezes. I walk over towards her and place a kiss on her cheek. "Oh, and Ava's staying at Robert's tomorrow." I add seductively before turning to walk away, giggling to myself as I make my way back down to the basement.
Focusing back on the task at hand, I work out what's left to do. I made a last minute decision, this morning, and have bought some speakers which I'll put up so we can listen to music or connect up the amps or keyboard. That thankfully didn't take me too long to install and then it was a case of grabbing the instruments and bringing them down and setting them all up.
I had built another unit for in here to hold any music books or accessories for the instruments and connected up a laptop which had some music editing software on it. There is a microphone and headset already to be used if needed. Happy that everything is done and in its rightful place, I finish up with putting the final posters up and putting trunking or cable tidies in to make sure everything is looking neat and tidy.
Knowing it's all done, I take a step back and admire the room which just 4 days ago was a grey, dark room. I'm pretty proud of it, even if I say so myself. I head back upstairs and let Scarlett and Ava know that it's time for the grand unveiling.
We let Ava go down first and she hit the switch at the bottom of the stairs which turned on the spotlights. Both her and Scarlett gasp as they look around the completed space. They walked around and I showed them the switches for the different lights for each section.
As Ava is looking through her Lego sets to make sure I haven't missed any, Scarlett wraps her arm around me and pulls me close. "I can't believe you did this all on your own in like 4 days!" She exclaims and I turn to smile at her. "Well, I had Ava. She was a great help." I reply and Scarlett's eyes glisten as I talk. "I think you are insanely talented. Maybe you should do all the house renovations we end up doing." She suggests, leaning her head on my shoulder as we watched Ava marching around the room. "I'd like that." I whisper in reply, placing a kiss on her head.
As it's getting late, we decide to wait until tomorrow to start building the Empire State. Instead, we enjoy the evening together on the sofa. Living our perfect life.

The next day at work I was excited to get home and work on the Lego set together. I know, I'm a big kid, but it's nice to do something as a family. Ava is going to Robert's for dinner and to stay overnight, but we reckon we can make a good start before she goes. Then Scarlett and I have the house to ourselves...
But my day is slightly ruined when Capt Julia Kingston knocks on my door. She joined our unit a few weeks ago and has been bedding in pretty well. She's from Canada and has such a great sense of humour. It's been nice having another woman around as it can get a little tiring sometimes just being surround by men.
She came in to inform me that the two of us will have to fly to London next week to run a training course for the British units that are going on deployment. The deployment that I was meant to be going on myself. It's only for 4 of days, but I still hate when I'm away from Scarlett. Thankfully it's after the premiere this weekend.
Because my car is in for its service today, Scarlett is picking me up from work. I'm meeting her at the main gate to save having to book her onto camp and Julia has kindly offered to give me a lift down there as it's about a 20 minute walk from our office.
When we get there, Scarlett is waiting for me, resting against the bonnet of her car. As soon as she sees me, her eyes light up. We walk towards each other and have a quick hug and a kiss before I turn to introduce her to Julia. "Hi angel. This is my colleague, Julia. She joined our team a few weeks ago." Julia teases and I feel my cheeks blush.
To anyone else, Scarlett would seem genuinely happy. But to me, I can see a fire in her eyes. She's jealous. She is insanely hot when she's jealous. But there's nothing to worry about here. Julia is straight and very happily married with two kids.
After a very quick conversation, I jump in Scarlett's car, and we start the journey home. "How was your day?" She asks, her demeanour changing. "Busy. But I got some news. I have to go to London next Tuesday for a training session. I'll be back on Friday afternoon." I tell her, wanting to get this out of the way before we're home.
She sighs but takes my hand. "Ok. I actually have an easy schedule next week so looking after Ava won't be an issue. What's the session for? Is Jimmy going?" She asks. "We're training the unit that is going to deploy next month. We're doing basic language training and going through the processes for working with the Afghan army." I start to explain, and she nods along, taking in everything I'm saying.
"Jimmy won't be going, but Julia is joining as this will be a role she's taking on. Which means I won't have to do it in the future, saving me a lot of work!" I explain, but the eye roll from Scarlett doesn't go unmissed. "You ok my love?" I ask, giving her hand a squeeze. "Yeah, I'm fine." She responds with her fake smile. "Julia's married Scar. No need to be jealous." I tease her lightly. "Didn't stop my exes." She mumbles but I hear it.
I hate that she's still insecure about that. "Well, even if she decides to throw herself at me, which she won't, I am not interested in her in the slightest. So, you've got nothing to worry about." I try to reassure her, but it doesn't seem to work. She hums and let's go of my hand, it returning to the steering wheel.
I try so hard to not get annoyed. I've done nothing wrong, yet she seems pissed with me. Is she going to be like that with every woman that comes into our lives. Even if she can't trust them, surely, she should trust me.
I decide to leave it, not in the mood for an argument. The journey to the garage is silent. When we pull up, I grab my bag and open the door. "I'll see you at home after I've picked up Ava." I tell her but her focus stays ahead of her. I sigh when I don't get a response and make my way to collect my car.
After I collect my car, I head to pick Ava up from school. She runs out the building holding a big piece of paper in her hands that she is peering over the top of. "Mummy look what we made!" She tells me excitedly, holding up the paper in front of me. It's got lots of pictures with a title, my dream holiday. "Wow, bug. This looks amazing. Did you do it all by yourself?" I ask and she nods proudly.
She goes through and explains the different pictures she drew, from a beach to a play park, to Lego and roller coasters. It would definitely be a manic holiday that's for sure. Then there's a cute little picture of the three of us. One little figure is in between two bigger ones which she points out as Scarlett and me.
I take it and place it in the boot flat, so it doesn't get damaged, and we make our way home. As soon as I hand Ava the paper, she's running in to show Scarlett. Whilst they're distracted, I head upstairs to change out of my uniform and have a shower. Almost as soon as I'm done, Ava is dragging Scarlett and me down to the basement to start work on the new Lego set.
Ava decides on the different parts that we'll each be making and then sends us to work. I try to start up some conversation, but Scarlett is still being a bit standoffish, which is really starting to piss me off now. Unable to stand the silence, I grab my phone and connect it to the speakers so there is some noise to drown out the tension.
We work for a couple of hours before we're distracted by the doorbell. Scarlett takes Ava upstairs to greet Robert and get her things, whilst I clean up the Lego, making sure we don't lose any pieces. I eventually join them and say goodbye to Ava as she skips off to Robert's car.
I close the door and turn around to see Scarlett looking at me, but she quickly looks away and moves to the kitchen. Ok, she's still pissed. I roll my eyes and make my way upstairs, deciding on just removing myself from this situation and allowing her to come to me when she's realises, I've doing nothing wrong!
I get changed into my pyjamas and grab my book I've been reading. I slip my glasses on as I'm tired and it gives me a headache reading without them. I get comfortable and enjoy getting back into my book. Falling into the written world in front of me.
A little while later Scarlett appears at the door. "Are you not going to sit with me in the living room?" She asks and I fight to hide a scoff. "I didn't think you wanted me around you." I say flatly and she sighs. She takes a seat on the bed next to me, but I keep my gaze on my book. "I'm sorry." She says, almost at a whisper.
I still keep my eyes locked on my book, though I'm no longer reading. She sighs once again. "I'm sorry for being mad at you." She says louder and this time I turn to her. "What have I done to make you mad at me?" I ask her firmly and she drops her gaze to her hands. "You've done nothing wrong. I was just jealous and worried about you being with Julia." She admits. "But Scarlett, what is there to worry about? So what you don't like Julia. But you know me, do you not trust me?" I ask, pain filling my voice.
"What?! Of course I do, don't ever think that I don't." She defends, taking my hand in hers. "I get that you've been hurt in the past, but I would never do that to you. You can't get mad at me any time I'm around another woman." I tell her, wanting to make my point clear. "I know, I just get so jealous, and I hate the thought of someone else being with you." She shares.
I raise my hand and place it on her cheek. "But I'm never going to be with anyone else. You are the person I plan to spend the rest of my life with, no one else. So please, stop punishing me just for being around someone else." I plea with her and she nods. "I'm so sorry Y/n. I'll work on it, I promise." She says confidently. I can see that she regrets how she's been acting, and I can't imagine how it must feel when she's been cheated on far too many times.
I lean forward and place a kiss on her forehead, then her nose, followed by her lips which causes her to giggle. "Come and sit with me up here?" I ask and she nods eagerly. She rushes around the room to get changed and do her nightly routine before climbing into bed next to me.
