"Where's Oikawa?!"

Okada grumbled, leaning back from her stretch as she recounted all the girls in the gym.

"Kaneko!"

Kaneko tensed up, glancing up at Okada mid leg stretch.

"Did she tell you anything?"

Kaneko pursed her lips, swallowing as she mentally apologized to you.

"She said she was meeting with the Karasuno girls again."

Okada stayed quiet, glancing at the clock situated across the gym to get a glimpse of the time.

"Has she been there all day? She should've seen our message for this impromptu practice at some point." Okada grumbled, not expecting a response but getting one anyways.

"She doesn't use her phone while she's over there, she says it'll distract her from what she's doing."

Okada clicked her tongue, impatiently tapping her foot on the ground as she looked at the rest of the team.

Originally, there wasn't practice scheduled for the day, but because Kojima had let them know he wouldn't be able to come in for the official practice the next day they pushed it up.

Everyone had agreed in the group chat, and everyone had shown up right on time.

Two hours ago.

Okada sighed, knowing she couldn't blame you for not being able to come on such short notice, but she couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed.

More so as a captain than upperclassman.

It was anticipated that you'd get the captain position for next year, but when stuff like this happened, she couldn't help but second guess her recommendation.

She shook off the thoughts, leading the lasts of the final stretches before everyone was let go.

She closed up the gym doors with Mori, locking the doors as she quietly put her keys back in her bag.

She walked with Mori, mindlessly looking around at the campus in its summer setting in comfortable silence.

"Yoshiko."

Mori hummed, glancing at Okada as she looked back at the campus entrance.

"How far is Karasuno?"

...

"Wow." Okada said, carefully walking through the campus entrance of Karasuno.

She looked around, carefully inspecting every nook and cranny as she looked for any signs that could offer up any kind of help.

"Are we sure this is a school? Why is it all so... eerie?" Okada asked, glancing at Mori before jumping back when a random crow flew out from behind a trash can.

Okada gripped at her chest, her breathing heavy as she looked back at Mori in shock, even more shocked to see Mori's unchanged expression as she slurped on her yogurt.

Okada grumbled, quickly straightening up as she patted down her tracksuit jacket, nudging at Mori to lead the way.

Mori silently rolled her eyes, beginning to walk forward as she led Okada through the unrecognizable school. They walked around for a couple minutes, Okada sighing extra loudly as she put a hand on Mori's shoulder.

"I think we're lost, Yoshiko."

Mori hummed in agreement, looking around as she pointed to the water fountain up ahead.

Okada raised a brow at her, following her finger as she pressed her lips together in thought.

"If there's a water fountain nearby... that must mean there's a sports team too!"

Okada smiled brightly, pulling Mori along as they walked side by side towards the water fountain.

Okada yawned, squinting as she looked up to the blaring sun overhead.

"Do you think Y/N's at a place with air conditioning?" She asked Mori, bringing her hand up to cut through the rays of sun shooting at her face.

"I'd hope so." Mori responded, reaching up to swipe away a trail of sweat from her forehead.

"Yea," Okada sighed, slowly closing her eyes as she looked back ahead. "I'd hope so TOO-" She said, her words morphing into a scream as she jumped back at the sudden mask in her face. Unlike Mori, who almost instantly punched the mask in the middle of its face, hearing it crack from her force as Okada hid behind her.

"What the fuck is this about?!" Okada yelled from behind Mori, pointing at the masked figure who now stood slightly slumped forward. "Could this place be haunted, Yoshi? Did we just anger a wandering spirit which is now gonna follow us for the rest of our mortal lives?!" She rambled.

Mori sighed, dragging her hand down her face before reaching up to her shoulders to unclip Okada's fingers from them.

"No. This is a person, a living one." Mori stated, walking up to the masked figure as it flinched at her sudden forwardness.

"Now, you either help us find where we have to go, or that mask of yours won't be the only thing cracking because of my fists." Mori said, smiling earnestly at the masked figure.

"So you're traveling to Seoul?" You asked.

Goshiki nodded as he sucked the yogurt in his hold. "Yup, my father got called over for some surgery." He explained, looking at you hum as you looked up at the sky.

"Well I think my Tokyo friends are coming next week too, so I'll drag them along with me to these practices." You smiled, looking back at Goshiki before ruffling his hair.

Goshiki softly giggled, nodding before following in your steps as you walked through the campus.

"Are we-"

"What's so hard to understand?!" Goshiki was cut off by the sudden raised voice coming from the water fountain.

"We're only here to look for someone, and the least you could do after scaring us is give us bloody directions."

You raised a brow, recognizing the voice almost instantly as you looked back at Goshiki, nodding at him to follow you over.

He nodded back, copying your step as you began walking towards the voice, the voice's owners soon coming into view.

"We already told you we don't know who you're looking for." A boy grumbled back, a masked figure hiding behind him.

You walked closer as you inspected the boys standing around, you failed to recognize the two mask-less ones, inevitably failing to recognize the masked one as well. Though there was someone else with them this time around, a blonde, nervous looking girl who hid behind the masked figure.

You sighed, shaking off the thoughts as you walked closer, the sound of your steps breaking up the fight.

"Okada-san, Mori-san... what brings you two here?" You asked, seeing as both their faces momentarily relaxed upon seeing you.

"Y/N, you rascal!" Okada huffed, lunging herself at you as she easily tackled you to the ground.

You heard chatter all around you, but opened your eyes to see Okada hovering over you, rambling on about something you didn't bother to pay attention to.

You turned to the side, seeing as Goshiki dusted off your sports bag before slipping it on himself. He looked into your eyes moments later, smiling brightly as you smiled back.

You glanced back at Okada still nagging at you before looking at Goshiki and mouthing the words; "watch this."

As soon as you finished you sat up and pushed Okada back. Now you were the one hovering over her as you locked her limbs in place.

You smiled brightly. "It was a pleasure meeting you here, Rai-san, but I've got to head out before my Ma starts to worry, so thank you for coming to check up on me! But I'll see you tomorrow at practice." You said in two quick breaths, before hopping up and running towards Goshiki.

You gripped onto his hand, pulling him along with you as you sprinted down the paths. You slightly turned around with a small hop, calling out a goodbye to both Mori and Okada before sprinting out of their view.

Okada laid confused on the dirt path, looking up at the slowly moving clouds before Mori leaned over to look down at her.

"Oi, get up, you're embarrassing us." She noted, standing up straight again as Okada sighed and sat up in one motion.

She looked to her side, the blonde girl flinching as they made eye contact. She raised a brow at her, slowly getting up as she patted away all the dirt on her clothes.

"Well, this was fun." She said, dusting her hands off before reaching for her bag and throwing it on.

She walked up next to Mori, glancing back at the trio and the blonde with a monotone expression. "I hope this is the first and last time we meet... for your sake of course." She asserted, finishing it off with a sly grin before quickening her step to catch up to Mori.

"Au revoir, you little tricksters." She concluded, raising a hand up as a form of goodbye before sticking her hands into her pockets and following Mori out of the school campus.

...

"Yah! Yachi-san! How'd it go?"

Yachi mindlessly walked forward, unaware of Tanaka's call for her until Hinata repeated it but louder.

She stuttered out a response. "Ah, it went... okay?"

Tanaka and Noya both raised their brows at her response. "I'm sure it couldn't have been that bad! Unless you met some sort of Shiratorizawa bastard, those chumps always manage to mess things up in one way or another." He grumbled, remembering the times in which he had tried to approach you with the others but was quickly dismissed by your companions glares.

Yachi went pale at the mention of Shiratorizawa, quickly shaking her head as she looked back up at Kageyama walking up to the little group.

"I saw your girlfriend, Kageyama-kun."

Kageyama raised a brow, squirting some water into his mouth before swallowing it and asking, "Y/N?"

Yachi nodded, slightly rocking back and forth. "Her seniors came searching for her and we met them outside while Ennoshita-san tried to scare one of them."

They all looked back at Ennoshita, the cracked mask and his bruised up nose suddenly making a lot more sense.

Yachi continued explaining, her voice breaking as she stuttered here and there. "They were these two like one hundred eighty centimeter girls, and then one of them tackled Y/N-san and-"

"Oikawa-san." Kageyama corrected her.

Yachi nodded, slightly blushing before continuing. "Yes, Oikawa-san, but then she got up and tackled her back before thanking her for something and running out with her friend. The dark haired boy who always comes along with her, and once they left the two girls stood up and looked at us with these glares before saying goodbye and leaving." She finished, slumping in on herself as she fiddled with her fingers.

The boys hummed, Tanaka sighing as he broke the silence.

"Well it sounds like the girls are just as trashy as the guys." He lamented, both Kageyama and Hinata raising a brow at him.

"Why? You know how often girls get picked on, and how easy it is for them to be harmed in this society. Punching a masked figure and being mad at them is a defensive reaction." Hinata offered, tilting his head up at Tanaka in confusion. "Does protecting themselves make them trashy?"

"I... uh—well." Tanaka stuttered, trying to think of what to respond.

"Not only that, but neither of the teams are trashy people." Kageyama commented further, everyone's attention back to him as he stared at Tanaka with his usual blank expression. "I think the guys treat you the same way they treat any other guy who wants to approach Y/N. They're some of her closest friends so it's only natural they're protective of her. And like Hinata was saying, protecting themselves, and being defensive because of it, doesn't make the girls trashy either."

Tanaka blinked up at Kageyama, Hinata humming in agreement as the guys around them broke out in laughter.

"You're the trashy one here, Tanaka!"

"Oh, what a man."

"Getting told off by first years now."

Tanaka blushed, waving off his friends as he tried to regain face.

"Agh whatever, I was wrong okay! Now quit teasin'!"

...

*Amiga - friend (feminine form)

"Oh mai gad." Komori gasped, looking at you and Tooru approaching from across the station. "Amiga*?! Is that you!"

You snickered brightly, picking up your steps as you closed the distance between the two of you. "Amiga Motoya!"

You both brightly giggled, raising both arms up as he caught you in his arms, swinging you around a couple times before letting you down.

"I'm so excited! Miyagi, with my favorite Y/N-chan." He grinned, leaning back before quickly composing himself and turning to look at Tooru, who had just finished greeting Sakusa.

"Hello Tooru-san! It's great to see you again." He smiled, dabbing Tooru up as he snickered in response.

"So I don't get a heartfelt welcome like little bunny did?"

Komori hummed, extending his arms to welcome him for a hug before Tooru quickly scowled and stepped back. "I take it back, I'm alright."

They both laughed boisterously, turning to look back at you and Sakusa only to have their faces fall into scowls.

You were smiling coyly at Sakusa as he was slightly bent forward for you to better reach the top of his head.

You were lightly touching it, before glancing back down at Sakusa to see if he showed any hints of pain. Which he never did.

But the posture of you both with the smiles and tints on your cheeks made it seem like Tooru and Komori were extras in your love story.

"Oi!" Komori called out, both of you looking back to them as they glared at you with crossed arms. "Quit whining unless you want me to give you another bruise to cry about."

Sakusa's smile immediately fell into a scowl, standing up straight as he took one step towards Komori with a half-raised fist.

Komori was quick to hide behind Tooru however, before making mocking faces at Sakusa to taunt him.

Tooru and you both snickered at the encounter, helping them with their bags as you began making your way back home.

-

"So what've you been up to recently, Y/N-chan?" Komori asked, sitting down in your living room with you and Sakusa after your brother had to run off to practice.

"The usual, practice, sleep, study..." You coughed on that last word, making quotation marks with your fingers as he snickered, Sakusa smiling softly.

"Oh, but I picked up this, like, coaching gig." You mentioned, both of the boys looking at you in confusion.

"Coaching?"

You hummed. "I actually wanted to ask you two about that, could you help me out on one day?"

"Sure." Komori was quick to agree, receiving one of your bright smiles as you quickly thanked him, before you both looked over at Sakusa. He blinked up at both of you, leaning back from his straw to scowl.

"You want me," He said, bending his hand back towards his chest, "to help coach a bunch of gremlins?"

You both nodded enthusiastically, Sakusa's scowl only deepening.

"Never in a thousand years."

"I hate you both." Sakusa grumbled, tightly holding onto your hand as you walked onto the Karasuno campus.

You had led him out by telling him you'd go play volleyball at the nearby park, urging him to hold your hand as you played it off as a comfort thing. Which was a total lie, because now you had a death grip on his hand as you dragged him to the girls gym.

"We better not be training children." He grumbled, kicking a random rock in the path on the back of Komori's leg.

Komori squealed as you jumped up, glaring back at Sakusa who grinned beneath his mask.

"Nope, we're helping this school's girls volleyball club, they're all around our age." You explained, feeling Sakusa slightly relax as he hummed.

"You owe me an endless amount of umeboshi." He grumbled once more, looking at you as you giggled brightly.

"Anything for my pouty little weasel." You grinned, reaching up to push a stray piece of hair out of his face.

Sakusa rolled his eyes, quickly looking away to try and hide his blush as Komori snickered devilishly.

You reached the gym shortly after, opening the door for them as you all changed into your indoor shoes.

You walked up to Michimiya, introducing Komori and Sakusa before stepping back as the rest of the team huddled around.

You felt Sakusa instinctively reaching for your hand, feeling him sweat from nervousness or from being locked in a gym with bad conditioning and a bunch of germs. Most likely due to the latter.

You cleared your throat to get their attention.

"Hello again everyone, I just wanted to introduce these two to you all before getting started. Goshiki isn't here this week so when I come in, my two friends will come in with me instead. They're from Tokyo, but they're here visiting for the week. No worries though, they also play volleyball, so I'll let them introduce themselves." You smiled, looking at Komori first as he smiled and stepped up.

"Hello! I'm Komori Motoya, and I play libero for our team." He informed them, stepping back as you both looked up at Sakusa.

He simply blinked, remaining silent until he felt you pinch the back of his hand.

"Sakusa Kiyoomi."

Both you and Komori sighed, Komori quickly stepped up again as he re-introduced Sakusa.

"This is Sakusa, he's our outside hitter and ace. Oh and we're cousins by the way." He finished, smiling warmly as he stepped back and looked towards you again.

You nodded.

"I think that's about it, if you have any questions feel free to ask them as well, they're knowledgeable about all positions so no worries."

You nodded, dismissing to begin stretching as Sakusa insisted on stepping outside for a breather. Komori snickered and followed him as you sat up on the stage, mindlessly listening in on the team's chatter.

"Are they even any good?"

"Why does she have so many guy friends?"

"They didn't even say what school they were from... they're probably bad if they're avoiding it."

"I definitely feel like I would've noticed someone as handsome as them on the TV if they were at nationals."

You inwardly snickered at that last statement, not really eager to tell them off when you knew that the boys' skills would shut them up.

"Oikawa-chan!"

You looked back, raising a brow as you nodded at the girl calling for you. "What's up Aihara-san?"

"Quick question."

You nodded.

"What school are your friends from, and where did you meet them?"

You smiled, hopping off the stage as Komori and Sakusa walked back in.

"They're from Itachiyama Institute." You said, watching as some of the girls paled, immediately connecting the name to the name of the school who had just won the most recent nationals. "They're one of the schools we have training camp with, but I'm honestly not all sure when we became friends."

Komori and Sakusa stepped up next to you, getting the brief idea of what you were talking about and trying to think of when you had met after you looked towards them for help.

"Was it when we met you at that café in Tokyo?" Komori asked, looking up at you as you thought back to that day.

"All-Japan training camp." Sakusa said, looking at you as you shook your head.

"I was already friends with Motoya at that point."

Sakusa shook his head, pointing at himself as you blinked up at him. "Me. That's when we became friends... ish."

You hummed, remembering your encounters with Sakusa at the training camp before lightly snickering.

"I think I became friends with 'Toya-chan when we met at a cafe in Tokyo, and because our parents are business partners, but I didn't become friends with Yoomi until we went to the All-Japan training camp together." You decided, looking back at Aihara with a bright smile.

She, along with many of her teammates, was pale.

"So you mean to tell us... that all three of you were invited to participate in the All-Japan youth camp?" She asked, all three of you nodding.

Aihara let out a small sigh, stepping back as she looked at Michimiya. "You have some crazy connections, Yui."

Sakusa, Komori and you looked at them confused, unsure of how to respond to their reactions so you quickly explained the drill.

"Since we have Motoya and Kiyoomi here today, we'll be doing a defensive and attacking drill. Kiyo and I will stand on either side of the net to observe your spikes as Komori will stand behind the opposite side to look at your libero, I'm looking at you Nozomi-chan." You explained, looking at their second year libero.

"Then once that's done we'll do a couple rounds of all of you shooting down at 'Toya-chan and Nozomi-chan. We'll end practice with a little scrimmage, you'll practice your set up against us three and we'll go from there, okay?" You finished, looking at them nod before humming and starting the first drill.

-

"Left!" Aihara called out, clenching her jaw before scowling as she saw Sakusa jump up to block her. She spiked at his fingers, the ball gliding up as Komori was quick to step underneath it.

"Y/N!"

"Got 'em!" You called back, looking back at Sakusa running up and Komori adjusting himself to run up as well.

You jumped up, calling out to Sakusa as he leapt up.

Two blockers drifted towards him, leaving one to block you as you grinned and instead passed it directly behind you to Komori.

He smiled as he jumped up and spiked it down, easily overpowering the one blocker.

You all landed, looking towards the scoreboard to see the ending numbers. Komori and you cheered, high-fiving one another as Sakusa evened out his breathing, offering you a small smile and Komori a wicked scowl.

Komori clicked his tongue, about to bicker before you raised your voice.

"That's two to one, our game." You concluded, watching as the girls sighed and slumped down.

You hummed, catching the water bottle Komori was passing you and quickly squirting some water into your mouth before raising your voice again.

"There's no need to be discouraged; even if we're only three players, you all were quick to wave us off and see it as an easy game. A win is never promised, and if you go in with that mentality, it sure as hell won't be easy." You sighed, glancing over the girls as some looked up at you.

"Also, we're all a project of our surroundings. All three of us," You said, pointing between yourself and the boys, "are working towards playing professionally in the future, so we spend almost all of our time playing volleyball. We're where we are today after endless hours of practice. I can say that I'm not interested in going to college, so all that time I'd have to spend studying, I spend working towards my dream." You went on, watching as some of the girls looked up at you perplexed.

"We're all working for different things, and it's okay to have different skill levels at something like a sport, but it's important to have fun while playing. Since, in case you haven't noticed, if you're not having fun, you won't play to the best of your potential. Just now, you probably saw us laughing over our mistakes, or bickering over our spikes and sets, but that's just us having fun. I can assure you all that if you make it your goal to go out on the court and have fun, you'll play ten times better." You grinned, finishing off your statement with a squirt of water before waving them off.

"We'll play again next time, hopefully you'll all take into consideration what I've said today." You smiled, walking off and quickly stretching before excusing yourself and the boys and walking home.

"You know."

You hummed, glancing up at Komori as you walked through the shades of the trees.

"When we were coming to Miyagi, we didn't have plans to help you coach another team in your prefecture." He said, glancing at you smiling sheepishly at him.

"But this wasn't all that bad." He concluded, looking at you visibly relax as you pulled your gym bag up.

"That doesn't mean we're okay with only playing volleyball this whole week." Sakusa added, looking down at you furrow your brows as he grinned.

"Excuse you, I have a full itinerary set out for this week."

"Oh, do you?" Sakusa asked, sarcasm laced in his tone.

You scoffed, nodding as you stopped them both. "I do actually, the first one being 'get ice cream after first practice.'" You exclaimed, pointing across the street to the little ice cream shop you and your brother often frequented.

"Now." You said, straightening yourself up as you looped your arms through theirs. "Shall we, gentlemen?"

"We shall." Komori snickered in response, Sakusa puffing out a small laugh as he followed your whims and let you drag him into the shop.
