As they hear the whistle blow, Draco and Lilith look out the window to see a family of red-heads running to make sure they catch the train in time. Turning to face the other, they raise their eyebrows and give each other a look of disgust. Shaking their heads, Lilith takes an advanced potions book from her trunk and sits right next to Draco. The two of them share a love of potions and Severus has been teaching them both since they were around 7 years old. As they were talking about the potion they were reading about, they heard a knock on the compartment door. Looking up, they see two identical red-heads.
Draco stands up and opens the door, "Yes?".
One of the presumed twins responds, "All of the other compartments are full". The other twin continues, "Can we sit with you two?".
Draco looks back at Lilith, who nods, "Yeah that should be fine".
Draco goes back to sit next to Lilith, as the twins sit across from them. Draco squints at them slightly and can't help but feel a sense of déjà vu.
"Forgive me for this, but I can't help but feel like you look a little familiar. What are your names?".
"We are George" "and Fred Weasley".
Lilith physically stiffens, "Did you say Weasley?".
"Yes. Are you Draco and Lilith?".
Draco responds defensively, holding her hand, "Yes we are. What of it?".
"We heard you guys had a run in" "With our younger brother and sister".
Lilith sighs, "Yes. We did. Not exactly the best first impression".
"That's what we heard as well" "Though we suspect they told a different story" "They painted you two" "To be quite the villains in the story".
Draco sighs, "Of course they did".
"Not to worry" "We know better than to trust their judgment" "So what really happened?".
Lilith and Draco give them a recount of what happened from their perspective. The twins seemed to be quite sympathetic by the end of it. Just as they are finishing up, they hear a gasp and the sliding of the compartment door. They turn to see the young red-headed boy, looking very shocked at the twins.
"What are you guys doing here? Why are you sitting with them?".
Lilith looks at him with disgust, "Excuse me? What's that supposed to mean?".
"You know what it means".
Lilith goes to stand up, when Draco puts his hand on her shoulders and pulls her back down to sit.
"Ok, that's enough. For your information, Weasel, your brothers are the ones that decided to sit in our compartment and we were having a good chat before you interrupted".
Ron turns to the twins, "Is that true?".
"Why yes it is" "Little brother".
Ron stares shockingly at them, turning to Lilith and Draco in disgust before storming out of the compartment and slamming shut the sliding door. Lilith lets out a big sigh, placing her head in her hands and leaning over on her legs. Draco gently rubs his hand on her back.
The twins look at them, "We apologise" "For our brother's behaviour".
Draco responds, still focused on calming Lilith, "It's alright. Not your guys' fault".
Draco turns back to Lilith as he hears her breathing heavily. He takes his hand off her back and places it on her neck. This was a trick Severus taught him to do when he noticed Lilith's temper starting to bubble up. Putting a cool hand on her neck helps to calm her down by decreasing her body temperature. Letting out a sigh, she slightly turns her head to Draco.
"Thanks Dray".
He laughs quietly, "You're welcome, Lia".
The twins look at each other with smirks on their face, "Can we ask you two a question?".
Lilith looks up at them, "Uh, sure".
"How close are you two exactly?".
Lilith and Draco look at each other and look away, slight blush evident on their faces. The twins give each other a raised eyebrow.
Draco stutters, "W-we're best friends. That's all".
The twins replies, "If you say so".
For the rest of the train ride the four of them get to know each other more, striking up different topics of conversations. Despite being Weasleys, Fred and George appeared to be some of the good ones. Lilith had a good feeling about these two.
