Harry's POV:
I carried Rebecca as I walked through the woods, searching for the right place to hide her. She was shaking in my arms and hell, she looked broken. I hated seeing her like that, and sadness was replaced by anger. Anger that was caused ny that merciless demon.
I was way more relieved now that I had Rebecca back in my arms, alive. I noticed her wound on her collarbone and the anger got stronger. Someone had hurt her, and that must've been that demon, of course. Thankfully, the bleeding had stop, but the cut was deep, not deep enough to kill her, but still.
I saw a cave and decided to go there. I knew the demon wasn't there because I would've felt if he was. His presensce could be felt from miles away, and it never fails to make me sick.
I went into the cave and gently placed her down, not wanting to hurt her even more. She let small, even breaths as she leaned against the rock, her long brown hair messy. Her white dress was blood soaked and her arms and legs were covered in dirt. My heart clenched painfully at the thought that she must have been running through the woods all alone, scared and helpless.
I also felt proud of her. Even though she was alone, she managed to go through all this. Of course she was about to die in that lake if it wasn't me. That demon had sent me to the forest next to a lake and when I woke up, I saw her body falling from the clouds. I swear, I was about to lose the world under my feet as I stared at her falling from the sky.
I kneeled down next to her and gently pushed her hair away from her face before I let the back of my fingers graze her cheekbones. She was cold and had water dripping from her dress. My clothes were also soaked and my tee was sticking to my chest, back and stomach. My hand reached to take the knife from my waist band but I then realized it wasn't there. I clenched my jaw in frustration. That fucker took my knife.
So, I look around to find something to scratch my wrist to give Rebecca my blood. My eyes landed on a sharp rock and without hesitation, I reached to grab it. Muffled voices hit my ears, making me furrow my brows.
"Hit her,"
My stomach twisted as the words sunk into my brain. I blinked and decided not to pay too much attention.
But as I brought the rock on top of my wrist, the voices got louder and their tones harsh. It was difficult to think clearly when they literally started screaming at me.
"Break her skull!"
"Watch her dying!"
"Kill her!"
"Do it!"
I squeezed my eyes shut and tightened my grip around the rock, wanting to block those voices away. It was impossible though, since they were the only thing I could hear. I wanted to throw the rock away but I couldn't. My hand held it tightly, as if ready to hurt Rebecca.
"Do it!"
I opened my eyes, breathing heavily as hurt and anxiety took over me. My mind was now telling me to do it, but my heart was shouting at me to stop. I studied her innocent face and it hurt me knowing that I was going to do such thing to her.
"Kill her!"
My hand rose without my will and I used all my strength to lowered it again but nothing happened. Anger flooded through me since I knew the demon was behind all of this. He could control my body and he knew that if I hurt Rebecca, it will break my heart.
Suddenly, Rebecca started coughing, making my eyes widen with hope. She spat water and my hand was finally under my control. I lowered the rock and placed it next to me before wrapping my arms around her and pulling her tightly to my chest. Relief and concern washed through me immidiately that a heavy sigh came past my lips.
"Harry," she gasped, weakly wrapping her arms around me.
"I'm here baby, you're safe," I cooed, gently moving my hand up and down her back.
"Thank God," she breathed, tightening her arms around me. I could feel her cold unsteady breaths hit my neck, sending warmth through me. "I thought I had lost you..." she whispered, her words making my heart tug.
"I'm here now, with you, that's all that matters." I mumbled, hiding my face in her wet hair.
She was still shaking in my arms and it killed me knowing that she still couldn't calm down or feel safe. She pulled away slowly to lock eyes with me. Her hands landed on my shoulders and my hands were on her waist. My heart literally broke when I saw her hazel beautiful eyes being so scared and worried. I took in every detail of her face, her pale skin and swollen lips, her flushed cheeks and a small cut across her brow.
"D-did he hurt you?" she stuttered, her eyes flitting back and forth into my own.
I pursed my lips, wanting to tell her the truth but I knew it would hurt her. I didn't to lie to her either, so it was difficult for me to reply. Her pleading and worried eyes made me give in and let a heavy sigh before replying.
"Not as much as he hurt you." I said lowly, seeing hurt and anger flashing behind her eyes.
"What did he do to you?" she asked, her voice strong.
I shook my head gently. "You don't have to worry about that, Rebecca."
"How can you say that?" she seethed. "I don't want you to get hurt." her voice was shakey.
I felt a jolt of pain being sent to my heart. "Babe, you don't have to worry about me. You know I don't get killed easily."
She swallowed hard and took a deep breath, tears forming into her eyes. My chest tightened at the sight of her beautiful eyes being hurt. "Don't cry baby," I whispered, resting my forehead against hers. She closed her eyes and I copied her, hearing her sobs coming out of her lips.
"We're together, that's all that matters now." I murmured.
"I don't want to lose you, Harry.." she cried.
A lump appeared in my throat and my heart clenched painfully in my chest. I opened my eyes and leaned in to press softly my lips against hers. She kissed me back immidiately and I felt her cold skin turning hot. My heart pounded louder against my ribs and all the fear and anger diminished in seconds.
I heard her heart racing in her chest and I could feel her relief and concern that transported from her body to mine through the kiss. It was as if we could escape this hell for one moment and share our feelings.
I felt her salty tears connect to my lips and pulled away. I wiped her tears with my thumb, offering her a small sad smile. She sniffled and cracked a smile that didn't reach her eyes. I then glanced next to me and grabbed the rock beforr scratching my wrist, hearing her gasp.
"Ew," she grimaced. "I still can't get used to it." she sighed.
"Well, you have to drink it. It makes you stronger." I said, bringing my wrist closer to her lips.
She furrowed her brows. "Really?" she asked, taking my forearm in her hands.
"Yeah. It makes you younger and you can stand some painful hits." I informed her.
She pressed her lips to my cut and swallowed down my blood, grimacing. I couldn't help but let a small laugh at her reaction. She gave me a weird look before pulling away.
"It still sucks." she teased lightly, her eyes finally lighting up.
"I told you not to insult my blood." I teased back, wanting to see her smile, even though I knew it was almost impossible.
She gave me one tired smile, not the one I wanted to see, but it was still enough for me. I placed my hand on her shoulder lightly and kissed her cheek.
"Maybe you should rest," I suggested calmly.
"No." she shook her head and ran a hand through her hair. "I'm fine." she stated and looked ahead at the view. "How did you find this place?" she asked.
"I just did." I shrugged.
"Is it safe here?" she asked, flitting her thoughtful eyes to me.
"I don't know. Maybe." I replied.
She hummed and looked ahead before crossing her legs. "Why am I wearing this stupid dress?" she asked, looking down at her chest.
"It's nice." I said, gaining a weird look from her. "What?"
"It's blood soaked. It's definetely not nice." she claimed.
"Fine, fine," I rolled my eyes. "I want to ask you something." I said, leaning closer to her.
"What?" she asked, furrowing slightly her brows. I noticed that the cut that was across her brow was gone and it made me look at her collarbone to see that the wound there was healed.
"Before I took you out of the water I.." I took a deep breath. "I saw you falling from the clouds."
She gave me a bewildered look. "You what?"
"It's true. I saw you falling into the water and that's how I saved you. But I just wanted to know...where were you?" I asked, shaking my head gently.
She seemed taken aback, her puzzled expression seeming a little funny to me. However, I kept my serious expression since it wasn't the right time for laughs.
"I-I.." she mumbled, fear flashing behind her eyes. "I was thrown in a...in my grave.." she chocked on a sob. My shocked expression made her look down at her hands. "The demon was messing with me again.." she said quietly.
I clenched my jaw. I knew that fucker did something to my girl. My hand reached forward to take hers and give it a gentle squeeze. Some strands of her hair were falling in front of her face as she had her head slightly lowered. She took a deep breath and squeezed back before speaking again.
"I was falling in that deep hole and for a moment I saw your eyes," she looked up at me, making my knees weak. "And then I was underwater." she murmured.
"He wanted me to find you." I said skeptically.
"No." she shook her head. "Not the demon."
"Then who?"
She shrugged. "I don't know. But I'm sure it wasn't the demon." she replied.
A thunder made us both jump and her to let a small scream. My heart skipped beats and we both looked ahead to see a lightning flashing across the dark sky. And soon, it was raining. Rebecca sighed and leaned her head against my shoulder.
"I saw my friends again," she said lowly.
I raised my brows in surprise, still staring ahead. "Really?"
"Yes. They wanted to come with me but I didn't let them."
"Hmm." I hummed, wrapping my arm around her.
"Do you think they're dead?" she asked.
"I don't know, baby." I sighed. "Let's just hope they're not, okay?" I said softly.
"Yeah." she mumbled.
I suddenly saw light rising from behind us, creating shadows. I furrowed my brows and locked eyes with Rebecca. She was just as confused as I was. We both slowly turned our heads to look behind us and saw a small light coming from inside the cave.
"What the hell is this?" I asked, staring intently at the light.
Rebecca suddenly stood up, making me look up at her in confusion. She was staring at the light with wide eyes. I stood up and studied her face, noticing the way her chest started rising and falling as she breathed heavily and her pulse fastened.
"Do you hear them?" she whispered, her eyes watering.
"Hear what?" I asked, looking back at the light.
"The voices," she replied quietly. "They're calling for me.."
"What?" I gave her another confused look.
"We have to go." she said, taking my hand and leading me towards the light.
"What?! Are you-are you sure?" I shrieked, staring back at her.
She came to an abrupt halt and turned to look at me. "Do you trust me?" she asked.
I blinked, confused with what the hell was going on. "Rebecca I-,"
"Answer my question, Harry." she cut me off, seeming serious as hell.
I sighed and nodded. "Yes, I trust you."
"Then follow me. I know what I'm doing." she said sternly, her eyes showing hope.
I nodded and tightened my grip on her hand. "Okay, okay. Let's go."
She curtly nodded and led me to the light. I had a bad feeling about what was going to happen, but I trust Rebecca with my life, and I will always be there to support her.
