Being married for five years was a dream come true for Beca and Chloe Mitchell. Chloe was the most amazing woman in the world and Beca felt so lucky to have married her. She had no idea why Chloe accepted her proposal. It was the biggest mystery to her and her fellow Bellas. The two women were polar opposites and yet, they had never been happier when they were together. However, like all marriages, it was never perfect. They had their ups and downs but they managed to get through their downs no matter how difficult. That was the beauty and the gift of their marriage was they were able to overcome all obstacles of life and come out stronger on the other side and the best part of it all? They loved each other just as much as they did when they first met.
Waking up to kisses being peppered over her face and neck made Beca start the day with a smile. Chloe's kisses were Heaven and the brunette never got tired of them.
"Good morning, sunshine," Chloe greeted.
"Mm... Good morning, Mrs. M," Beca smiled, her voice low and husky from sleeping. "Someone's happy."
"I'm VERY happy. Are you?"
"I think I will be more so if this keeps up."
Opening her eyes, Beca gazed at her wife - the perfect sight first thing. Her smile widened when she remembered that she would be blessed with the sight every morning for the rest of her life.
"So, what have you got planned for us today?" Chloe asked.
"I'm not entirely sure but I know what I'd like right now..." Beca skimmed her hand across Chloe's backside, humming pleasantly.
"You're insatiable, Beca Mitchell," she giggled.
"Have you seen my wife? It's hard not to be."
No matter how long they had been together, Beca always made butterflies erupt in Chloe's stomach. It could have been the simplest of things such as a kiss on the cheek or making Chloe one of her favourite meals for dinner, it always meant the world to the older woman. Beca may have been tough but she was a complete softie for her wife and everyone knew it.
"Breakfast in bed?" Beca offered and Chloe laughed, still catching her breath from their lovemaking.
"You always have to eat afterward, don't you?"
"Sex makes me hungry, Mitchell. You've known that ever since we got together."
"True. Go and make me breakfast then, wife."
"Wait, why me?"
"Because you offered. Now, go on."
Beca rolled her eyes but got out of bed regardless. Five years of marriage and yet Chloe still had Beca wrapped around her finger. It was a losing battle every time Beca tried to break free of it. Giggling at the thought, Chloe grabbed her phone and texted her best friend a photo of herself with a message.
Chloe: Off to a good morning so far. ;)
Aubrey: Gross. As much as I hate to admit that you two are cute together, I still don't need to know the details of your sex life.
Chloe: Who else am I going to share it with?
Aubrey: Literally anyone else.
Chloe: You knew what you signed up for when we became friends, Bree.
Aubrey: Yes... I suppose I did...
Chloe: Oh, don't give me that. Your lips get loose when Stacie rocks your world.
Aubrey: Only because of your influence but I'm nowhere near as detailed as you are!
Chloe: It's good to know that she still keeps you satisfied and happy. :)
Aubrey: Yes, she sure does. :)
Chloe placed her phone down and sighed contently as she smelt breakfast cooking from downstairs. She took a moment to reflect on her relationship with Beca and how far they had come. From barging into her shower at college to saying, "I do" at the altar was an amazing journey that she would relive one thousand times over if she could.
"All right, bacon and eggs for my lazy wife," Beca entered the bedroom with their food.
"Oh, perfect timing, I'm starving."
"Me, too." Beca gave the redhead hers before returning to bed with her own.
The rest of the morning was just lazing about as they usually did on a Saturday but Chloe didn't want today to be spent entirely in bed. That's what Sundays were for.
"So, where are you taking me?" Chloe asked, hopping out of the shower while Beca brushed her teeth.
"Huh? Taking you?"
"Yeah, taking me. Or is that a surprise?"
Beca looked at her wife quizically. What was Chloe on about?
"Beca..." Chloe's heart began to sink. "Have you forgotten our anniversary?"
The shorter woman's face fell and she swore her heart stopped.
"A... anniversary?" Beca uttered and Chloe's gaze hardened.
"Beca!" Chloe swatted her arm. "How could you forget our anniversary?"
"Are you sure it's today?"
"Of course I'm sure! We got married five years ago today! How could I forget?"
"Chlo, I'm sorry, I didn't know!" Beca immediately hated herself after she said that.
"You didn't know?" Chloe frowned. "You didn't know when our anniversary was?"
"No, that's not what I meant. I mean, I DO know when our anniversary is."
"Well, you clearly don't know! I really can't believe you, Beca." Chloe turned on her heel, throwing her towel over the rack before storming into the bedroom and Beca had to ignore the heat between her legs at the sight of her naked wife.
"Chlo, please! Just because I forgot doesn't mean we can't do something together. Whatever you want we can do. Just name it, babe!"
"That's not the point, Beca. You've never forgotten our anniversary. Do you know how much it hurts that you have?"
Beca's heart sank so low she felt it was going to fall out of her butt. "I'm sorry, babe. Please, let me make it up to you. Please."
Chloe made the mistake of looking at her wife's eyes. They were so soft yet full of anguish. Chloe hated seeing that in Beca's eyes. Beca was too beautiful to harbour such feelings and the redhead's guilt was quick to consume her.
"What did you have in mind?" Chloe sighed.
"Whatever you want, babe. I fucked up and I want to make it right. You mean the world to me and I feel so shitty. Please?"
There was no lie in Beca's words. Chloe truly did mean everything to her and whenever she hurt Chloe, she felt utterly rotten and she wouldn't stop until she made her love feel better.
"I want to have a beach day," said Chloe.
As much as Beca loathed going to the beach, she couldn't deny it to her wife.
"Beach day it is."
The sunburn wasn't nice but Chloe's smile was worth it. Hot, cinnamon donuts and cuddles on the beach as they watched the sunset was Chloe's idea of Heaven and, in a way, it was Beca's, too. The sunburn was a blessing in disguise as Chloe quickly soothed the brunette's skin with aloe vera cream that, naturally, made one thing lead to another. By the morning, the sunburn was pretty much absent. Beca found her wife tucked into her side as she slept like a baby.
The brunette could have watched her love sleep for hours. That happened from time to time where Beca would gaze at the redhead lovingly. Chloe always looked so peaceful when she slept and Beca took that time to appreciate her beauty and relish in her privilege to be married to one such as Chloe. However, this morning was not such a morning as Beca needed to use the bathroom. Carefully peeling herself away from her wife, the younger woman strode into the ensuite. Her sunburn looked a lot better in the mirror but Beca still applied cream to it but when she did, her phone chimed, pulling her away from the mirror. It wasn't a message but instead, a notification.
Wedding Anniversary - All Day
Beca frowned. She and Chloe celebrated their anniversary yesterday, like Beca could have forgotten anyway. She then checked the date - June 14th. That was their wedding anniversary. She remembered because they didn't want to get married on the 13th, which landed on a Friday so Beca logged it in her memory for it to be the day AFTER. TODAY was their anniversary. The brunette then sported a triumphant smile. She HADN'T forgotten their anniversary but this time, it was Chloe who forgot.
"Becs?" A faint voice sounded from the bedroom. "Where'd you go?"
The woman sauntered to the ensuite door, resting upon it casually, her grin never fading.
"Good morning, wife," Beca purred.
"Mm... Good morning indeed..." Chloe eyed Beca's naked body.
"So, where are you taking me?"
"Well, I can think of a place..." The redhead's eyes never left her wife's figure as she chewed on her lip coquettishly.
"Okay, great!" Beca's tone was suddenly cheery as she walked over to her wardrobe and picked out clothes for the day, leaving Chloe utterly confused.
"What are you doing?"
"You said that you've got a place to take me. Let's go then!"
"Wha...?" Chloe sat up with a frown. "Becs, what are you on about?"
Beca bit down on her smile before turning around to Chloe, feigning offense.
"You didn't forget, did you?"
Chloe cocked her head to the side. "Forget what?"
Beca gasped. "Chloe Ann Mitchell! I can't believe you!"
"What? What did I do?" Chloe began to panic.
"Check your phone," Beca ordered.
Chloe scurried to find her phone and when she did, her face fell.
"Oh, shit..."
When she looked to Beca, the brunette's smirk was as wide as ever.
"So, I'll ask you again, Mrs. M... Where are you taking me today?"
