the officer quickly shook his head as he shillouted nervously
'Ah, Detective Skye! We're fine ma'am, nothing to report!'
"Detective...?"
Trucy looked at her a bit weridly
'Why's she wearing a lab coat?'
apollo rolled his eyes at her
'You're hardly one to comment on how people are dressed'
the woman looked down at the two, then back up at the officer and asked
'And... these kids are?'
apollo pouted, just because he was short didn't mean he was a kid?!, and trucy didn't even look that younh, the officer shrugged
'Curiosity seekers, ma'am. They claim to be "lawyers"'
'Ah. Why don't you kids run along and play someplace else?'
apollo grunted in frustration as he again tried to explain that he wasn't a child, but a grown adult, who was a lawyer
'Look, we're not--'

she threatened in a very serious tone of voice

apollo said hurriedly, not wanting anything happening to him or to trucy, the woman looked over at the officer and ordered

apollo gritted his teeth in frustration, great, now they weren't even allowed to investigate

trucy came up with an idea
'Why don't we ask that nice woman across the street?'

he shuddered and swallowed nervously at having to speak with that lady again, apollo's eyes narrowed towards the trash can, it was the one thing that he could examine without getting into trouble with the detective or officer again, so he took his chances
'There's a big trash can on the way into the park. I guess we could check it out...'
'A detective's life sure is a hard one!'
apollo rolled his eyes at her as they both went into the trash can
'I'm an attorney, actua... Huh?'
he stopped talking as soon as she saw two things, one, perfectly good green slippers, and, ...a broken car mirror
'Hmm. Two pieces of garbage with paint on them'
trucy said, as she took examined it
'These... are slippers. They look like those slippers you get at the hospital...'
'Look at this, Apollo! Doesn't this go on a car...?'
apollo nodded
'It's a side-view mirror! Looks like it was torn off when it smacked into something... or someone'
trucy gasped dramatically
'Wait, you don't think...'
he nodded
'I do. This could be from the car that hit Victim Mr Wright was talking about!'
'Wow, and he took off its mirror? I never knew the victim was so strong. I only have room in my pocket for one of these, though. Which do you want to take?'
apollo thought long and hard on this, ...his instics told him to take the mirror, so he waged his luck on that, at this point, they had no other choice, since their was nobody else to talk to, the plum lady was their best shot, apollo sighed as he held back a shudder when they went back to the lady to ask her more questions
'...Can I ask you a question?'

apollo took in a deep breathe and asked
'...What happened in the park across the street?'
'Oh, yes, quite the commotion. "Chicago Lightning", as the Boss would say'

trucy muttered

apollo gawked at her

'Did something happen at your house, too?'
she asked, plum uncapped her weapon and as she frowned
'A crime without honor! Without remorse! It's a private matter... Wanna hear about it?'
trucy whispered to apollo's ear
'Somehow I don't think "no" is an acceptable answer, Polly'
phoenix braced himself for the worst as as he asked to hear more about this
'So... what happened at your house?'
'Bloomers. Last night'

Trucy took her chances and called out for her attention politely

the woman looked over at him, just then trucy haded her a business card

the woman examined it closely as she read it out-aloud

'L-Law office's?!'
'Yeah! Do you like the new business card?, So, um, this is our defense attorney, Mr. Apollo Justice!, my daddy is also an attorney but he's taking time off'

she thought very thoughtfully, trucy smiled warmly at her
'Drop by our office! We'll be waiting!'

and with that, she walked away, apollo quickly took her aside and cried out
'Why did you give her our business card?'
she shrugged
'I dunno. She seemed like she could use some help'

trucy however, had her doubts on that
