You were currently in your Social Studies period, zoning out - from what the teacher kept talking - for what seemed like the hundredth time. You looked out the door and saw two people in reindeer head masks walk past the door through the glass panel. You blinked many times before shaking your head.
Were you dreaming or did two people with reindeer heads just walk by?
As you contemplated with this argument inside your head, you didn't realise the two people from before entering your class. You looked at your teacher to see if she was as confused as the other students in the class, but the smirk on her face said otherwise.
You could hear yells and mumbles from every side of the room, but you kept looking at the two people - who you identified as boys probably a year older than you.
Just as you wondered what they were doing here, both the boys made their way over to you and you squealed loudly as one of them grabbed your arm and pulled you out of your seat.
"Woah, woah. Let me go! No!" You protested, trying to pull your arm away from the unknown guy who was holding it. You really wanted somebody to come help you, but you hadn't seen your best friend, Choi Hyunsuk since the start of the day, so you were left alone to fend yourselves against these strangers.
You quickly turned to your teacher to seek help, but the woman shook her head, immediately causing you to stop wiggling. Don't worry, go with them, she mouthed, reassuring you that these guys weren't a bunch of psychopaths out to kill you.
"Y/N, I swear, almost every girl came with us willingly and then there's you, acting like we are trying to kill you," the boy said, taking off his mask single-handedly, while the other one held to onto you.
"Half of the girls seemed disappointed seeing their men after seeing us," the other one commented, laughing as he took off his mask.
You didn't have to even look at their faces to know them, their voices were enough hints. "Yah, Youngjae oppa?! Jackson oppa?! What in the world are you guys doing?" You whisper-yelled at them as they guided you through the quiet hallways.
Youngjae and Jackson both looked at you before looking at each other and smirking. You looked at the two and gestured them to tell you what was happening, but no one said anything.
"Jaebum-ah is going to be so pissed."
"Yeah, but knowing JB, he is gonna keep his cool until the shooting is over and then lash out at whoever the guy is."
The two talked among themselves again, and you cleared your throat, gaining their attention.
Youngjae looked over at Jackson, who nodded and then looked at you and started speaking. "So, we are shooting this new MV called, Confession Song, and we had people in this school volunteer to confess to their crushes so that we could shoot it," he said as you stared at him with your mouth hung open.
Jackson laughed before closing your mouth and continuing. "Right now, we are taking you to the gym and make you stand in front of your admirer, who will wear one of these." Jackson gestured to his reindeer mask. "And then, we will serenade you with the song and they will record it. In the end, your crush will take off his mask and will confess to you. Then, it's up to you to say yes or no."
"Oh, and remember as soon as you enter, the recording starts. And it's fine to hug Jaebum since almost everyone knows you two are siblings," Youngjae added as the three of you stood in front of the gym.
"Are you nervous, little one?" Jackson asked, patting your back while Youngjae held your hands reassuringly.
"I am not sure about this, Jackson oppa. I am kind of scared to see JB's reaction. He can get really mad sometimes," you admitted, immediately getting a flick on the forehead from Jackson.
"Yah, have you forgotten your honorifics, already?" Jackson scolded you and grabbed your hand. "And well, about being scared, it's not like I'm the one who will die, right?" He pulled you inside the gym while Youngjae laughed at the conversation you two had.
You looked around the room and saw that everything was decorated Christmas-style, probably since it was coming soon. You could see presents scattered everywhere and lights and sparkly sashes on the basketball hoop and on the benches on the sides.
The Christmas tree was the brightest thing in the room and right in front of it was, just like Jackson had told you, a guy wearing a reindeer mask, holding a box and a bouquet. Soon the other members walked out from behind the tree and you could already see the others mocking and teasing your older brother.
As soon as he saw you, he stretched his arms out wide for a hug and you gladly accepted, but you couldn't help but notice that he was glaring and shooting daggers and whoever your admirer was.
I can't do this. Somebody kill me.
The music started playing, and the boys started being playful. Your brother immediately ran up to the guy in front of the Christmas tree and punched him in the arm with a little not-too-friendly punch. You walked towards the unknown guy as Jackson pushed you from the back, mouthing the words to his rap.
"Hundreds of confessions without success. I feel so unconfident, should I just go back? I say I'll confess for sure, but it's pointless with no actions in the end. Can't keep my head up in front of you."
You noticed how the boy in front of you had his head down and you wondered if he actually had gotten rejected many times before. Nah, it's just a rap Jackson oppa came up with. It can't be true.
"I'm in love with you. Why are these words so hard? I keep hesitating to say over and over again." Jinyoung mouthed along to the song, doing weird dances to make you laugh, which you did.
"Why is it so hard just to write a simple letter? I keep writing and tearing it over and over again." Yugyeom sang, imitating the writing and tearing part as you smiled at him.
Jinyoung sang again, this time facing Yugyeom, who tried not to look shocked and went with the flow. "You may not feel the same way I do. I may never see you again, that's what I'm afraid of."
"Don't have the courage to tell you. With this song let me open my heart to you." Yugyeom sang back to his hyung and you laughed at the Romeo and Juliet scene they were giving you.
Your brother stood next to you and put on a thinking expression, while full-on judging the guy in front of you. "I love you, baby I. I love you for a very long time."
"I love you, baby I. I love you, I do." Youngjae pushed your brother away and smiled at you, making a big heart with his arms and dancing crazily, causing you to laugh again.
"All day long I wait for your reply. I keep writing and erasing to make sure there's no mistake in my words. I accidentally say things I don't mean. The dramatic lines I practiced in front of the mirror are all forgotten when I stand in front of you, flustering me. My hands hesitate in front of yours."
BamBam rapped, and you froze when he took your hand and the guy's and joined them, causing you two to hold hands. The bouquet was now in your free hand while the other held his hand.
Your heart almost skipped a beat when the guy clasped your hand and you couldn't help but a giggle escape you. BamBam gave a playful wink as he laughed and left you.
Oh, my god, Y/N! You shouldn't act like this. This admirer could be your creepy History teacher or some other old man. What are you doing? You thought as you smiled at the boys dancing around you. Yah, Hyunsuk-ah, why weren't you there in the class? You could've saved me from this mess.
Jinyoung sang, putting his arm around and smiling widely at you. "You may not feel the same way I do. I may never see you again, that's what I'm afraid of."
"Don't have the courage to tell you. With this song let me open my heart to you." Yugyeom sang his part, shoving Jinyoung away and started massaging your shoulders as if he knew you were under stress. You wiggled your shoulders, signaling him you didn't need it, and he let go quickly and cheekily smiled.
"I love you, baby I. I love you for a very long time." Jaebum, your supposedly 'elder' brother, started letting loose and dancing around the gym like a dance machine, which was quite a rare sight to see.
"I love you, baby I. I love you, I do." Youngjae gestured the other boys to come and soon enough, everyone was showing their 'true yet crazy' sides and dancing around like lunatics, but you couldn't take your eyes off the boy in front of you.
"My heart beats like a drum. My arms just wait for the day to hug you tight. My calendar just waits for the day marked red. My confession just waits for my courage. Though I am still a timid fool, I hope this song I wrote for countless nights delivers my sincerity. Take one side of the earphone in your hand. Shall we?"
Mark rapped, shaking the mask and punching the mask lightly, playing around with the guy. You kept staring at the boy and the hand that held yours repeatedly. This touch seems so familiar. You wondered who it was, but at the same time, you didn't want to know.
The hand left yours, suddenly putting you into shock as the boy's hands went to his head mask. Oh, no, no, no. I am not ready, don't do this. You looked behind the boy and saw the other boys holding 'thumbs up' and other sweet gestures which calmed you down. Within what seemed like a millisecond, the mask was off and the boy's head was hung low.
He held the gift box out and you took it slowly, not even sparing a glance at his face. I am not ready, but this has to be done. You held the bouquet and the gift on one hand while your free hand just closed and unclosed with the tension you were going through.
"Hey, Y/N-ah. Why are you looking down? Am I too ugly to look at?" You heard a familiar voice say. Your eyes went wide when you looked up to see the familiar face of your fashionista bestie, Choi Hyunsuk.
Youngjae's and Jaebum's part came on as your hand flew to your mouth, trying not to yell.
"I like you, Y/N ... wait no," he suddenly said, shaking his head. "I think I love you. Be mine?" He asked, putting down the mask and looking into your eyes with a loving gaze.
You smiled at him, nodding. Before you could even get a 'yes' out, the boys started yelling out of happiness. Jinyoung and BamBam ran around throwing confetti at you guys while Youngjae and Jackson squealed happily as they sprayed you with silly string. Yugyeom ran around with a snow-machine, covering the two of you with it.
Your brother soon came up to you and stood beside you, looking at your bestf - well, now boyfriend, Hyunsuk. "I am happy it's this idiot because if it was someone else, some shi-poop could've gone down." He censored his curse word, knowing you'd slap him if he tried swearing.
"Stay happy, Y/N and Hyunsuk."
And you two did.
