Rebecca's POV:
Loud music could be heard from the lobby as I walked, making me furrow my brows. I looked around me at the beautifully decorated hotel, seeind a diamond chandallier hanging from the ceiling, shining brightly.
I went outside the hotel, seeing the Eiffel tower across from me with many lights decorating the area around. My eyes widened in surprise when I saw multiple tables placed on the soft grass and couples walking around with their kids or by themselves. Some other couples of families were sitting already, having dinner and laughing.
A grin appeared on my lips as I stared at the happy families, feeling glad seeing everyone having a great time. A car suddenly parked and my eyes widened as I took in the expensive black Mercedes. The door opened and a charming Harry came out, his long hair hugging his gorgeous face.
He was grinning at me as he walked towards me and I couldn't help but grin back. "Hey," he took my hand in his.
"This is awesome, I didn't know they were planning such thing tonight." I said, entwining our fingers.
He chuckled. "Not they."
My jaw dropped. "Did you plan all this?" I asked shocked.
He nodded, smiling happily at me, wrinkles appearing around his pale green eyes. "Do you like it?"
I blinked, not believing Harry planned something so nice for not only me but for everyone in this city. "Are you kidding me? It's amazing! Thank you so much!" I hugged him, feeling his chest vibrating as he laughed.
"No problem, babe," he kissed my hair, his arm wrapped around my waist tightly while our hands were still entwined. "Now come on," he pulled back. "Let's have some fun." he winked.
I nodded and followed him across the street, joining all the others who have happy smiles on their faces. A band with instruments played in the center, lightening up the mood even more. Couples started dancing around, making me want to join. Harry brought us to sit on a table that's decorated in white.
I sat down and smiled, seeing there's a menu on the table. Harry sat across from me and looked around, happiness and amusement written across his features. I saw some waitors taking orders and heading inside the hotel, wich meant Harry compelled them to bring food here. The idea is not bad at all, considering everyone's having a great time here.
"So, how did you come up with the idea?" I asked, folding my hands on the table.
He shrugged. "I just wanted to make Paris more...entertaining." he replied simply.
"And you succeeded." I smiled, seeing how his green eyes lit up.
"I'm glad." he took my hand and kissed my knuckles.
Heat rose to my cheeks as I gave him a shy smile. A waitor appeared next to us and Harry let go of my hand so I could check out the menu.
"I'll go with a spaggeti." I said.
"Me too. Also bring me a red wine, the most expensive." Harry ordered and the waitor nodded before leaving.
"Wow," I chuckled. "You sounded like the president." I joked.
He laughed lightly. "I could be a good one." he said confidently.
"No doubt." I laughed.
He gave me an amused look before looking around. I found myself staring at the Eiffel tower most of the time, admiring the work the people did years ago. The band changed song into a faster one, making more couples to join the dancefloor.
"Everyone's so happy." I commented, smiling like an idiot.
"Mhmm, that's good, right?" he asked, looking at me.
"Of course it is." I nodded. "Doing good things for other people is always good, Harry."
He nodded and looked down, something unreadable flashing across his features. He was playing with his fork as I looked around, tapping my foot on the rythm. The music is a mixture of jazz and country. I loved the way some kids laughed as they did a circle on the dancefloor, seeing pure happiness on their innocent and kind faces.
The waitor's appearance made me slightly jump as he came and stood in front of me, blocking my view. He placed our plates in front of us and went to take another order. This reminded me of my job, but I have to admit, I didn't miss it the slighest.
The sound of someone taking a picture hit my ears and I moved my gaze from the dancefloor to Harry, finding him grinning at me with his phone in hands.
My eyes widened in surprise. "Did you just take a picture of me?" I asked, pointing at my face.
He laughed and nodded. "We have to give our fans some information about where we are." he winked.
"I don't have fans. I think most of the people at college hate me, if not all." I mumbled, looking down at my plate.
"Why would they hate you?" he asked, leaning closer.
I shrugged. "I'm dating you, that's why."
He started laughing, making me feel slightly annoyed. I rolled my eyes and rested my cheek in my palm as I stared down at my plate. He then sobbered up and shook his head in amusement.
"Look, I know I've got plenty of fans," he let a snort. "But none of them is as good as you."
I looked up at him to find him smiling warmly at me. I couldn't help but smile back. "Okay...if you say so," I shrugged again.
"And I bet all those girls would kill to be your friend." he said, pouring wine in our glasses.
"I don't think so. They don't give me friendly looks when I walk by. It's like I did something horrible to them and now they all hate me." I sighed at the end as I stared at the wine filling my glass.
Harry shrugged. "That's bullshit, that's all I know." he mumbled and placed the bottle of wine down. "And they don't hate, they're jealous." he stated.
I sighed and grabbed the glass in my hand. "Whatever you say." I murmured.
Harry changed the subject and started talking about the weather and what we would like to do in Paris for the rest of the week. I stood silent with a smile on my lips as I stared at him talk with such a charm and confidence. His hands moved as he talked, his eyes moving back and forth between my face and the people around, his deep voice giving me chills. I could just sit and stare at him talk forever.
"I heard it will snow tonight." he said before taking a swing from his wine.
"I would love to see that. It's worth it a picture." I said.
The place's still covered with snow, creating a magical aura. Everyone's in the Christmas spirit here and I have to say that I already love Paris. The band changed the song into something slower and I felt Harry's hand cupping mine over the table.
"C'mon," he smiled. "Time to dance." he surprised me by saying.
"Oh so we're going to dance?" I asked as I stood up.
"Yep." he nodded, his smile causing dimples to dig into his cheek.
He lead me to the dancefloor and wrapped his arm around my waist while holding my other hand. Our chests were pressed against each other and my head rested on his shoulder. We started moving on the rythm and my mind brought old memories of us dancing for the first time at that suite months ago. The familiarity of the scene made my stomach twist, but I knew that this time, nothing's the same.
So many things have changed since that night. Harry's not the same. My feelings are clear and strong. Our relationship is based on our feelings and not on our need for freedom. We both learnt from our mistakes and we try our best to keep each other safe, no matter what's the cost. Then, we would put ourselves first to survive but now, we would risk ourselves for each other's safety.
I closed my eyes for a moment, filling my nostrils with his scent. He had his head lowered so I could feel his breath against my forehead. The way we swung our hips and moved along with the rythm was calming and overwhelming.
I opened my eyes and looked up at him. My stomach turned when I found him staring down at me with a small smile playing on his lips. Those lips. I stood on my toes and pressed my lips against his, feeling my heart pounding louder at the contact. He kissed me back and his arm around my waist tightened, colliding our chests even more.
You have to tell him, Rebecca. You can do it now.
My stomach clenched nervously as the thought crossed my mind. I think I can do this. I mean, this is the right time. We're alone, having a good time and nothing seems to be able to stop me. Nervousness grew bigger in the pit of my stomach when I was about to pull back so I decided to hold the kiss for a little longer.
Come on girl, just say it. Say you love him.
I pulled back and opened my eyes the same time he did. Forest green eyes burned mine, making my insides twist with nervoussness. A smile tugged at his lips and I smiled back, trying to push back all the negative thoughts.
"Harry, I.." I started, feeling my throat tight. I swallowed hard and took a deep breath before parting my lips to speak again. "Harry I-,"
The band changed the song into something faster and louder, making my words come to a halt. Frustration and dissapointment washed through me. Harry laughed when the people around us started dancing faster and kissed my temple. His eyes looked past me, widening in excitement.
"Look! There's cotton candy! C'mon!" he urged, pulling me out of the dancefloor with him.
I laughed as I stared at him. He's so happy, like a young kid. He bought the cotton candy and came to stand in front of me again. I saw from the corner of my eye young children holding balloons too. Harry made this place heaven for everyone.
"Here," he said, handing me the candy.
I took a bite and felt the candy a little sticky but still tasty. When we were done eating it while sitting on a bench, Harry told me we should go back to our table and order dessert, not that we didn't just eat something sweet.
We both sat back down and ordered chocolate cake with strawberry and cherry syrup. Harry was taking pictures of the place while I stared at two young kids playing and laughing, their eyes full of life and excitement. I love how kids are so careless and wild.
I'm so glad Harry told me to wear something casual. I wore denim jeans with my black ankle boots, a purple sweater and my black jacket. My hair are straight, but I know it's a matter of time before they get frizzy. My make up is not too dark, because I thought that a simple outfit doesn't need dark make up.
"What are you staring at?" Harry asked curious.
"The two kids right there," I ticked my head towards them. "Look at them. They're so...happy and wild." I mumbled, shaking my head.
"So?"
"Don't you just miss the days when you were just a kid, without responsebilities and regrets?" I asked without moving my gaze from the two boys.
Harry didn't reply, but I knew he wouldn't. This subject isn't something he likes talking about and I don't blame him at all. But since he asked me, I told him what I've been thinking about. He's not forced to say anything if he doesn't want to.
The waitor appeared and gave us our desserts. The chocolate cake looked delicious. I didn't wait any longer to take the first bite and the taste of strawberry and chocolate lied on my tongue, making a low moan escape my lips.
Minutes passed and Harry and I danced and laughed most of the night, enjoying everything Harry planned. I'm so happy and proud of him. He has changed so much since the beggining and it makes my heart flutter when I see him having a smile made of pure happiness across his face.
When I felt my legs sore and my eyelashes a little bit heavier, I sat down and stared at Harry talking with two little girls. He was crouching down to be in the same eye level as them and the girls looked so flattered and shy as they stared at him. The sight of them brought warmth to my heart and I couldn't help but imagine Harry with kids.
The memory of Harry entering the kitchen where that little boy was with the girl flashed behind my eyes, making my smile fade away. It was such a cute moment, but it hurt since I wasn't part of it. Seeing Harry with another girl even though I'm capable of dying for him is ten times worse than being ignored by him.
Harry then came and stood in front of me, his eyes scanning my face. I pushed the painful memory to the back of my head and smiled up at him. He crouched down in front of me, his large hand reaching for mine.
"Tired?" he asked softly.
I nodded. "Yeah. But if you want to stay I'm okay with that, I can wait."
"No, no, no," he shook his head and stood up. "Come on, let's go back to the hotel." he suggested.
I smiled and stood up, loving the way he entwined our fingers together. He took me back inside the hotel and pressed the buttons to the elevator. When we reached our suite, I quickly changed into pajamas and brushed my teeth. Harry was watching TV when I went to crawl under the sheets.
"Aren't you coming?" I asked as I turned on my side.
He shook his head. "No. I'm not sleepy."
"Oh, okay then." I murmured and closed my eyes. "Thanks for the surprise again, Harry. It was great." I smiled at him.
He smiled back. "No problem." he said, taking his phone out from his pocket.
Slightly frowning, I spoke. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight, babe." he said without looking at me.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
