Chapter 4: Water Gun

Nandito ako sa kusina. Alas dose na ata ng gabi, uminom ako ng tubig. Hindi ko na binuksan ang ilaw dahil maliwanag naman dahil sa buwan.

Naalala ko ulit yung usapan namin ni Mama kanina.

What?!

Agad napakunot ang noo ko. Napakurap-kurap din ako. Inatake ako ng kaba. Marami rin akong tanong. Paano nya nalaman? Obvious ba ako? Kaya nya ba tinext si Zeus dahil dito? May sinabihan ba sya?

Napaparanoid na ako!

"Hey. Kalma my dear child." Sabi nya habang binubura nya ang makeup nya.

Paano ako kakalma?!

Kahit gulong-gulong na yung utak ko at may avalanche na sa loob ko, kinalma ko pa rin ang postura ko at binuksan ko ang computer ko.

"Nagjo-joke lang ako." She laughed. "Alam ko namang study first ka eh." She said and continue reading her makeup.

Kumalma ako. Mabuti naman at hindi alam ni mama. Nakakahiya yun lalo na't first time kong magkaroon ng crush.

"Pero okay rin naman if you have crush on him." Pagpapatuloy nya.

Agad akong nag-react. "Ma. Hindi no! Matanda yun sakin. Para ko na yung kuya!" Wow Beatrice! Parang kuya daw.

She maliciously looked at me. She pouted and rolled his eyes. "Why so defensive dear? I'm just saying. I'm not gonna believe if it's true, but if it's true-" I cut her lines.

"Ma!" Kamot-ulong reklamo ko.

"Chill." She answered and leaned her back on the sofa.

Nagpatuloy na ako sa paggawa ng powerpoint kahit na nababagabag ako ng mga sinabi ni mama. But what if she's just trying to act that she's clueless where in fact, she is! Agad akong nagpanic sa isip ko. Pero I still keep my composure. Well then, I'll be more alert next time. Or maybe just put a distance with him.

What if he also knows it but he just doesn't have the courage to point it out? No. He will have courage of course! Everytime he walks, he's oozing with so much confidence. He has this aura saying 'I'm handsome and rich! Bow down, you peasant.'

I stopped because I realized I'm being cringey.
Itinuon ko ang sarili ko sa pagtingin sa powerpoint and realized that I'm still on the first page. This thoughts will be the death of me.

Tiningnan ko si mama. She looks very exhausted.
"Kumain ka na 'ma?" I asked.

Tumango naman sya. "Yeah. Did you and your brother ate already?" Tanong nya habang nakapikit ang mata nya.

Tumango naman ako. "Yes po. Pati si Calix, kumain na din." I responded to her question.

"Good." She whispered.

"You should probably take a bath and rest ma. You really looked worn-out." Sabi ni Calix na ngayon ay hawak-hawak ang notebook at tumayo na. Naglakad sya papunta kay mama at niyakap ito.

"Well. I guess your right. Let's go upstairs na." She said. "Are you done with your homework already? Do you need my help?" Tanong ni Mama habang tumatayo.

Umiling ako. "Kaya ko to ma." Sagot ko.

She shrugged and held Calix's hand, pulling him to come with her upstairs.

Nang paakyat na sila, may huling ihinabilin si Mama. "Sleep after that." Then she yawned.

"Goodnight ate!" Calix said cheerfully.

I sighed. Tumayo na ako at napagdesisyonang sa kwarto na lang gagawin ang assignment. Sinarado ko na ang ilaw sa sala bago umakyat sa taas.

Pagkadating ko sa kwarto, sinimulan ko na ang pagtapos ng powerpoint. Inalis ko muna ang mga hindi kailangang isipin at nagseryoso.
