Skull-crushing guy didn't look like much at first glance, with blond wavy hair coming down to his jaw, but having seen him leave a web of cracks in a nearby window with his bare hands, it was clear that he wasn't going to be easy to take down,

"I can see you there, hun." His voice echoed around the corridor as the class shuffled into view, none of them wanting to get too close to him, "and it wouldn't do you any good to run now, Scythe, hun."

At this, Y/N stepped in front of the others, holding his icy gaze unflinchingly, "Grip."

The man smirked, flexing his hands in a way that looked like he was trying to break them, noone moved, and no one dared to mention it, but-

"Dude, what's with all the stupid 'hun's?"

'Why does he always say what we're thinking?!'

"Ah, c'mon, it's better then when I last met him, however bad this is, it can't be worse than his tap dancing phase" Y/N snickered,

"So you remember that, hun? More reason to kill you then, I like it anyway, makes me sound like a samurai, and besides, if it doesn't work out, I can just kill you all and then pretend it never happened, hun"

"Yeah, you can try to kill us, but I won't let that happen." Y/N countered, looking a lot more confident than she felt,

"Do it then, hun." The corners of Grips mouth turned up as he continued, "or are you feeling a bit..... under the weather?"

He knew. Of course he knew, Y/N was too powerful of a variable to be kept unaccounted for, taking her out of action was probably more important than taking out Karasuma, since Karasuma was still obligated to follow the law to a certain extent,

"I would kill you, but I actually promised this fight to Akabane, shame, really, I'll have to kick your ass another time." At this point Karma stepped forward, staying just out of reach,

"Sorry pal, nothing personal," out of nowhere, the redhead produced some sort of rope, and swung it towards the mans face, but Grip easily caught it,

"As far as weapons go, you're gonna need something harder kid." He increased pressure on the rope, until it completely snapped in half,

"Oh, you don't say"  it was astounding how nonchalant Karma could be amid a fight for his classmates lives, but then again, if Karma Akabane let himself crack under the pressure, he wouldn't be Karma Akabane.

The fight was quick paced, the redhead blocked and dodged all of the assassin's blows at lightning speed,

"Wow, he's dodging like an expert!" Kaede marvelled, finding it hard to follow the fight, despite her remarkable kinetic vision,

"Those are your moves, if I'm not mistaken Karasuma." Koro-sensei spoke up over the sounds of the fight, it was clear that Karasuma heard him, yet as he replied Y/N felt another wave of nausea wash over her, she leaned heavily against the wall, trying to keep her breath even, yet her vision still blurred, she barely even felt it when someone felt her forehead,

"Y/N, you're burning up!" Nagisas worried face hovered somewhere close to her, only recognisable by his blue hair, "I should tell a teacher-"

"No!" She grabbed at what she hoped was his wrist, keeping him from leaving, she pulled him back, "you can't tell anyone-"

"But-"

"I'm fine, Karma knows anyway, and whether the poison kills me or not, I'm sure as hell not gonna give up now." Her vision cleared, to show that rather that grabbing his wrist, her fingers had actually hooked around his collar, a little more aggressive than she'd intended, but it got the point across, Nagisa gulped and nodded, she released him and looked to where Karma was, and as if on cue:

"Come on, I can't pin him down all by myself, we need some rope and duct tape, and quick!"

As the rest of the class piled onto the assassin, Nagisa helped Y/N up, and they both walked over there slowly,

"Well kid, you beat me fair and square. You were a good opponent-"

"Oh, we're not done"

He produced a small bag out of nowhere, and began drawing out an impossible amount of items, Y/N turned to Nagisa,

"Ok seriously! What is up with men's pockets! I can barely fit my phone in there!" He shrugged, finding it hard to watch what Karma was doing to the poor man, yet it was impossible to turn away. Y/N grabbed the back of the redhead collar and began dragging him away like a naughty kitten, she turned back to face the rest of the class, Karma still squirming in her grasp,

"Come on, we've got less than four hours left!" As the rest of the class hurried on, with Nagisa and Koro-sensei at the front, the nausea came back, this time so bad everything seemed to stop, her vision was so blurry, yet when she tried to focus she could see at least two of everything, yet focusing gave her a headache, so she gave up on vision. The ringing in her ears was so loud she couldn't hear anything else, and by the time she hit the floor she was already out cold.

Karma didn't notice Y/N hadn't gone ahead with the group until he heard her collapse. He had hung back to see if he could get away with tormenting Grip for a little longer, yet he didn't expect to find the H/C haired assassin sprawled in the middle of the hallway. There was some blood leaking out of her mouth, and she had landed awkwardly on one of her arms

For a second there, his heart felt as if it had stopped, rushing over, he checked her pulse. It was weak, but there. She groaned lightly, and her eyes flickered open weakly

"How... how long was I out?" Her voice was so frail he was scared to touch her, lest she crumbled beneath his fingers,

"About a minute, can you walk?" She wrapped her arms around his neck and shifted into a sitting position, and then attempting to stand up, they began walking back but after about thirty seconds Karma swept his other hand behind her knees.

"As fun as it would be to drag you back to the others, this ways probably quicker." He explained, she didn't reply, just buried her face into his chest so he couldn't see how red it was.

About three minutes after he let her down slowly, allowing her to get her balance before slowly letting go. She still kept one arm around his shoulders, but walked to meet the others so naturally it looked more like she was keeping Karma from slipping away and torturing Grip even further,

"Nagisa and the girls have gone through the club to open the gate from the other side, we just need to wait for their signal." Karasuma filled her in. He seemed to have recovered from the gas, looking a lot more stable than the H/C assassin felt. She leaned against the wall trying to take steady breaths, but it was no use, it was a miracle her condition had escaped their notice for this long,

"Y/N, are you ok? You look really sick, your face is red and-"

"Shes burning up!" Maehara cut Isogai off as he felt her forehead, she swatted his hand away,

"I'm fine, it's just a...... it's just a..." The two boys rushed forward to catch her as she fell, passing her to Karma who helped her sit down as she regained consciousness.

"Again?" He nodded in answer to her question,

"What's going on?" Even looking like he was ready to drop, Karasuma was terrifying,

"Fine.... you really wanna know? Chances are Smog managed to poison me too. I've run into him before. He has bad blood with the union, but he's against killing kids. Even if his employer asked him, I don't think he'd ever give a lethal dose. Even to assassins. Even to me."

"So you were poisoned too!? Y/N why didn't you tell us! You could've stayed with Okuda and Takebayashi to bring your fever down!" She held Maeharas gaze without a hint of regret for her actions,

"Tch. Isn't it obvious why she didn't tell us?" All attention turned to Terasuka, who in all honesty wasn't looking too good himself, "it's because, even after months of working with us, and saving each others skins, she still doesn't trust us."

What remained of the E class turned to Y/N, they expected her to deny it, to say she came along for some other reason, to give an explanation- any explanation.

But none came. Y/N stayed silent, and before long it became apparent that she had passed out again.
