As per usual, Y/N arrived fashionable late, meaning she arrived at the very end, in the middle of the pole toppling match. Entering at the back of the crown, Y/N couldn't see, so she clambered on top of some of the poles near the back of the bleachers, and crouched on the top of a small pillar like a small, grumpy, undignified gargoyle. A couple of parents stared, but once she and the school mascot got into a staring contest they backed off.

The match finished and she jumped down, running to the star of the match and ruffling his white hair like a proud older sister,

"Damn itona" she grinned as the boy tried to squirm away, "didn't know you could fucking fly"

Itona was rescued as Karma snagged the assassins waist, pulling her into a hug from behind,

"Nevermind that, where have you been all day?" He murmered into her ear. Twisting around in his grasp the two began to talk in soft, low voices, cute but absolutely disgusting to people like Corey, who had the unfortunate luck of arriving at that very moment,

"I drag myself up half a fucking mountain, facing HUNDREDS of stairs to this shit?" Corey looked like he would rather be hit by another truck than witness this absolute train wreck, but he managed to keep himself fromm wheeling into oncoming traffic

Unperturbed, Y/N twisted round again, keeping a hand on Karmas belt in case he decided to run off,

"Feel free to pour bleach in your eyes any time, now why are you here?"

"The principal wanted me here" instead of tapping his foot, Corey played with the wheels on his chair, obviously agitated as he rocked himself back and forth, "apparently his son has suspicions about the real reason you came to this school

She snorted at this, "Well it took him long enough, let's go then" disentangling herself from her boyfriend much to Corey's relief, and steering Corey's chair for him to give his hands a break

Asano was already in deep shit. He knew that when he entered the room. His father's rage was unlike any other, it was suffocating, and cold, not like Akabane's, or even that weird L/N kid. His father was altogether far more terifying. The silence weighed heavy on the room until he realised that this time, his father wasn't alone.

"Well, class president? You wanted to talk to me about the 3-E student, I thought it was only fitting she be here for it"

Behind him was a blond boy in a wheelchair, sitting still enough to be mistaken for a corpse, his skin waxy and his eyes dead, staring through Asano, like a haunted doll, and behind his father, was the girl.

She somehow sat casually, as if the atmosphere in the room didn't demand professionalism, as if the very air pressed down on you, straightened your spine like bugs crawled all over it, like you were on display before god, and satan, and whatever deity cared enough to look but not to save you from the walking, talking, sentient monster that was his father. She perched on the windowsill spinning the basketball his father always kept by him.

Upon his arrival she looked at him, dead eyes like the boy in the wheelchair, but a cheerful expression, leaving him with no doubt she knew what he knew. But now that he knew that she knew what he knew, he was even more sure of what she was.

"The girl behind you is a murderer, father."

A laugh, now. The corpse boy snorted as he made eye contact, "Well done"

"She kills, that's- that's why she's here, to kill!"

No reaction. his father stood still, facing away from him, surveying the school through the window,

"Are you not willing to kill to get what you want, Gakashuu?"

His father had asked him many loaded questions, but for this one the answer was obvious,

"Of course I am fa- principal." A lie. He would do many things for success, but to kill was to go too far. He didn't need to kill to destroy E class. He didn't need to kill to earn his father's respect.

"Then what is your issue?"

"She entered E class, and since then they've gotten ideas, father- you saw it! How they dared to disgrace their betters-"

"Gakashuu"

He was cut off before he could finish, a cold glint in his father's eyes, "the only thing I saw down there was a group of students losing to a team of pathetic ants"

His face burned with shame as he looked to the floor- how could he be put in this position? It wasn't his fault! Did his father really despise him so much, he would take the side of E class against him? It wasn't fair! None of this was!

"I'd advise against burning your bridges to readily Principal Asano" the basketball came flying at his father's face, however he readily caught it, looking back at the silhouette of a girl behind him,

Her. As if everything else wasn't enough, now she dared to mock him, acting like he needed her help against his own father!? She caught his eye, but her facial expression never strayed from cold neutrality,

"I am not on your side. Nor am I on your son's. Keep that in mind before you involve either of us in your family drama. Our presence at this school comes at a price, and if you dislike our terms so much, perhaps the mission would benefit from a more... lenient location."

"Do not threaten me with things outside of your control Y/N. You do not have the power to make good on your threats"

The basketball came flying back at her, with enough force to break a window, but she didn't even flinch. She caught it, spun it around her finger, and launched it past the principal, past Gakashuu, going so quickly he could feel a burn from where the ball had grazed his neck, and felt a sudden chill from the displaced air. Behind him, he saw corpse boy had readily caught it, spinning it around on his nose like a circus dolphin,

"You can think that all you like" dolphin-corpse boy said, "but you know as well as we do that with what is at stake," with a nudge of his nose, the ball fell onto the floor, and slowly rolled to Gakashuu's feet, the noise cutting through a silence so dense he could barely breathe, the boy continued,

"The government will gladly pick us over you"

Y/N hopped off the desk, kicking the basketball for good measure as she flicked on the lights, ruining the atmosphere,

"That's better, it was getting a little goomy in here" she grinned, and if Asano didn't know better, he would honestly confuse her for a student,

"Tread lightly" the blond boy warned, Asano still had yet to catch his name, but he was certainly one to watch, and would become useful if the need ever arose,

"Hey, hot wheels, you coming or not? I already called the lift"

Another spell broken. Hot wheels chased after Y/N so fast he skidded around the corner.

All that was left was Gakashuu and his father, alone.

Honestly, he would have preferred the assassins.

A/N ok, I have been gone for a VERY long time. Sorry, got diagnosed with a load of fun mental illnesses, changed my gender and names a ton, had to take school exams, and genuinely forgot I was writing a fanfiction. Being honest, I haven't watched AC for a while, so this chapter probably felt a little clunky. also special thanks to karma25akabane, literally the only reason I managed to get this chapter out. I'm not going to manage regular updates, so ill probably just be updating out of the blue, but I am finishing this story.
