"The day before we came to New York... it was a complete mistake…" "Holy shit!" they say in unison again. "You guys are freaking me out." I tell them scrunching up my nose. "So what am I supposed to do? I feel awful." "You want the truth?" Sylvana asks using her serious voice. "I think so." "Maybe... maybe you should go home for a while." she sighs. "What babe no she can-" "Look I don't want you to leave I just think maybe it would be good for you, I know how worried you are about your mom and you can vlog from here right?"
Vana was right I didn't have to stay in LA, it would be easier for everyone if I left. Michael and Luke could go back to friends and I would be forgotten. "She's right I-I should go." I agree pulling out your phone. "What are you doing?" Ashton asks leaning over my shoulder. "Booking a one way flight home." "What!" they say again in sync for the third time.
I roll my eyes and keep typing. "I didn't mean forever Skyler!" "You can't leave we need you!" "No you don't!" I snap. "You don't ok I'm leaving forever and that's final." I stand up and storm out of the room.
I book a last minute flight from New York to Australia that leaves in about six hours. It was a last minute flight so it was crazy expensive but I didn't really care, I just needed to leave. When I go back to my room, luckily no one's there so I blast American Idiot and pack my things singing along.
"Don't wanna be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new mania
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind fuck America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue."
Suddenly I realize I'm an American idiot and turn the song off out of spite. Then I walk to Nalum's room and knock on the door but by the noises inside I can tell they're preoccupied and the metres running. So I figure I'll face Nat's wrath later and just head downstairs.
As I climb into the taxi it begins to rain and I swear I'm in some sort of cheesy movie... the only thing that's missing is Luke running up to me at the airport, but considering he didn't know I was leaving I doubt that'll actually happen. I watch the rain roll down the window and my phone buzzes in my pocket I see it's from Sylvana and I ignore the call instead deciding to call my mom. She answers on the 7th ring. "Hello Sky, what's up?" "Mom I'm coming home."
Natalie's POV
I hear a banging on the door as I sigh, chucking Calum's plaid shirt over my shoulders as I look through the little peep hole to see Sylvana, a worried expression on her face. I open the door, and she looks over and says "Oh hey Nat."
"Hey Vana!" I say, letting her in as she comes in, biting her lip as I shut the door behind her. "What's up? You look a little worried." I say poking at her cheek, the side where often when she smiled she would reveal her one dimple. "You haven't seen Sky have you?" she asks and I shake my head.
"I've been doing homework so far. I knew the boys went out for some interviews so I figured I could do that Philosophy in peace. Why can you not find her?" I say as I sit on the edge of the bed. Sylvana shakes her head as she sits down in the loveseat. She obviously is hiding something and I then say "Sylvana do you have any clue where Sky MIGHT be?"
