Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 23

Skyler's POV

"Oh hai!" I wave from the pool jumping off of Luke's swimming tube, and swimming over to the ledge.  "Hey" Natalie and Calum wave setting there stuff at the edge of the pool.  Sylvana and Ashton where currently sitting with only their feet dangling in the water.  

Nat dips her toe in then squeals "It's fucking cold!"  I gasp"Nat language!" "Sorry mom." she rolls her eyes and Calum laughs doing a dive into the which draws her attention away from me. 

Luke wraps his arms around my waist and rests his head on my shoulder rocking us both in the water.  I chuckle holding onto his hands. God I am so lucky he puts up with me. 

"You two are adorable." Sylvana says completely sincere, Nat, Ash, and Cal laugh. "Shut up!" we tell them in sync, which only makes them laugh harder. 

"You'll get use to it, soon you'll find it completely disgusting." Ashton assures her.  "Hemmings are we disgusting?" I pout.  "I don't think we are Andrews." he smirks pecking me on the lips. They all groan.  "Ok, I see your point." Sylvana laughs bumping shoulders with Ashton.  Oh they totally like each other! 

"Are you guys going to come in or what?" Calum asks hitting his hands down into the waves. "Alright, alright." Sylvana smiles pulling off her shawl.  Ashton's jaw drops and he leans over, loosing his balance and falling into the pool. This is even better then what we had expected! 

"Oh my god!" Sylvana gasps jumping in after him, we all watch more amused then anything. "Are you ok?" she laughs as they reach the shallow end of the pool.  "Yeah, yeah I'm fine." he grins splashing her. 

She giggles retaliating.  "My hair!" I yell when some of the water hits me.  I try to hit Ash but I accidentally splash Luke which half flattens out his quiff. "You're going to get it now!" he tells me throwing me over his shoulder and dropping me into the water. I grab his leg and pull him in with me, when we both get out footing again, Natalie has gotten into the water and is currently using Cal as a human shield. We all laugh as a full out battle begins. 

"There are no winners!" Michael yells from the balcony throwing towels down at us.  "You're all just wet!" "I'm pretty sure we won." I reply grabbing one and drying myself before wrapping the towel around my shoulders.

"No way Ash and I won!" Sylvana argues.  "I'm pretty sure Nat and I did!" Calum chimes in.  "Rematch?" I question.  "Like I said no winners!" Michael repeats shutting the balcony glass door. We all flip him off. 

I change into a pair of sweat pants and Luke's old smiley face shirt, and pull my damp hair up in a messy high bun.  I sit on the couch with a cup of coffee.  "It was really nice to see you." I hear Ashton say, I look around trying to find out where his voice was coming from.

"You too." Sylvana replies.  I turn around realizing that they were standing behind me at the door.  I turn around only lifting my eyes above the couch hoping the wouldn't see me. "I think my friends might love you." he chuckles touching his hair. 

"What are you staring at?" Luke whispers in my ear making me jump "Jesus! You scared me!" I whisper I pull him down beside me showing him what I was watching. "You have pretty awesome friends." she smiles. Ashton looks down at his feet. "Kiss" I whisper "They're alright…." Ash jokes because obviously he thinks we're the best. 

"I've never seen Ash so flustered, he's such a dork!" he snorts.  I gasp covering his mouth with my hand.  He goes wide eyes and does the same to me and we duck behind the couch just before they look over.
