Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 21

Skyler's POV

Luke takes me to the Santa Monica pier.  "This is so pretty." I smile grabbing his hand.  "It's even better when they turn on the lights." "How could it get better?" I ask as we enter the carnival park, Luke laughs "What?" "Nothing." "What? Tell me!" "You're cute." I pout.  "I am not cute"! Luke laughs again "You're adorable." "And you're cheesy!" I reply "Well then I guess that makes a us a perfect mach?" I roll my eyes a grin plastered on my face. 

"Can we go on the scrambler?" "Sure" he says quickly.  I squeal pulling him towards the ticket booth. We buy two tickets for the ride and thankfully because it's a week day there's really not that much of a line, a man sporting a red vest takes out tickets and motions for us to find a seat "This ride looks lame" Luke comments sliding over in the seat "You look lame." I counter making Luke roll his eyes.  "That doesn't make sense." "You don't make sense." The same guy comes over us and clicks out bar into position. 

"Here we go" I smile as the ride begins to spin around making us slam into each other, Luke squeals which makes me laugh so hard my side hurts. By the end of the ride we're both clutching onto each other nervously. "I'm dizzy" Luke states standing up.  "Me too" I laugh we continue to clutch onto each other wobbling to the ice cream stand, we both order vanilla chocolate chip and eat it over the topic of why flying cars don't exist and how you make ice cream. 

"Limited offer hit three balloons with these three darts and win a giant panda!" An announcer yells Luke perks up trying to find where the offer had come from.  "What are you thinking?" I ask him my mouth filled with ice cream.  "Sky have we ever played darts?" he asked me.  "No I don't think we have…." "Niall taught me on tour." "From 1D?" "Yeah, anyway I'm actually pretty good." "Luke three balloons with three darts seem pretty difficult." I warn him unable to imagine my boyfriend playing darts with Niall Horan.

"We'll see" he smirks finally spotting the stand, we run over to it and Luke pays the woman sitting at the booth.  "Ready?" he asks me lifting his eyebrows I nod honestly confused by the whole situation.  "One." Luke says confidently throwing a dart, hitting a green balloon in the right corner he pecks my lips. 

"Two" He smiles hitting another one and kissing me again.  "Three." he smiles the sound of the pink balloon popping ringing in my ears as he connects our lips. "Shit" I whisper pulling away "You're good" Luke wiggles his eyebrows at me and my jaw drops.  

"I meant at darts!" I defend shoving his shoulder.  "Sure you did hun." the woman says passing Luke a giant panda.  "For you" he tells me handing it to me "Thank you!" I respond fondly kissing his cheek. We see a snap go off followed by screams and sound of running Luke groans turning to the group of girls who had just taken a photo. I gasp. 

"Hey, kid you famous?" the woman in the booth asks.  "No." "Then why'd they take your picture?" "Maybe they're starting a petition against PDA?" Luke laughs but the joke seems to go over the ladies head.  "It was nice to meet you" I tell her as we walk away. 

"Honey I'm home!" I yell walking into the bat cave.  "What up bitches?" Calum screams  "Oh my god, who gave Cal alcohol?" "It was only a little?" Natalie says.  "Natalie!" I grin "What are you talking about babe I'm completely sober!" he slurs wrapping an arm around both me and Luke. 

"Babe?" I mouth looking at Natalie who shoots me the not-now look "I'm assuming he's a light weight then" Luke nods in response.  "He's going to be so annoying tonight." he sighs.

"He should sleep in our room!" I urge and Natalie's eyes nearly pop out of her head.  "Excuse me?" "I'll stay in Calum and Luke's room and he'll sleep in ours, this is your fault after all." I remind her "It really wasn't that much, we were just playing the vampire diaries drinking game and-" "Enough said." I stop her remembering several sleep overs where Nat and I would drink every time Damon and Stephan appeared shirtless.  I'm surprised she had gotten Cal to go along with it, he must really like her. "Are you guys gonna have sex?" Calum asks suddenly making my face turn pale.  "I mean you've been dating for like almost two years and you guys haven't yunno….." Calum says moving his hips around in what I assume is a pelvic thrust.
