Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 7

Skyler's POV

"Thanks for dinner" I wave Luke walking me out of the Hemmings' household "see you soon dear" I smile Luke wrapping an arm around my waist "I'll walk you home" he says "your parents are so cute" I giggle the cool wind hitting my bare arms 

"They are so embarrassing!" he confesses "I think it's adorable how much they love each other... and you" Luke smiles and we walk in comfortable silence up to my door. "Today was fun" I smirk biting my bottom lip "yeah?" "yeah" he whispers pulling me into a kiss, I smile into it wrapping my arms around his neck. 

He grabs my waist just as his phone goes off making us break apart. I he looks at me apologetically and I let out a breathless giggle as he pulls his phone out of his pocket. "Hello?" He answers running his hands through his hair 

"Michael for the last time Ashton's right you keep butter in the fridge," I cover my hand with my mouth to muffle my laughter "huh, no I'm with her now... of course.. I'll tell her ok see you tomorrow" he replies hanging up the phone "sorry about that" he blushes "don't be silly" "so we have some things we want to talk to you girls about are you guys free tomorrow" I snort "of course" Luke grins widely his one dimple prominent "perfect" he replies kissing my cheek "I'll text you" he calls jogging back down the road. I watch him until I just see a silhouette I sigh doing an small dance on my porch. 

"Hey mom" I call throwing my purse onto the love seat in the living room "hey sweetie, where you just with Luke?" "yup" I sigh in a daze she chuckles grabbing orange juice out of the fridge "alright, then Natalie's in your room" 

"wait what?" I ask snapping out of my daze Mom shrugs walking back into her bedroom. I run up the stairs opening the door to my bedroom revealing Natalie stretched out on my bed staring at the ceiling "why is everything so confusing" she whines grabbing a pillow off my bed and screaming into it, I sigh sitting down next to her 

"what's wrong? and how did you get into my house?" Natalie scrambles to stand up beginning to pace "I don't know what's wrong with me…..Calum he keeps denying that we're going out and of course I mean I get it we've been secretly dating for over a  year now and I don't know I guess I'm just starting to feel cheep like our relationship isn't as important anymore and I don't know how to fix it or how to begin to fix it and I really want to because I I might l-" Natalie gasps covering her mouth with her hands 

"alright alright breath" I caution plating my hands firmly on her shoulders and sitting her back down on the couch Natalie sucks in a breath. "Nat, just talk to him" I urge "You know he doesn't want to hurt you" Natalie lays back on the bed again "cuddle" I smile imitating Calum's voice Natalie chuckles opening her arms. 

"Natalie stop mopping and get your ass down here we're suppose to meet them in 10 minutes!" I yell from the door "I don't feel well" "bullshit, get down here!" I reply opening the door. Natalie trudges down the stairs wearing black high waited jeans and a top I assume is Calum's, "let's go" she sighs dramatically walking through the door. 

"So where are we going?" Natalie claps starting up her car "Not exactly sure, let me check" I respond pulling out my phone, I go to Luke's texts and pull up the address. "It's some type of fancy burger place I think" I tell Natalie as I type it into here GPS system. 

"Why do they want to meet here?" "No idea" I respond suddenly nervous. My phone vibrates and I tuck some hair behind my ear picking it up "Hello" "Hey babe" "oh hey we're on our way" I assure him looking over to Natalie 

"alright well I just wanted to warn you there's some fans outside" "oh ok" "I miss you" "I'm literally going to see you in like 5 minutes" "I know" he giggles "bye Luke" I smile hanging up the phone. "I remember when Calum use to do that" I roll my eyes slapping her arm "Ow! I'm driving" "well stop making me want to hit you!" Natalie smirks turning up the music in the car.
