Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 31

Skyler's POV

"Hello everybody! Today is a very special day! Why is that you may ask, no the answer is not because I remembered to shave my legs this morning although….." I lift my leg up to view of the camera and stroke it. 

"Smooth," I sigh. "Sorry, sorry I most definently over share on this channel sometimes... anyway today is a special day for two reasons!  Number one Natalie, my bestest friend in the whole world promised to bake cookies with me, and reason number two the lovely band 5 Seconds Of Summer will be performing live tonight!" I cheer walking over to the kitchen.

"So Natalie say hi to the people!" I say in an American accent. "Hello people!".  She waves already pulling out the ingredients and placing them on the counter. "So Natalie have you made chocolate chip cookies before?" Natalie smiles, nodding as I follow her over to the sink. 

"I'm surprised you wanted to help, you usually just sit over there and scroll tumblr," she says.  I laugh the camera shaking.  "Guilty," I admit turning the camera back towards me. "The things I do for you guys." "Alright step one is wash your hands." "Vana!" I call up the stairs, she comes running down the stairs seconds later but when I turn the camera to face her she squeals ducking behind the counter.

"Oh please tell me you're not camera shy!" Natalie smirks pulling out the bowl and putting the dry ingredients into it. "Shut up!" Sylvana whines from behind the counter. "I don't see how that's going to work considering you bo-" Nat pauses. "Your best friend just started vlogging" I point the camera back at the ingredients and mouth nice save to Natalie with a wink she rolls her eyes flipping me off and I turn the camera on her just in time to catch it. 

"She's just jealous cause Vana admitted she likes me better!" "I like you both equally," Sylvana says. "Bullshit!" Nat and I both say in sync. "Alright now for the wet ingredients," Natalie announces wiping her hands. "Don't you mean moist?" I joke and Natalie cringes. "No! She most absolutely did not!" "You know what just for that you lost your egg cracking privileges," Natalie says. "It's because I'm seventeen isn't it?" "Have you even done anything Sky?" Sylvana asks and I turn the camera on her.

She attempts to cover her face but fails and I snort, "Sylvana will you help me?" Natalie asks.  Sylv nods and walks over to her beginning to mix the cookie batter in the bowl. "Ladies and gents it is now time for an intermission!" I announce standing next to Natalie. "Woah oh woah oh mix, mix, the cookie dough!" I sing to the tune of some Katy Perry song. "Join in ladies!" I encourage. "Woah of woah oh mix, mix the cookie dough!" Nat sings in response I cheer. "Yes, Nat sing it!  Vana your turn!" "That is not a song!" Sylvana points out.  "Woah, get a camera out and Sylvana gets sassy." She stops mixing and glares at me, Natalie slaps my arm. 

"Ow what was that for?" "Stop distracting her!" "Do you see how mean my friends are why do I put up with them?" I joke. "Cause you love us," Michael responds walking to the kitchen and stealing a taste of the batter. "Mikey!" I grin throwing an arm around him. "Have you come to bake?" I question. "Not exactly…." he smirks. "NOW!" he shouts as  Luke, Cal, and Ashton come running into the kitchen with mini marshmallow shooters.  We all scream and try to take cover but it's too late and we're already getting pelted with marshmallows. 

"Say ello to my little friend!" "One, got in my ear!" Sylvana squealed "Girls we must fight back!" Natalie tells us grabbing something from the counter and hiding it behind her back.  "We're under attack," I whisper to the camera after the fact three of us getting cornered. 

"You leave us no choice…." Natalie sighs. "Say ello to OUR little friend," I grin as Natalie throws flour on them. The whole kitchen becomes covered in a cloud of powder and I cough.  Michael makes a spluttering sound with his mouth and I can't help but laugh.  I wipe my camera screen of with the end of my t-shirt and start laughing hysterically.
