Chapter 40

Skyler's POV

I stretch with an ache in my back from sleeping on the couch, but it was worth it, because I was about to meet the Tyler Oakley and a couple other insanely popular Youtubers for lunch. I jump out of bed excited and rummage through my suitcase for something to wear.

"Morning!" Luke grins yawning, his hair a mess. "Hey…" I say off handedly continuing to search. Michael snores loudly and I chuckle. "Shit," Luke comments. I roll my eyes tucking a piece of hair behind my ear and pulling out a white knitted sweater and Luke begins to head for the bathroom. 

"I call the shower!" I shout standing up. "What? Oh come on you're looking through your bag and I have an interview today!" Luke argues crossing his arms. "Well I have a brunch that could change my life!" I say dramatically not budging. "We could always shower together…?" Luke jokes wiggling his eyebrows, and I glare at him as Michael snores again.  

We both break out laughing. "Shh..." I tell him turning to see if Michael had woken, his mouth was hanging open but other then that he hadn't moved. I sigh thankfully then walk into the bathroom blocking out Luke's protests as I shut the bathroom door behind me. 

"Now turn..." Nat instructs me leaning into Calum as she accessorizes my outfit of black skinnies and a white v neck. "Hmm…" she hums looking at Calum. "It's just not quite right!" she sighs. "Nat this is the sixth outfit and I need to leave in twenty minutes," I tell her looking at the clock. "Fine, fine you look good just pair your combats boots with it." "I literally don't think I have any other shoes." I inform her Calum laughs. "Hey Cal did you know my followers are in love with Nat?" I ask remembering scrolling through all the comments requesting her singing a cover on my channel. "What? Why?" he asks I lean closer into the wall mirror touching up my lipstick. "They all love her voice... her singing voice that is." Natalie rolls her eyes flipping me off and I stick my tongue out at her. 

"Nat that's insane!" Calum grins fondly kissing her, they continue to kiss, Natalie grabbing for Calum's neck. "Uh guys?" I shout making Nat jump pulling away Cal pouts. "Don't you have a brunch to go to?" "Alright, alright I'm going!" I shout walking quickly out of that room. But as soon as I enter the hallway Sylvana and Ash have their tongues down each others throats. 

"Oh my god!" I groan covering my eyes, Ashton waves his arm at me. "Alright, alright I'm going!" I say defensively unlocking my door. "Michael, I get it now…." I say disturbed slamming the door behind me then I grab my purse of the couch and head back for the door. 

"Wait, who's driving you?" Luke asks running a comb through his damp hair. "Uh... myself?" "Yeah that's not happening." he says snatching the keys from my hand. "Ok fine I'll take a cab!" I pout walking out the door. 

I use my phone map to location the restaurant which had a line out the door, my phone vibrates and it's another DM from saying turn around. When I do, I come face to face with Tyler Oakley, Connor Franta, and a girl I didn't recognize. They waved at me and I grinned walking up to them. "Sorry, I'm late," I lie knowing that I had strategically planned I get there eight minutes later then I was supposed to. "Don't be silly, it's so good to finally meet you!" Tyler says hugging me, I make a surprised sound at how friendly he is. "Now I hope you're hungry cause mama can eat" he grins passing me a menu. "Thanks," I say quietly biting my lip. 

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Connor, this is our friend Nicki."  I wave awkwardly at them both opening the menu. "You know what? This line is going to take forever why don't we hit up the food truck around the corner?" Connor suggests and Tyler shuts his menu loudly. "Slay! Let's go!" 

Nicki chuckles, trailing behind them as they start to walk off. "So what brings you guys to New York?" I ask feeling less nervous. "Oh you know, promo, broadway!" Tyler jokes leaning into Connor, he smiles rolling his eyes. "How about you?" Connor asks. "Oh uh, me and the girls have been planning this trip for months we've never been here before and the boys had a ton of promo to do before their first single drops so we thought now would be the perfect time." I explain.
