Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 39

Skyler's POV

Apparently, I was supposed to room with Sylvana and Luke, Michael, and Ashton were supposed to share the largest room but somehow as soon as we got to the hotel Ash and Vana ran off to do unspeakable things to each other and left me alone with Luke and Michael. 

Michael still wouldn't meet my gaze and it was starting to drive me insane. Luke swiped the key card and opened the door revealing the biggest hotel room I'd even seen. "Woah…." I grin taking a look around I bite my lip noticing the two queen sized beds "Right?" Luke grins setting his bags down and jumping on the bed. "This is insane." "Totally, don't you think Mikey?" Luke asks Michael looks up for his phone and shrugs, Luke sighs. "Dude, what the fuck is wrong with you?" Michael finally meets my eyes and I feel nauseas. "I'm going to go see how Nat and Cal are settling in." I decide standing up and rushing quickly out of the room. 

When I get back into my hotel room the shower is running and I know it's Luke, I see Michael with his gaming head set on plugged into the new PC he bought and I clench my fists together walking towards him. I sit on the bed next to him and he looks over I smile at him pleadingly.  Michael clicks the esc button and pulls his headphone off. 

"Hey," he says casually I punch his arm. "Uh... ow?" he whines rubbing his shoulder. "Stop acting so weird!" I whisper. "I don't know what you're talking about." he replies and I roll my eyes about to punch his arm again but he catches my hand in his own. I stare at him trying to figure out how he was feeling. 

"You two look cozy," Luke jokes making me jump and disconnect our hands I turn and notice he's only wearing a pair of sweat pants. Michael snorts. "Ok." he says putting his head set back on. "So he's in a mood." Luke comments gesturing at Michael and I chuckle running a hand through my hair. 

"It's too bad, I had this whole list of things I thought we could do today." "What about the others?" "They planned some type of double date thing." I groan. "I mean we can still go look around?" Luke offers quietly and I smile nodding.

"Who's up for an adventure?" I ask quoting "Journey to The Centre Of The Earth 2" and slipping my shoes on easily as Luke laughs. "Seriously Sky? Two months since we saw that movie and you're still quoting it?" "Yup!" I smile standing up and walking towards the door and Luke opens the door for me. "Bye Mikey!" he calls. 

"Is it just me or is it fucking cold?" I ask shivering, Luke laughs unzipping his sweater. "LA weather has spoiled you." he states. "It's actually pretty warm," he continues handing me his sweater, I stare at it. "Are you going to take it?" he asks snapping me out of my trance. "Right." I blush grabbing the sweater and putting it on. "Thanks."  

He nods shoving his hands in his ridiculously tight jean pockets. "So what's the plan?" "Um..." Luke hums looking around. "Ice cream?" I nod ecstatically and he grabs my hand pulling me into an ice cream shop. "How you doing babe, what can I get for you and this fine gentlemen?" The store is basically empty except for the old man at the cash register. 

I approach the freezer and look down at all my choices. "Chocolate chip please?" I ask, Luke snorts and I look over at him. "What?" I glare. "y|You are so predictable!" "Excuse me?" "All I'm saying is we're in New York and you decide to get chocolate chip?" he smirks at me. 

"Fine, we will take one scoop of every flavour!" I decide the old man looks confused for a second, then smiles at us flashing his yellow teeth "Coming up!" he sings, and I turn to Luke who's mouth is hanging open. "My treat." I assure him patting his arm. We get the man to help us carry all the ice cream to our table outside, it looks like there's about 20 flavours. "Oh my god!" Luke laughs eyeing all of them. "What? Not enough?" I joke raising an eyebrow and taking a bit out of one that has a carmel swirl through it. "You're insane." he states, I shrug taking a bit out of one that smells like coffee. "Cheers ma dear!" I say holding my spoon out he meets it half way before we both start digging into the ice cream.
