Skyler's POV
All of us were gathered in the living room a couple days after the Natalie's visit and we all sat in silent for a moment. "Why the hell are we all down here?" Calum asked and I sighed.
"I am so sick of all fighting. Like really, really, sick of it, 100% done!" I say drawing and invisible line with my hands. "It hasn't been that bad" Calum says strangely calm.
"Calum, there have been so many fights these past couple of weeks I think my brain is going to explode," I dead pan. "I'm with Sky on this one," Luke agrees stepping next to me. Calum snorts, "Shocker." I glare at him "Calum don't be like that you know she's right," Ashton agrees sternly. "This needs to stop," Michael agrees.
"What is this? An intervention?" Cal asks crossing his arms. "No it's a reality check," Ashton replies. "This isn't just affecting you, it's affecting the band. Maybe Natalie's not the girl so what? You can't let this ruin the rest of your life you're 18 for God sakes!" he continues, and I nod slightly.
"You guys keep asking me why I wont ask out Sylvana." We all look at each other. "This is why! All the fights and the heartbreak. The last thing we need right now is to let girls... no offence Skyler... ruin our chance at the one thing we've always wanted! Get your head out of your fucking ass man," he finishes calmly.
My jaw drops but Cal bites his lip and nods slightly. "Fuck you," he says before turning and walking up the stairs. I groan tugging my hair. Ashton looks hurt and his hands are shaking slightly. "I love you guys, but I think I need some space," I tell them grabbing the keys off the coffee table. "And Ashton, please don't let THAT ASSHOLE make you miss your chance with a really awesome girl," I say slamming the front door shut.
I drive to the park blasting the radio, before going to sit down on the swing set. I can see a couple people playing basketball in the distance as the sun's just about to go down.
I sit on the swing and plant my feet in the sand moving it slightly while I pull out my phone. I never thought things would get this complicated, God I am so stupid! I'm sure in some sick cosmic way this is all my fault. Things would've been perfect. I pull my phone out and click on Instagram scrolling through my feed before snapping and posting a pic of the single swing. It has over 3000 like in two minutes.
I stay on the swing for over an hour before a basketball rolls up and hits my feet. I bend down and pick it up looking for the owner. I hear a feminine laugh and I turn towards her. "It's over here boys!" she calls, she looked about my age with long red hair. "Sorry about that," she apologizes taking the ball from me. "I told Drake his shot wasn't going to work," she explains.
I offer her a smile and she grins running back to the court. I bite my lip getting of the swing and lying down on the patch of grass, I stare at the stars. There was one directly above me that seemed to shine brighter then the others and it was flashing. I guess that's what they meant by twinkling lights.
The cool air felt good on my bare arms and I take a couple more calming breaths. I feel my phone vibrate and check the caller ID it's Luke, I drop the phone in the grass and don't answer continue to look at the stars.
"Whoa, I never meant to brag.
But I got him where I want him now.
Whoa, it was never my intention to brag
To steal it all away from you now."
I sing, along with Haley Williams tapping on my steering wheel as I drive back home.
"But God does it feel so good,
