"Mmh!" I groaned underneath my breath, feeling the sharp pain in my abdomen area. I guided my hand down to my flatten stomach and rubbed it in a circular motion.
My period is coming on, I thought to myself. I usually had uncontrollable cramps a few days before my cycle started so I instantly pinned this pain belonging to mother nature.

Because I was stuck in this History class for the next fifteen minutes, I decided to not interrupt the lecture and take a small bathroom break after the class was over. I wiggled my legs as I endured the intense cramps and soon as the bell rang, I grabbed my belongings and headed for the exit.

It didn't take long to arrive to the ladies' restroom, and thankfully it wasn't piled with girls just staring at themselves in the mirror. I placed tissue on the seat and pulled down my pants and undies to check for any blood. Surprisingly, there wasn't any.

"Bey!" I heard, breaking me away from my thoughts. I was now starting to overthink. If it wasn't my period, why exactly am I dealing with this excruciating pain?

"I'm in here, Kelly!" I yelled out from the inside of the stall. I knew my best friend's voice from anywhere and of course she knew where exactly to find me, "Are we alone?"

"Yup!" She responded, popping the last syllable as she usually did.

"Good," I mumbled, stepping out of the stall to meet her. As I washed my hands, I stared myself into the mirror, "Is your period on?" I asked out of curiosity. Strangely, Kelly and I's monthly cycles were synced to perfection. Our dates were usually always the same, so if hers wasn't on, then I could stop stressing myself.

She stared at me through the mirror with a slightly confused expression, "Mine came and went last week. Wait, did you not have yours?"

My shocked facial expression instantly gave my answer away and we both stared back at one another in deep thought. I could take my cycle being late a few days, but an entire week? No! I hated to think the worse, but my mind could only trace back to my sexual encounter with my boyfriend just months prior. I shook my head at the flashback and silly mistakes we possibly made.

"Oh no Bey," Kelly mumbled, "You have to take a test! Have you been feeling sick? Oh my gosh, what if you're pregnant?"

"Don't say that! And how will I be able to buy a test anyway?!"

"My cousin 'Toya could buy it for you." Kelly suggested and I immediately shut that down. Toya was a senior, and really cool, but I knew that she wasn't good at holding water. The last thing I need is the entire school knowing I needed a pregnancy test.

"No," I sighed, "I—I'm just going to wait it out."

"Wait?" Kelly exclaimed, "Wait on a baby bump to appear and you can't do anything about it? What would your parents think Bey? What would you even think? We're still so young, a—"
