I let the heavenly taste of the tacos linger while I watched the waves of the ocean before me.

Being near the water made me feel so at peace, especially with delicious food and Tequila to enjoy as well.

"How does it feel to be 35?" Josh asked. He sat on the other side of me enjoying the chips and salsa since he had eaten his tacos within minutes of getting them.

His arm draped tightly around my torso as I downed the food with a shot of Patron. "It feels great. I'm happy to be celebrating my birthday with you." Our lips met for a quick peck which turned into us making out.

Josh had surprised me with a trip to Tulum, Mexico to celebrate my big day. I wasn't expecting it since we've been at odds this past week, but I should've known he still had something special planned.

This was our second morning here and I was already in heaven thanks to the nice view of the ocean and all of the amazing food and drinks we've been served.

"I'm glad that you're happy," Josh said near my ear, "You want anything else to eat?"

"Baby I still have two more tacos to finish!"

He chuckled while examining the menu, "Well I'm 'bout to order something else. I'm still hungry."

I nudged him, "Of course you are."

While he ordered his second entree, I thought about how far in life we've came together. My talk with Kelly most definitely opened my eyes. What I had done to him wasn't right; It was the lowest of low and I was disappointed in myself because of it.

I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Josh. Yes, he has flaws but so do I. I didn't want to lose him just because of an old flame that was built off of sexual tension.

No matter what, I'll always love Jay. He was my first everything. My feelings for him did resurface but I had no plans of acting on them again. I needed to do right by the man I planned on marrying.

"So, your mom called me this morning to wish me a happy birthday. She loves me after all."

"What made you think my mom ever hated you, B?"

I looked at him, "Baby, you know she didn't truly accept me in the beginning of our relationship. She wasn't always the nicest to me. Plus, with this recent issue of ours, I felt as if she had another reason to hate me."

He sighed and placed a kiss on my shoulder, "I'm sorry for talking to her about our issues, but she loves you B. Maybe she has a weird way of showing it, but she's done nothing but support us."

"I just don't like that she thinks we need to push the wedding back just because I don't want a child right now."

He nodded, "And that's my fault too, but she doesn't mean any harm." He grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it, "I can't wait to give you my last name."
