I watched as the phone rang for the 7th time in under 30 minutes. My jaws clenched seeing my mom's name on display. The visual memory of her and Jay in the doorway of the hotel room still made me angry the more I thought about it.

They both were grown adults so whatever was going on is their business, but I couldn't help but feel lied to and as if I couldn't trust anyone.

She told me how much he hurt her, the things he did, and all of the emotional damage he caused. My mind could never paint her as the type of woman to be a liar or a cheater, but she disappointed me.

The movement around me brought me out of the periodic daze I was in to realize class was dismissed and everyone was gathering their belongings to leave.

I closed my Mac and placed it inside the Jimmy Choo nylon backpack before following the crowd out of the double doors.

The 3-hour class made me forget what the weather was like outside — cloudy and gloomy — just how I was feeling. Another stormy day was expected so I had no plans of doing anything special besides rolling a blunt and sleeping in.

The Beats headphones covered my ears blasting Babyface Ray as I was en route to my car. I kept only one ear covered just to be alert, but the sound of my name being called made me pull the headphones off entirely.

I turned slightly to see Normani a few steps behind me. "I know you heard me calling you the first time!" She exclaimed.

I stared her up and down to check her out. It's been a few weeks since we last talked. Granted, she has been hitting me up but I was in a phase of my life where ghosting was the answer to everything.

"Where's your clothes?" I asked in a joking manner. She was dressed in a black Skims set with the latest Yeezys on her feet. The tan cardigan covered her waist, giving everyone a nice view of her toned arms and a peek of her nice breasts.

She rolled her eyes, "Oh, please. The question is, why haven't you been responding to my texts? Your phone doesn't look broke or dead to me!"

I chuckled at how quickly her tone changed. "To be real, I just been dealing with some stuff. Had to fall back, clear my head."

That was somewhat the truth. In all honesty, I didn't see much of a future with her. She was a beautiful girl and the sex was cool, but that was all I wanted. She gave it to me way too easily for my liking so the way I felt about her changed. Plus, I actually wanted to work things out with Chloe; slowly but surely.

"Whatever Angel," She sighed, "But that's all you had to say. Ghosting me and leaving me on read isn't cool."

"You right, but respect it."

She shook her head, "Right. And if the roles were reversed..."

"If they were, I'll keep it P. There's no bad blood between us baby girl. You know I loved kicking it wit' you, but I really needed some space. That's all."
