Staring at myself in the mirror, I sprayed the Burberry fragrance onto my skin feeling very pleased with the smell.
Today's my second day in Baton Rouge, and Angel and I had a few things on our agenda today. My nerves still took control of me as I worried if he would like me as a mother, but only time will tell. I know I can't make up all the years I've missed in just one weekend, but I wanted to show him how long I've been waiting to connect with him.
While browsing my luggage for accessories to pair with my outfit, an incoming call came through my cell briefly interrupting the 90's R&B I was vibing to. A smile came across my face seeing my baby's name.
"What a coincidence you call when Jodeci's Come & Talk To Me is playing. You know that's our song."
Josh's laugh melted my heart as I visualized us being together right now. I missed my man and couldn't wait to get home to him. For the meantime, the constant calls and texts will have to do.
"I remember the last time we listened to that song."
I playfully rolled my eyes, "Don't be nasty Josh. It's 8am."
"8am and I'm missing you."
"I miss you too baby. Just one more day. You can hold out."
He sighed, "I guess. How's everything?"
The smile that came across my face showed just how much I was enjoying my time with Angel. Yesterday was a good day for us, and I know today should go even better.
"Great so far. We were able to talk just a bit about everything. I'm sure he has more questions, just as I do."
"Yeah, and it'll only make him love you even more. You're the cool mom, so it's nothing for him to be scared of."
"Well thanks baby," I said as I set the phone near the head of the bed so Josh could get a clear view of what I was doing, "What are you doing today?"
He shrugged, "Whatever Madison wanna do. She suppose to be on punishment, but I kind of took her off because what's the point? She cursed a kid out for pulling on her hair. That's what she suppose to do."
"Yeah, she should've whooped their ass! But she also shouldn't be cursing with ease at her age. I don't want to say too much. I know baby mama don't like that."
I shrugged my shoulders as Josh just shook his head at my antics. His baby mama, Sabrina wasn't my cup of tea and I obviously wasn't hers either. She's still jealous that I'm in the picture, but I would've been in the picture regardless. Josh and I had a thing before she was ever a factor. No matter the time and distance we were away from one another, we could never leave each other alone.
