Liam's jaw dropped, his eyes wide like he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Why will I promise that!?"
His voice reached over the flapping movement of Ocypete's wings. The cold breeze ruffled my hair and I shivered through the thin material of my dress.
The harpy frowned. "Because you're a cheater and I have the power here, remember?"
Liam grunted in annoyance. "I'm sure we can work around--"
"No, we can't." She hissed at him. "I always said you were mine and yet, you go flirting with other girls; an insignificant human like her!"
She jerked me with her claws and I refrained from cursing out. Or better yet insulting this brainless insecure creature. She can't own someone like that.
I wanted to lash out but something said it wouldn't work very well in my favor. Not when the streets threaten to kiss my ass.
"Besides, " she continued in the best attempt of a seductive voice but instead, it felt like a broken stereo. "If she dies, I'll still have you. If you promise, I'll still have you. It's a win-win..."
A movement to the side caught my attention. Far on the street to my left were the two mysterious teenagers we saw earlier. They stood in front of the apartment building, hidden from Liam's view. Their eyes were fixed on us.
