Henry flattened his hand against my tummy and pressed my back to his front. The action only seemed to piss Liam off. His growl reverberated against the corners of the cavern.
"Nice to meet you, old friend," Henry said with an airy tone.
Liam slid off the wall and landed gracefully on the rough terrain. I couldn't take my eyes off him. His demonic appearance felt more like a sign of trouble than relief. His cat-eyes were wild with rage as he tilted his head.
He focused on the bandage around my neck and spoke in a soft placid voice despite the visible anger. "You bit her."
Henry shrugged. "I needed your attention. Guess it worked. Penny and I had a little chat about your identity."
Keeping his eyes on Liam, Henry leaned down and whispered over my ear in a stunted tone. The next words were meant just for me. "Observe closely, Sweetie."
I couldn't tell what he meant until he raised a clawed hand and wrapped it around my throat. He forced my chin up, exposing my neck and compelling me to stand on my toes. Liam's eyes switched for just a second.
