The Encounter

                               Chloe's POV

"Class dismissed!"

I stretched my arms above my head. It's been a tiring day full of lessons. Pagkalabas ng Professor namin, kaagad na nagsilabasan din ang mga kaklase ko. Akala mo naman mga sinilihan ang pwet. It's the last subject for this day.

Malapit na kasi ang midterm kaya nag-hahabol kami ng mga lessons. Lumabas na din ako. Gusto ko hang umuwi. Gutom na gutom na kasi. Masarap pa naman magluto si manang. I already imagined the caldereta, waiting for me. Oo Alam ko yung ulam kasi tumawag ako sa bahay kanina para lang itanong.

"Pauwi ka na rin?" Napatalon ako sa gulat ng may magsalita sa tabi ko.Of course sino pa ba ang parang kabute na laging sumusulpot. It's Rain. Pareho talaga sila ng kapatid nya. Sulpot ng sulpot.

"Yes. Why are you talking to me again?" Nagtataka lang kasi ako bat palagi nya ko kinakausap pag nakikita ko sya. As far as I know, magkaaway sila ng kapatid ko at mga kaibigan nito. My brother even warned me not to talk to them.

"Hmm. Because we're friends?" Kibit balikat nitong sagot.

"We are? Why am I not informed that we're friends?" I tried to remember kung kelan nangyari yun. "Did I have amnesia? Oh my God! Makakalimutin na ba ko? I'm sorry if I forgot that we are friends. I really didn't mean too." I said with teary eyes. I'm such a terrible friend.

He looked at me weirdly but then he laughs to himself. Maybe iniisip nya kung paano ko nakalimutan ang bagay na iyon.

"That's fine Chloe. You don't have to feel terrible." He chuckles again.

"Thank you you're too kind." Tumigil ako sa paglakad at hinarap sya kaya napatigil din ito sa paglakad. I'm about to ask him of how we became friends. I really don't remember. Besides sa pagkakaalala ko bawal ako makipagkaibigan sa kanya. Pero malay ko kung pumayag ako't hindi ko lang naalala.

I haven't had the chance to voice my questions dahil may humarang saming mga lalaki. Agad akong hinila ni Rain papunta sa likod nya.

Sinilip ko naman bahagya ang mga ito. I mentally count them. Seven men. And they are really buff.

"Stay behind me Chloe." He said looking so serious. His voice even turned cold.

I chuckled nervously.
"Of course, I'll stay behind you. Nasa likod mo lang ako palagi. Wag ka matakot. Sa likod lang ako ha?" I may seem naive and stupid sometimes. Well uhh. I guess most of the time rather. But I know we are in a sticky situation right now. I sweep my gaze on the whole place which is at the parking lot. Noone's around anymore.

Yup. Confirmed! We are in a really really dire situation. I prayed mentally.

"What can I do for you gentlemen?" Rain asked them nicely. My golly. Did he plan to have a conversation with those guys. Itsura't attire palang halata mo na agad na mga walang gagawing mabuti. I thought I am stupid. But I guess, Rain can beat my stupidity.

"We just want Ms. Chloe Gonzaga. She's that lady behind you, am I right? Xiel Gonzaga's sister." OMG! They want me. Wala naman akong maalala na kasalanan ko sa kanila ah? They even knew my brother.

"Chloe! Are you listening to me? I said get my phone from the back pocket of my pants." His whisper cut through my mental monologue.

"Yes. Of course I'm listening." Tinignan ko young bulsa sa likod ng jeans nya and andun talaga young phone nya kaya agad kong kinuha. Pero syempre hindi ko pinahalata.

"Good. Call my sister. She's on speed dial number 1. You don't need password for that. Mabubuksan mo naman yan. I already swipe my fingerprint to open that ng di nila nahahalata kanina. Please be discreet about it."
