Ella's POV
"Ito na po lahat ng impormasyon nakuha ko tungkol sa taong ito." Dahan-dahang inilapag nito sa table ang folder na naglalaman ng impormasyong pinakalap ko.
I gently drummed my fingers on the table and gestured my head that he can go now. I waited for him to close the door before I read the files.
My eyes carefully skimmed every details. I made sure that no information were left out. My mind's trying to process everything. Formulating my next move. Possible outcome of all my plans.
I wouldn't stop thinking all the possible ways how I can put everything into motion. Every part of me screams for a moment of rest. But my mind wouldn't let me. It won't stop working, of thinking.
Lalo na ngayon dahil sa mga nabasa ko. The investigator did an excellent job gathering information I wanted about this person. But I still want something. I want something dirtier. Yung tipong hindi na sya makakabangon mula sa pagkakalugmok kapag inumpisahan ko na ang dapat matagal ko nang ginawa.
I picked up the telephone and about to dial the person I know who can do the job but my secretary's voice stopped me from doing so.
"Ms. Ella. Your brother is here and he has company. Should I let them in now, Miss?" She asked gently.
I hid the files in my desk before I answered her.
"Let them in." Tipid kong sagot sa tanong nito.
My brother and our friends entered my office. I stared at them while they sit themselves. Friends. I want to laugh at myself. Friends sure does not hide anything from each other.
They helped me a lot. Yet I still hid a lot from them. I wouldn't be surprised if they'll be furious if they found out everything. I won't say that I don't have a choice but to left them in the dark.
Because I do have a choice. I just chose not to inform them all my plans. Coz I knew deep inside of me that they will be loose ends in my plans.
I'm f*ck*d up.
"What brought you all here? Did something happened?" I calmly asked them while sweeping my gaze to each of them.
"Dumiretso ka kasi agad dito pagkatapos ng klase mo. Hindi mo manlang ako hinintay." Tila nagtatampong sagot ng kapatid ko. I just answered him with a raised eyebrow.
"Masyado ka naman na yatang busy ngayon, girl? Kulang pa ba yung yaman mo? Sobrang yaman mo na kaya." Lizzie said in her usual bitchy tone. I know that I'm already filthy rich but what they didn't know is that I'm not doing this to be richer.
I have far more deeper reason. Deeper than my vengeance.
It's still part of the things I didn't told them. And I'm not planning to tell until all this ends. Not even to my brother.
I can't possibly tell them that I've ventured to something far more dangerous. More dangerous than us being a gangster. It wasn't child's play anymore.
"I apologize then. I've got a lot of papers to sign and meetings I'd have to attend for the new business venture I'm planning." I stated calmly. That's right tell them only the minimal things ,Ella. Bend the truth a bit. The least they know, the safer for them and all the plans to succeed.
"What business? Kaninong company na naman ang papasukin mo?" My brother asked with a frown. Be calm. Answer him so he'll stop asking questions I can't answer with a truth.
"Do not worry brother it wasn't part of my revenge. It's just really about making a partnership with another businessman. About some hotel we're planning to establish. We are still going to discuss the details kaya hindi ko pa sinasabi sayo ang tungkol dito."
He nods. Mukhang tinanggap naman nya ang paliwanag ko. Totoo rin naman ang sinabi ko ngayon. Although it's just a piece of the truth.
"Eh di hindi ka makakasama samin ngayon? Pupuntahan pa naman namin yung bagong bukas na eat-all-you-can korean resto." Nanghihinayang na saad ni Hans.
"I'm sorry but I really can't." Walang ganang tugon ko dito.
"Masyado ka naman kasing busy. Ang bata mo pa naman pero kung makapagtrabaho ka para ka ng may binubuhay na mga anak." Lukot na lukot ang mukha ni Aegus habang sinasabi ito. It's understandable for his type. He is a happy go lucky guy. He hates responsibility.
"Duh! Natural wala namang ibang magmamanage ng business ng pamilya nila kundi silang magkapatid lang." Pabalang na sagot dito ni Lizzie.
"Edi bilib ka na kay Ella at Rain kasi nga sila namamahala sa company nila kahit na bata pa sila." Tanong dito ni Hans na may nakakalokong ngiti. I internally sighed. Mag-uumpisa na naman silang asarin si Lizzie. Pikon din kasi ang isang to.
"Well.. Yes you could say that. Hanga na rin ako sa kanila. Coz despite of their age, they are still successful in their career." Sabay na tumatango ang ulo ni Hans at Aegus. Habang nakataas naman ang isang kilay ni Dylan na kanina pa tahimik
"They're young and successful." Nagtinginan ang dalawa. "May isa pa kaming kilalang young and successful na CEO."
"Gusto mo bang malaman kung sino?" Dagdag ni Hans at sabay bungisngis. Lizzie just frown in return.
"Si Pareng Dylan din young and succesful CEO na. May paghanga ka na rin ba sa kanya?" Pagkatapos sabihin ni Aegus ay tumawa na sila ni Hans na nakakaasar. Pati sa pandinig ko masakit sa tenga ang hagikgikan nila na parang walang bukas. Nakisali pa ang kapatid ko. Samantalang ngumisi lamang si Dylan kaya nanlilisik ang mata ni Lizzie sa kanilang lahat.
Di na talaga sila nadala. Alam naman nilang pikon yun isa, aalaskahin pa nila.
"I thought you're all going to that newly opened restaurant?" I said to diffuse the incoming senseless banter that will result to onslaught of foul words that would put a sailor's mouth to shame.
It was as if they just remembered that they're supposed to go somewhere. I sighed. They're such a kid sometimes.
"Oo nga pala. Buti pinaalala mo boss Ella." Natatawang sagot ni Aegus.
"Mga stupid kasi kayo." Pagtataray ni Liz sa mga ito.
"Tama na yan. Baka magtalo na talaga kayo at hindi pa tayo matuloy sa lakad natin." Sita ni Rain pagkatapos ay lumingon ito sakin. "Aalis na kami , sis. Pag napagod ka, magpahinga ka na ha. Napapansin ko kasi na madalas sumasakit ang ulo mo eh." Nag-aalala nitong paalala.
"I'll be fine. So go ahead and enjoy the rest of your day." I assured him in a gentle voice. Tumango siya at isa-isa na silang nagpaalam.
That's right brother. You should enjoy the calm before the storm. I'm sorry in advance, Rain. I hope you'll forgive me. I know you deserved everything that is good in this world.
This files I've just got is one of the pieces for the checkmate I've planned. I'm sorry because I'm about to f*ck up everything. That includes your heart and life brother.
I stared at these files. I should've realized sooner. I should've calculated every move. I shouldn't have included you. Now I'm about to hurt you but I'll make sure that I'll do everything to help you as much as I can. Even if I had to break myself. I haven't told him but I remembered glimpse of my memories. I just can't tell now.
You were my strength. But now you've become a liability. I'm sorry that I will fail you. Forgive me brother. But I have to do this. I'm about to break your trust.
I dialled the person I know who's excellent in this job. Finding the dirtiest secret of a person.
"Hello. It's me. I need you to find dirt on this person and the people associated with him. Yes. I want it the day after tomorrow. Thank you." Then I cut the call.
