𝚄𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚍 || ᴺᵃʳᵘᵗᵒ ᴼⁿᵉˢʰᵒᵗˢ ⁽ᵗᵉᵐᵖᵒʳᵃʳⁱˡʸ ᶜˡᵒˢᵉᵈ⁾

001 | 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚘~𝙱𝚞𝚐𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙿𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜

Shino Aburame is one of the supporting characters and in my opinion one of the strongest and underrated characters in the Naruto series. What made him so unique is that he can control insects as a normal Aburame clan would, he may also be the quietest among Konoha 11, but his genius mind showed and made him one of the teachers in the Academy in Boruto's era. I include Shino in this because I rarely see any Shino x reader books other than in one-shots.

Fun fact: After Shikamaru, Shino is the smartest member in the Konoha 11, He and Sakura tied in intelligence.

The air brushed your face, you sat there on the ground as green grasses tickled any exposed skin. You like the silence, but your mind soon reminded you that it's time to go home. Standing up you see a hooded figure in the distance, your mind told you that it was definitely a male, though you didn't know that many people to think that you have some unfinished business with them. Shrugging the thought off you walked towards your so-called house near the field where you sat a few minutes ago.

You took your keys and pushed them through the lock, it fit in so perfectly when you turn it made a click sound. Signifying that your house is unlocked. Walking in you saw one of your flowers had a bug landing on it, however, you didn't give a mind about it since you thought it was just for pollination so you continued on walking more into your home, to your balcony to be exact.

Opening the door, the air soon greeted you as it filled your lungs. You leaned over to your right picking up a blue watering can, holding it up above your flowers, you tilted it slowly but steadily as the water in the can rained upon your plants. You moved soon to a different location in the balcony that was covered in all sorts of greenery; roses, poppies, lavenders, and even a venus flytrap.

Most of the plants you own doesn't really give much attention to your friends, but it does give a horrifying look on one of your friend's face when he comes to your house for work or to hangout. They call him Shino, despite some kids will often call him 'creepy' since he's regularly seen sporting the same style as the rest of his clan, consisting of dark round sunglasses and a sea-green jacket with a high, upturned collar. As your mind wandered, you didn't notice someone knocking on your door. Rushing up to it you opened the hinged wooden barrier to see a familiar sight. Speak of the devil,

"Sorry if I didn't inform you of my arrival," He started in his casual monotone deadpan voice, you then moved away, giving him entry to your house,

"No, no. It's fine, why are you here?" You asked, leading him to your living room,

"I'm here to talk to you about-" He stopped when he saw a bug flying into your venus flytrap, he watched as the bug's life flashed before its eyes when the plant closed its once open flaps. He flinched as he witnessed the scene unfold. You soon understood his change in behavior when you looked over your shoulder to your balcony,

"Oh, I'm sorry you had to watch that," You chuckled awkwardly rubbing the back of your neck, this is why you don't have Shino around so often because he does not enjoy seeing bugs perish in front of him. You stood up and moved toward your curtains, you then let then drape over your window but not entirely, just the window where Shino can see the murderous plant,

"It's okay, it's okay," He repeated, which was weird since it seems off character for him to do that," Like I said, I'm here to talk to you about something,"

You walked back to the couch and sat with him, listening, a trait you have ever since you and team 8 became friends. As the years went by they soon started to grow on you, your love for plants from Kurenai-sensei, your sort of shy personality from Hinata, and your trait for listening to others from none other than Shino. You didn't get any trait or behavior from Kiba since every time you're around him, all he does is talk about his canine clan,

"So, you know how we've been friends for maybe longer than you and I can imagine," He said in a shaky tone, he paused as his gaze shifted from you to your balcony where Kiba and Hinata stood waiting for your 'reaction',

"And?" You inquired, since it's also off character for him to trail off like that. He's being his teammate right now,

"I sort of wanted this friendship to be, more than just a friendship? If that makes sense," He continued, trailing off again. You lifted one of your eyebrows, puzzled,

"What do you mean?"

"Well, in society people would call this a confession," He simply added, those clutter of words echoed throughout your head. This. Was. A. Confession. Shino just confirmed it. The both of us sat there like fools for a few seconds,"I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way,"

You held his hand before he had the chance of walking away, you glanced up,

"No, I like you too, Shino," You smiled warmly at him, he then pulled his upturned collar down revealing a smile you've never seen before. A thud could be heard from your balcony, you turned around to see his teammates Kiba and Hinata and you soon knew that you two were being watched. You ran toward the balcony with Shino following behind you, opening the glass sliding barrier you caught Kiba and Akamaru before they fled, Hinata stood frozen in place as she watched her friends being scolded,

"Haven't your mom told you to not stalk people? It's creepy, Kiba," You said in a tone filled with fury, Akamaru just whimpered as he saw his master being scolded by his friend,

"Told you to not stalk her," Shino chimed in behind you as Hinata nodded.
