"This view — Breathtaking, right?"

I stared out onto the beautiful city of Chicago, which so happened to be my home for the past five years. With my career as an Airline and Military Pilot, I have been blessed to live in numerous locations — Houston, Atlanta, South Korea, Dubai, Paris, and now Chicago. Though all those cities were beyond beautiful, none of them compared to The Chi.

"Yeah, I believe my view is much better though."

I couldn't contain the smile that spread across my lips. My fiancé, Josh's eyes stared back at me as he held a smirk. Of course he was enjoying my cheeks turning all red as I blushed away. This man never fails to make me feel so good on the inside.

Josh and I met over ten years ago during our time overseas in the Navy. What started out as strictly good friends turned into me falling in love with him. We were friends first for two years, just enjoying each other's company while we were away from our families. We both were in a vulnerable state, but we were adamant on doing this relationship thing right.

We suddenly had to part ways when he was sent off to Cuba, leaving me all alone in South Korea. I felt like I lost my best friend, which I did since we lost complete contact with one another. Three years later — the year 2012 — We both were stationed in Paris. To this day, I still believe it was fate that brought us back. The first day we saw one another, he officially asked me out to be his girlfriend. Without a hesitation, I said yes! Not even knowing that he had just gotten out of a relationship and had a daughter named Madison that was only a few months old.

I was hurt when we finally sat to talk and he had told me the news. I should've known it would happen, but I wasn't upset. We had spent some time apart and besides, I wasn't ready for kids of my own anyway. But here we are, in 2017 still going strong. We were six months into our engagement and I was the happiest I've ever been and I knew he felt the same.

The smile on his face as he sat across from me gave me an unexplainable feeling. His smile brought so much joy to my life and all of those he has touched. His perfectly whiten teeth drew me in and I leaned over the dinner table with my lips puckered and eyes closed for a kiss.
