The year someone turns 18 they have the opportunity to be injected with a serum that will produce a soulmate mark somewhere on their body. This serum is costly and the procedure to get the injection is not covered by insurance.
A rare illness cropp...
"We did go on dates. But, we knew from the get go that our relationship wouldn't be anything more than a sexual one. Hell, Christine had mentioned early on she was more attracted to women than men. She honestly had been checking you out back there. It's the only reason I brought up Nabi to be honest. To get her to stop giving you assessing lingering looks."
Honestly, I hadn't noticed that. I had been too preoccupied with the concern in my mind. I take a deep breath. "Okay, so now that I know we can move on with our date."
Joon arches an eyebrow. "You aren't mad?"
"I think I am a little bit annoyed. But, I really don't want to ruin our time together. So, I am doing my best to move past this sense of annoyance. I told you I just wanted to know since I met her face to face. Now that I know we can move on. But, I promise that after our date is over, if I am still feeling awkward and annoyed about it I will let you know."
He pulls out the paper. "It's probably silly but I had them make a scavenger hunt for us of sorts. Let's see what they chose for the first one. 'Take a picture of the each of you posing like one of the sculptures or paintings.'"
"Okay, let's appreciate the art in the room first though. After, we can get our silly on."

He smiles and nods. The rest of the museum trip goes like that. The next room we have to find a piece of art that has each other's favorite color. "Something purple then right?"
I'm assuming he is remembering from when we ordered the bowling balls. I actually had also taken that moment to thank them all for unintentionally decorating my room in my favorite color. I honestly tried to cheat at first by picking out the same painting since one of his favorite colors was also purple. But he made me go pick something in either black or pink. At least he didn't make me find one with both. That would have taken forever.
Once we are in the last room I start to realize how hungry I am getting. The pancakes long since forgotten. "Hey Joonie, I know we still have this room to peruse. But should we go ahead and figure out what we want to eat and send someone off to get the food? My stomach is starting to make itself known with complaints."
He chuckles. "Sure Baby."
He pulls up a list of different things in the area. There is so much to choose from. I point out a waffle place. "If we hadn't had pancakes this morning I would probably choose that. Those look amazing."
I continue to look around. "Wait. Korean rice porridge. Is it weird that sounds good to me? I mean I've never had it, but it sounds like comfort food to me."
He nods. "It definitely is comfort food. I definitely recommend it during the colder months because it definitely feels like it warms up your entire body. It's lucky the weather is still trying to remain a bit on the chilly side. Porridge sounds good to me too. So, let's both figure out what we want."
We sit beside to peruse the menu. "I'm between the Beef Seaweed and Beef Mushroom." Joon admits beside me.
I bite my own lip in concentration. "I'm not feeling spicy, so I am eliminating all of these reddish orangish bowls. Although a couple of them definitely sound interesting, and I will have to try them in the future. I think I am going to go for this one with the red crab legs in it."
Joon shows me that there are three of the porridge bowls with the red crab legs. "I think you want the one labled 'special.'"
"Why's that?" I ask him.
"It has the most crab in it." He smiles victoriously at me.
"Twist my rubber arm why don't ya." I say jokingly. "Then yes of course I want that one specifically."
For a few minutes we just walk around the last room holding each other's hand. "I really am sorry that you had to find out about Christine like that. Not saying I wouldn't have shared her existence with you; I just honestly hadn't expected her here."
"She's quite beautiful, and exceptionally well put together."
"And most definitely not what I want. You don't have to feel insecure, Baby." He tries to reassure me.
Honestly, I hadn't realized I had felt that way. I look down at my outfit and know that I had felt frumpy and like a slob in comparison to her.
As if he were reading my mind. "Baby, she followed my music and it never occurred to her to dress in red converse for me. She may be 'well put together' like you phrased, but I definitely prefer my women more casually dressed. I loved your confidence when I showed up at your door earlier. I want to see more of that okay?"
I nod my head. "Sure, Joonie."
He smiles at my variation of his name. I've only uttered it a time or two before now, but I knew this probably wouldn't be the last time I said it.

We hadn't looked at the goal of this room until that moment. "Kiss between the paintings." He reads the goal aloud then turns and smirks at me. He guides me so we are situated in the middle of two paintings, but still a safe distance away and takes me into his arms. The kiss is much softer and gentler than the ones I am used to with him. When we pull away from each other I can see that he is simply trying to restrain himself from taking the kiss too far.
