It takes us a few minutes to get the doors leading to the interior of the museum and walk through them toward the reception desk. Joon surprises me by taking in a deep breath. I look over at him in confusion and follow his gaze to the woman stepping toward us. "Christine, I didn't think you would be here today."
Christine is Caucasian with golden blonde hair and even paler highlights. She is exceptionally put together with her hair up in a bun, her makeup subtle perfection, and her amazing designer brand outfit. She definitely has her own sense of style perfected. She looks both gorgeous and business oriented in her button up blouse and knee length pencil skirt. "Well, had you been here yesterday like you had originally planned, then no you wouldn't have seen me. But, I was already scheduled to work today, and since you shifted your plan. Well, here I am."
He nods, but makes no move to introduce me to this woman he quite obviously knows. He does however pull me closer to him.
"So, this must be your soulmate." Her accent dictates that she is probably originally from Australia. Although it's also obvious that the accent is barely hanging on and trying to fade into obscurity. "I've read about you in the media, but I admit that I am too busy with work to really do much more than that. I'm Christine. Namjoon and I--" She pauses over her words. "Well, we dated off and on for a brief time."
I look at Joon to try to confirm this. He strokes his hand through the back of his hair, and I can't help but notice the guilty look on his face. I trail my eyes back over Christine, and I immediately see connections I hadn't before. Joon had admitted to reporters when asked about his celebrity crush that it had been Blake Lively. It was his way of sending a subtle nod to his then girlfriend. Because Christine did have some similar features to the American actress.
"Yes, Christine and I dated off and on for a while. But, we separated pretty early on because not long after she found her soulmate." Joon is quick to admit.
She shifts up the cuff of her blouse to show a small butterfly mark on her wrist. "Nabi, my butterfly." She smiles affectionately, obviously thinking of her in that moment. "She misses you too, by the way, Namjoon."
Joon clears his throat. "So, you were supposed to have something prepared for us?" He asks in a move to get completely off topic.
I've admitted before with many of them their past is their past. But, if it's a possibility that I might bump into said past, then I would like to be prepared and know about it ahead of time. So, despite the level headedness I am trying to maintain. I plan on pulling Joon aside at the earliest convenience.
I barely notice the piece of paper that Christine hands over to Namjoon. But, when he puts his hand in mine and steers me toward the first exhibit I come back to awareness. "It was nice to meet you, Christine." I say, even though I'm not really sure I feel that way at all.
The minute we walk into the first room he pulls me aside to a nearby couch. "Daisy, ask. I know you are dying to know."
I sigh and repeat my own thoughts. How I don't have a problem with their past staying in their past if that's what they want. I don't really need to know. I explain though if it's highly likely I will bump into said past I really want at least a heads up. "I have to ask though. What did you mean when she said that Nabi missed you too?"
He sighs and looks out across from him. "A few times after she had found Nabi she invited me to go out with them. Daisy, when she said we dated. That's not exactly what she meant. She was just trying to be professional."
"Are you saying your relationship was strictly sexual? Wait, are you saying you had a few nights where you shared the both of them?" My chest really aches now. I don't think I'm jealous. Not exactly at least. But, I am definitely not fond of this feeling.
