Akatsuki hideout - 3rd pov

The sounds of fighting could be heard throughout the entire base. Pain had been training Hinata all day every day, with the only breaks being meals, sleeping, and when Hinata passes out from exhaustion.

"That's enough for today. Get something to eat then head off to bed alright?" Pain said when he realized it was already 9:00.

"Of course. Thank you sir." Hinata replied.

"You know you can call me by my name. You're one of us now. Oh and we need to get rid of your stutter, so tomorrow, instead of physical training we will work on your social skills. Especially with that one blonde boy . . . What was his name? Na . . . Natsu-no . . . Naru . . Naruto? Yeah Naruto."

Hinata grimaced at his name. No. I can't still have feelings for him. Those people betrayed me. She thought.

"Understood . . . Pain."

Pain smiled. "That's my girl. Now go get some food."

W-what did he just say? I smiled. Not even Father-no, Hiashi, ever said that to me. He only told me I wasn't good enough. But Pain . . . Pain has told me I'm good enough. Pain told me I can be stronger. Told me I can change.

"H-hey Pain?" I tried not to stutter but I just couldn't stop.

"What do you need?"

"C-can I . . ."

"Well?"

"C-can I call y-you . . . F-f-father?" He didn't speak for about a minute. Oh no . . . I've gone too far. "I-i'm sorry! I-"

"Of course you can." My head shot up like a rocket on steroids. I was grinning like an idiot when he continued. "Why do you ask?"

"Well . . . My father never said that she was proud of me. He only said I wasn't good enough-"

"He was wrong." Pain cut me off. "You have real talent. If he can't see that, he doesn't deserve you. None of them do."

I couldnt stop smiling as I went to the kitchen to get something to eat.
