Adriell James Silvestre's POV.
"Congrats on your successful operation, Dr. Silvestre"
Tumango naman ako at ngumiti ng konti sa ibang mga doctor at nurses na bumabati saakin. Pagkarating ko sa ward namin may mga bumabati pa rin. It was just a simple operation but they make it a big deal because I operated on a government official.
I sat on my chair and stretched a bit. I close my eyes for a moment, resting for awhile because of the tiring long shift. I'm no one here so I need to build up my name on my own, and that means I need to work extra hard. I need to prove myself before I go back and work on our hospital in the Phillipines.
"Doc Silvestre?" I opened my eyes and looked at the doctor calling me.
"Yes, Doc Jones?" Tumayo ako at hinarap siya.
"President King is looking for you"
Tumango naman ako at nagpathank you bago umalis para puntahan na yung presidente ng hospital na ito.
I felt a little nervous but I let out a heavily sigh before entering his office.
"Goodevening, sir." I greeted him, "You called me?"
"Ah yes. Take a seat." He gestured the chair across him and I sat there. "As you know, a meeting will be held next week about the retirement of Doctor Stewart, the head of the cardiologist department."
"Yes, sir. What about it?" Hanggang ngayon wala pa rin akong clue kung anong gusto niyang iparating. I don't want to jump to conclusions unless it's really obvious.
"The thing is, you're one of the candidates and at the meeting you need to prepare a short presentation and defend yourself for the position. As I can see here on your record, despite of your age, you're definitely qualify for the position. Will you take it?"
Nagisip muna ako saglit bago siya ngitian ng konti. "Thank you sir. But I'll think about it."
"Okay, but not too long. Don't miss this big opportunity Doctor Silvestre."
"Yes. Thank you" sabi ko at medyo nagbow bago lumabas sa office niya.
Umuwi na ako pagkatapos ng shift ko para kumuha lang ng damit dahil may shift nanaman ako bukas ng umaga. Well, I basically live in the hospital because of the non stop work I have to do.
Biglang nagring yung laptop ko at nakitang nagcacall si Ate Audrey. Sinagot ko naman iyon at nagpatuloy na magligpit.
[Hey, little brother!] Bati niya.
[Hi daddy!] Biglang litaw ni Sofia sa screen which made me smile.
