Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 40

"So how are you and the boyfriend doing?" Tyler asks genuinely just trying to make conversation with me. "We broke up." I shrug, he stops walking. "What?" "Yeah, a little while ago Luke's been waiting for the right time to tell the press." "That's insane yeah well nothing about this life right now is exactly sane so..." They all chuckle as we stop at a food truck. 

"So, I'm obsessed with your channel." Tyler confesses munching down on the burger he bought. "And I was thinking if you're down, we should do a collab." My eyes go wide. "Are you serious you want to do a video with me?" "Of course I do!" Connor giggles at Tyler's enthusiasm and I smile down at my french fries. 

"I am such big fans of both of yours." I confess. "Connor almost every girl at my middle school had a crush on you." "Oh really?" he replies raising an eyebrow and I nod. "This was back when you had the flow and everything." 

Tyler claps his hands together. "It was like a helmet!" Niki bites her lip pulling out her phone. "I think it's time for a picture" 'Bitch with food hanging out of my mouth?" Tyler asks raising a hand to his cheeks filled with food. I laugh leaning into him and Niki snaps a photo I notice that Connor's just watching and I wrap an arm around him with a huge smile on my face. 

I get back home around six after Tyler, Connor, and I had walked around the city and gone window shopping. I really liked all of them, Nicki was really shy but she started to open up after a little while. When I got to the outside of the hotel there's a crowd of girls waiting outsides. "Shit," I mumble steeping out of the cab and tossing him a twenty. 

I cover my face I try to push pass but one of them recognizes me and they start crowding around. I suddenly feel very claustrophobic and I struggle to catch my breath. "I love you!" "Luke's mine!" "How big's his dick?" My head pounds and I try to say something along the lines of please back up but it's so quite no one can hear. 

Then there's more shrieking and they all turn away. "Sky!" someone shouts and my knee's feel weak. Suddenly I'm dropping but before I hit the ground someone is picking me up bridal style. I look up and my visions blurry but I see a mop of black and blue hair and I know it's Michael. 

I grasp onto his t-shirt as he pulls me inside I don't let go until he sets me down on his bed. I still feel shaky but he grabs me a bottle of water and sits beside me until I calm down. 

"You alright?" he asks me quietly pulling out his phone. "Thanksm" I smile taking a sip of water. "That was crazy, that's never happened to me before." "Get used to it internet sensation." I roll my eyes and he scrunches his nose and we both start to laugh.

"So we're good?" I ask Michael takes a breath. "Always muppet" he replies leaning over to hug me. I smile into it when the door slams and we both pull away, Luke is standing there fuming. "What the fuck!" he shouts.    

Natalie's POV

"Nat this is amazing!" Calum says after he kissed me and once Skyler had left the room.  "I honestly had to pinch myself when Sky told me." I said.  Calum moves some of my curly hair out of my face and I blush a little before Calum said "I almost forgot!  There's a song that we've been working on....wanna hear a bit of it?"

I smile and say "Sure.  It'll give me some motivation so I can work on my homework."  Calum grins and he runs back and grabs the guitar that he had kept in the corner of the room, as he pulls up a chair and quickly adjusts the strings and grabs his pick.  I sit on the edge of the bed, cross legged as I anxiously awaited what he was gonna sing.

"We called it 'Disconnected'...." Calum casually mentions and I nod and say "It already sounds good." "It'll sound amazing recorded so don't judge how it sounds now...." "I already know you're a little bit shit at guitar." I joke and Calum pouts and says "C'mon I'm better than you aren't I?" "I don't wanna talk about it!" I say dramatically as I grab a pillow and hide my face behind it.
