NAMJOON - Being in love with him

"What?" he responded, rather harsh.

"Tae-O asked me out and I agreed" you elaborated. Namjoon put his phone down and leaned back in his seat, chewing on his bottom lip.

"I didn't know you liked him" he mumbled, avoiding your eyes.

"He seems like a decent guy, I wanted to give him a chance" you told him and your eyes met.

"(Y/N), you shouldn't have agreed if you aren't sure whether you like him or not" he said in a scolding tone, which annoyed you.

"Namjoon, I don't plan on staying single my whole life, you know" you said, "I would like to be in a relationship too. You should know why since you are the one who literally cannot stay without a girlfriend for a week."

Namjoon scoffed at that, getting up from his seat.

"Enjoy yourself then with Tae-O" he spat, "I should go hook up with a girl or something since I apparently cannot stay without a girlfriend."

"Namjoon why are you acting like this ? You should be happy for me. You know I have never gone on a date before, and I am nearly 23" you said and Namjoon's expression softened. Heaving a sigh, he sat back down.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean to snap like that" he apologized, looking directly at you, "This was just unexpected." For the first time you couldn't read his eyes. Assuming that he must be caught up in drama again, you didn't question it too much.

"I understand" you reassured, "I just thought you would be happy for me."

He didn't respond to that. It seemed like he wanted to say something, but he couldn't.

"When are you going on the date?" he then asked.

"This weekend on Saturday" you told him. Chuckling lightly, you added "I don't even know what to wear to such occasions."

"I will come over and help you choose something" he said in a quiet voice and you smiled at him.

"You are too cute" you said, and he finally gave you a small smile.

*The day of the date*

Namjoon had been very quiet this past week. He was around more than usual too. Not once had he missed having lunch with you and he also dropped you off home too every day.

He was particularly soft these days, extra attentive and sweet. You liked the attention he gave you and enjoyed every single second of it. One too many times you were tempted to blow off the date, but you resisted your feelings. It was only a matter of time until he had his next girlfriend and then you would be his second option again and you knew that you wouldn't be able to go through that yet again.

"Do you like this dress or this dress" you asked Namjoon who was sprawled out on your bed. You were holding up a classic little black dress and a more girly baby pink dress with ruffles on its sleeves. Namjoon eyed the options carefully, heaving a sigh. He didn't look too happy helping you choose an outfit. In fact, he was very grumpy.

"I like them both on you" he admitted, which made you blush, "But I would not like you to wear any of them to your dAtE."

You raised an eyebrow at him skeptically.

"What is it that you have against me going on a date? I thought you liked Tae-O" you finally snapped at him, putting away the dresses and rummaging through your other clothes.

"I don't care whether you go on a date or not, I just don't understand why you go on a date with someone you don't even know you like" he said, avoiding your eyes.
