Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 35

"Yes." she admits and I shriek covering my mouth with both hands. "I knew it!" Natalie says "Calum owes me ten bucks!" I cheer doing a dance in the back seat as we pull up in a parking lot. "Where are we?" I ask stepping out of the car "Not sure but Michael promised me we wouldn't get carded here" Sylvana tells me straightening out her t-shirt. 

I follow Natalie and Sylvana down the road and into a corner pub, there where only a few groups of people there mostly middle aged men in football jerseys shouting at the TV that hung above the bar. We sit down in the corner and Natalie takes a sigh of relief.

"Hey, my name's Zack I'll be your server can I get you ladies anything" I eye him he was really attractive he hair was styled in a similar quiff to Luke's but it was longer and darker he had light eyes and was wearing a lop sided grin. "Fries" Natalie says. "And six shots" Sylvana adds he chuckles looking up at us.

"Coming right up," his eyes linger on Natalie before walking off. "He was totally checking you out Nat" I tell her and she she shakes her head "no, I saw it too" Sylvana backs me up I point at her. "It's to bad you have a... fill in the blank!" I sing she slaps my arms and I shove her.  "Boyfriend!" she finally admits Sylvana and I cheer. "Thank god!" I groan lifting my arms up. "Praise the heavens." Sylvana agrees.  "Seriously I'm really happy for you Nat!" I tell her pulling her into a hug she rolls her eyes.

"Alright, alright that is enough touching." she informs me and I just laugh. "Skyler…" Natalie says her tone getting serious I shake my head knowing what she wanted to talk about. "No, no we've been having so much fun mani's, pedi's, hannah montana music, french fries why ruin it?" "We just want to make sure you're ok." I groan "Why does everyone keep asking me if I'm ok? The doctor, my mom, Luke... I'm sick of it! I'm fine, I'm I'm great. I am fan fuckingtastic" I break and I breath heavily the table suddenly silent.

"Here are your fries... and shots…" Zack says and Sylvana clears her throat as he sets the things down on the table barely breaking eye contact with Nat. "Can we please get drunk now?" I ask downing the first shot, Natalie picks one up and raises it before drinking it.  We both look at Vana expectedly and she shrugs, "Cheers ma dears." We both cheer finally smiles returning back on there faces as we all dig into the pile of greasy fries. 

We all laugh extremely loudly and obnoxiously but I'm to drunk to care. I feel happy and everything seems to move in slow motion, like one of those movie scenes where the popular girls go out and have a good time right before something bad happens. 

Natalie and Sylvana are having a sword fight with the final two fries, I lean over and try to bite the fries from their hands. "I love this song!" I say slapping Sylvana's arm repeatedly. "Every song is you favourite," she tells me. "No but this one, this one is my jam!" I try to explain clutching onto her. she chuckles grabbing my hand.

"Let's dance?" "It's really late we should get home," Natalie says and I pout.  "But I wanna dance!" Nat pulls her phone out. "I've got the music in me!" I sing swaying back in forth. "We've got to go." "EVERY TIME WE TOUCH!" I sing louder then I start laughing. "That song isn't about dancing." "God you are such a happy drunk!" Sylvana sighs petting me.

"She is also such a light weight." I attempt to flip her off but hold my thumb up instead which also makes me giggle and I fall on the floor. "C'mon guys let's go," Natalie says grabbing my arm "No!" I say defiantly. "I wanna dance!" Natalie stares at me. "I'm not going anywhere" I tell her louder "Skyler!" Nat says trying to grab my arm again "No!" I shout pulling away Zack comes over.

"Hey if she doesn't want to go she doesn't have to go." I try to touch his face but he's so far away I just end up lying on my stomach. "Oh no!" I pout "Nat the metres running and I only have twenty we need to go!" Sylvana tells her but Nat's still staring at me. "Fine, call me when you need me to pick up your drunk ass." she says bitterly as she walks away I hold my thumb up at her.
