It was another day at school and I absolutely hated it. I hated the people, the teachers, basically everything and everyone. I've never been really integrated into the groups in my grade and I was actually quite thankful for that.

Staying an outsider seemed better to me than having all these false people in your life. However, I did have friends in my grade, they just weren't in my class so I barely saw them. In my own class, I avoided everyone.

Everyone except one guy, because he was just as big of an outsider as I was. But he barely came to school, because he had some kind of illness, nobody knew what exactly though. The seat next to me was practically empty all the time except for the 6 times per month he was in school.

Hoseok was a really nice person to be around but everyone else thought he was weird, because of his permanent absence. Luckily, today, which seemed to be the worst day of the week, turned out to be bearable because Hoseok showed up.

"My favourite person in this class is showing up again. Did you get lost on your way and ended up here by accident?", I teased him as he sat down next to me.
"I wish. No actually I feel better today so I decided to go to school", he said.

"And you're still not going to tell what exactly it is you have?", I asked.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but no", he said and lowered his gaze.
"Hoseok, why don't you tell anyone? You don't have to be scared. I don't think people would use it against you", I said.

"You have no idea. I can't take that risk. If they'd try to use it against me, it could kill me within seconds. And I really can't and don't want to take that risk", he said.
"You don't even trust me enough to tell me, huh?", I said and pouted a bit.

"I do trust you. Maybe I can tell you when we hang out some time alone but not with all those people around. Maybe someone could hear it", Hoseok said and looked at me.
"Promise?"
"Promise."

"Hoseok and y/n, just because Hoseok showed up for school doesn't mean that now is the time to discuss what happened the last few weeks", our teacher suddenly interrupted us, making us flinch.

"We're sorry", we both immediately said and lowered our gazes to look at the book that was laying in front of us.
The lesson was as boring as ever and nothing managed to make it a bit better. We both were more than relieved as the lesson finally was over and we could take a break.

Hoseok and I stood up and made our way out of the classroom together. We started chatting but suddenly got interrupted again.
"Hey, Jung Hoseok, stop right there", someone from behind us said and we both stopped and turned around.

To our luck, it turned out to be the biggest bully we had in our school. He always found things to use against other people and humiliate them in public. And Hoseok was perfect for him since he didn't need to search for things against him for too long.

"Why do you even bother showing up here? Some of us thought you were dead already", he spat, making Hoseok flinch a bit. He just stared at him with big eyes, not knowing how to react to that.

"Oh shut up. Why can't you stop bothering innocent people for a second and at least try to act normal and friendly?", I sighed and looked annoyed at him because I was sick and tired of his behaviour.

"What do you want? Does the famous Jung Hoseok, the ghost of this school, need a bodyguard already?", he grinned and looked up to Hoseok.
"You could have at least hired someone that is able to defend himself."
