I just got changed and was ready to start my shift at work at the hospital. This year marked my 4th year working as a nurse and my job never got boring, not even one time.

The fact that you were always able to bond with new people who had to stay for a bit longer at the hospital was great in my eyes because even though the stay was quite unfortunate for the patients, you were still able to cheer them up or make them smile every now and then.

Some patients were easier to work with than others but I didn't mind that at all since it was part of my job. Still, I loved to hear the different backgrounds and stories of my patients which made them all unique even though some suffered from the same thing.

The first patient I had to go to was quite a troublemaker. He was always very uncooperative and hard to deal with so mostly I took a coworker of mine with me to go to see him.

But as I said before, it was part of my job, so I didn't really mind how he behaved as long as he got better. And he did. Luckily he only had to stay here for some more days before he was allowed to go home again.

"Good morning. How are you today?", I greeted him as soon as I got in the room. And the same procedure as every morning began. He complained about the breakfast and refused to take his medicine.

I had to make him take his medicine as always and I was pretty glad as I was able to walk out of the room again, nearly 30 minutes later. The next patient I had to take care of was easier to deal with. Actually, he was my favorite patient at the moment.

"Good morning Namjoon. How are you today?", I smiled as I walked into his room and looked at him.
"Good morning. I'm doing good. You look quite stressed though. Did you have trouble before?", he asked concerned.

"Same procedure as every morning", I sighed and shrugged.
"You're doing great with the patients though. I've been talking to some others and they all love you", he smiled and sat up in his bed.

"Wow, thanks, I guess. I'm trying my best to make people feel comfortable. I know a hospital is probably not the best surrounding but I think you should always make the best out of everything, no matter how bad it might appear at first", I said and sat down at a chair next to his bed.

"How long have you got for me today?", Namjoon asked and smiled sweetly.
"I don't know. Since the other guy took me so long again probably only about 10 minutes. I can come back after my shift is over though if you want me to, we could eat lunch together", I said.

"Sounds good to me. I don't want you to stay longer just because of me though, don't you need to go home?", he asked.
"Not really. I would be in my own the rest of the day anyway. So I can also stay here and spend time with you. Just think of me as a visitor than", I smiled.

"Thank you", he smiled and I got up again.
"You did take your medicine already, right?", I asked to make sure, but Namjoon always did. In response, he nodded obediently and showed me his dimples as his smile grew wider.

"Why can't all patients be like you?", I sighed.
"It would be boring", Namjoon said and I nodded.
"That's true. Alright, see you later. You know what to do if you need anything else", I smiled and walked out of his room again to continue my shift.

The rest of the morning I was looking forward to having lunch with Namjoon and was beyond glad as my shift was over. I warmed up the food I brought from home in a microwave, put it on a plate and made my way to his room again.

"Finally! I was starving while waiting for you", Namjoon happily exclaimed as he saw me.
"You could have just eaten already you know?", I laughed and sat down next to his bed again.
"No, we said we were going to have lunch together, so I waited for you", he said.

"Thank you", I smiled and we both started eating since it was quite late for lunch already. I ended up giving him almost all of my lunch because the food they got here in the hospital wasn't exactly the best. And I could easily make something new at home, so I was fine with it.

After lunch, he wanted to go out so I waited for him to get changed and we made our way outside to the small park next to the hospital.
"Are you excited to be able to go home again next week?", I asked and looked at him.

"Kind of. I hate the hospital life but I always enjoy seeing you", he admitted, making me blush a bit.
"Well, just because you'll be able to go home, doesn't mean we will never see each other again", I said.

"But less often", he said and I nodded.
"You will be fine without me though", I laughed and we sat down at a bench.
"I probably will, but I won't be able to get you off of my mind", he said.

I looked at him, raised an eyebrow and asked: "Kim Namjoon, are you trying to flirt with me?"
"Am I allowed to?"
"Well, since my shift is over, I can't forbid it to you", I said.
"Then yes", he grinned.

I shook my head in amusement and leaned my back against the bench.
"You shouldn't think of me in a romantic way", I then said.
"Why not?", he asked and looked me in the eyes.
"I'm not exactly an easy person to be with", I said.

"You could let me find out on my own. I bet you're not that bad", Namjoon grinned.
"You only know me from my work. In my private life I'm way more complicated", I said.
"Why do you think so?", he asked and turned a bit around to face me.

"Well, I'm quite clingy, especially when I'm drunk or tired. I need a lot of attention when I'm in the mood for it and sometimes I can't stand people and need to be on my own for a week. I'm way too picky when it comes to food or decisions like movies or stuff like that. Sometimes I even manage to annoy myself because of all that", I said.

"That doesn't sound too bad for me", Namjoon laughed. "You're just like every other person."
"Every other person just way worse and complicated", I corrected him.
"Well I think what you just described sounds rather adorable", he admitted.

"You don't need to flatter me", I laughed. "I like you Namjoon, you're a good guy. I just don't want to burden you with anything."
"If you'd let that be my decision it would be easier. And you wouldn't be a burden for me", he said.
"Sooner or later I would. It was always like that."

"I promise you I won't be like the guys before. If you'd just give me a chance I will prove you wrong", he said. I didn't know where he got all that confidence from but he also wasn't shy in the beginning. And I liked him, I really did, he was my favorite patient since he was easy to talk to and always managed to calm me down somehow.

I thought about what he said for a while and decided that it would be unfair if I didn't give him a chance.
"Alright", I finally gave in and nodded. He grinned adorably and seemed to be more than happy.

"I won't make you regret your decision, I promise", he smiled and we continued talking about random stuff for a while. As we were back in his room in the hospital I gave him my phone number and told him to text me as soon as he got out of the hospital.

A week later he was able to go home again. And just a few minutes after he had left the building I received a message from him. I grinned in amusement and we texted each other for a few days before we met up again.

In the end, I was glad that I did give him a chance. And he held his promise, he never once let me down or made me regret my decision in any way. I never thought that I would fall in love with a patient some day but Kim Namjoon proved me wrong.
